I am in financial denial! If I budget then I will see how much I spend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

Yesterday was a typical Wednesday, rushed, rushed, rushed. It's our busiest day. Today I am hoping to get some packing done, but I also have to go out to lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday, do a bunch of laundry and have to get ready for a Girl Scout meeting tonight. So, in all honesty, I probably won't get too much packing done, but I am hoping.

I love that Strawberry Shortcake cake. I am sure it will be beautiful. I do my kids' cakes but I do the little star method. I have always wanted to take a class to learn to work with fondant. Maybe someday...

So, 6 weeks till Christmas, the shopping is normally close to done by now and this year I have bought nothing. Problem is money, of course. I am worried about spending any, frankly I thought we should cancel our trip but DH said no. We go to Disney every other year and the kids know it is a lean Christmas that year as the trip is their big gift from us (of course Santa always comes). On the opposite year they get a big gift, like last year we got them Wii. So this year I won't be buying too much, and I think Santa will be bringing Guitar Hero. We don't have extended family other than my granparents and my great-grandma and I will send a little something to my mom. So, we don't have tons of shopping to do. Nothing I can't knock out in an afternnon when we get back, sso II'm not too worried.

Alright, it's 6:00, I'd better get moving or I will never get moving. Have a good day....

Hiya all, love the cake - wish I could do great cakes, but MIL does them, so I kind of wimp out and just let her.....
:rotfl2:

Still feel sick....VERY jealous of Cammie BUT love the pix! and am jealous of Kara as well...OH and my Dad who just left for the airport to go to Naples!

Now, I was going to reply with "oh - we visited Naples on our honeymoon " but then realised you probably didn't mean Naples in Italy!!! Dohh...

Tessa

Tessa, you crack me up! :lmao:

Got laundry done yesterday and all my clothes pulled out for the the trip. Working on getting Ally's clothes together today - problem is that the high on Sunday is only going to be 65 so I'm thinking capris with light sweaters in the morning. That way I can tuck them in my bag when it gets warm. The other problem is that all my clothes are snug - okay, they're TIGHT!!! This makes me so mad. I was 10# away from my goal weight, now I'm about 20. Amazing where those 10# go and affect the way I look in clothes.

I've got the camera ready and the camcorder is charged an ready. I've got her invitation to BBB, which will arrive under our door (or so she thinks!) on Saturday morning. Then I'm going to give her FGIT the invitation to 1900PF and ask her to give it to her after she's all ready. Jeff should get there in time for BBB - he liked going with her last time for that.

We sat down and discussed budget last night. He's sick to his stomach, being in the car market, there is just no business and that affects us directly. So I've found lots of ways to quit and pack some $$$ away. Then when his salary is restructured in January, that should give us more $$$ to put in savings. I told him I think we should buckle down hard until the end of the school year, then we should be able to loosen up a bit, without going crazy. And of course there needs to be a long Disney weekend or two in there.

I think we're going to use his HIlton points and go the first weekend of December for just one night. We'll see MK with the lights on this weekend, then we can see the Osborn lights in December, and spend the rest of the time enjoying the parks duing the 2 full days we'll have.

Gotta run now - still got last minute stuff to get together.

Kara-Oh my goodness I can't believe you are leaving tomorrow. Have a Goofy Taffy for me. They are my favorite! Capri's sound good or light yoga pants. I pack those because they are always light. Why not give Ally a little pack to carry? Or rent a locker to store that stuff until you need it again?

I am going to work on a budget this weekend.

Tessa- I was engaged in Italy Avalino Really Mirabella-Eclano,but close to Naples.

I will post pics sometime.

Debbie- Hang in there.

Alright off to shower and head to my aunts house. Luca's standing playdate then to the Xmas tree shop to buy ornaments and to Costco to buy paper plates and cups. Woo Hoo!!!!

Ally carries a backpack already to hold her pressed penny book and money, and her autograph book. I swear, her autograph book is SOOOO heavy! I printed off pages that I found on the DIS - 130 pages total!!!! They are 5x7 on cardstock then I bound them with ribbon. Very cute, but a pain in the butt! AND I have a small clipboard to make it easier for the characters to sign. This time I took out all the pages she's already had signed, but there are still some really obscure ones in there that she'll probably never find. But sure as I remove those pages, we'll see them, so they stay in the book until we find them.

My camera is fairly big and bulky so that is the big weight in my bag - plus small sunscreen, antibacterial lotion, bug spray, etc, etc. It adds up quick. That's why even for a short trip like this I pack 2 different park bags - it helps to change each day.

I found the cutest bags on ebay for Ally's teacher and gymnastics coach! They are personalized bags and only 9.99 each!!!

The #1 teacher bags are more, but still only $20 each. I'm torn.....

Both come in different colors, too.

Hi Ladies...
Kara..I am so excited for you! Have an awesome time. Can't wait to see the pic of you and Cammie!
The bags are super cute!

I feel lousy today. I was getting better but then last night for a number of reasons I didn't get any sleep. Now I just feel spent. I have tons to do so I brought Elizabeth to school laid down afterwards to no avail and now I am having coffee. Next I have to do DAISY financial stuff and I have to at least straighten up a little. Our dog went crazy last night and kept me up, I have that never ending cough thing that keeps you from sleeping and I didn't take any medicine because I was starting to get that yucky over medicated feeling which is NEVER a good thing with my anxiety.

Well enough whinning......
I am off until later! Let me see if I can post a few pix....

Hey, I am starting to freak out about something (what's new). It seems like Elizabeth has red eye in all her pictures lately. Doesn't that mean something? We were just at the eye doctor though and they did take that shot of her whole eye where you see the entire eyeball all the way to the back of her head.

love the cakes!

kara-- stop talking about the financial stuff. it makes my stomach turn. :) I have my head in the sand. I know I need to save more but I think if I think positive it will cause others to think positive and that will get us back on track more than the recession mongers on the news. This weekend will be a blast for you. 65?! I'd be over the moon. It will be 29 on Sat!

hi everbody!

My head is definitely in the sand and I think I am going to keep it there!

HI all! Debbie, cute cake! Looks like Elizabeth had a great time at AG! OMG! You have enough to worry about - don't worry about the red eye!:rotfl2: Get some rest, so you can get better soon!

Kara, have a great time if I don't get to check in sooner! I am working on a budget, too. Like Debbie, I had my head in the sand - I pulled it out and was really shocked how much debt I have! :scared1: Time to get busy and get rid of it! :thumbsup2

Laura, I agree - I think alot of the recession was caused by the media, who ranted and raved about it until everyone got scared and stopped buying. There were several financial advisors who said so! This is the same media who openly supported Obama in the election, and then said "who is this mystery man we've elected - we know nothing about him..." :confused3

So, I like to concentrate on happy, too! Like TGM having March dates out so I can be a SUPER PLANNER for our March trip!

Hi Tessa!

Hi MickeyMom! Sounds like you've been really busy!

Hello to everyone else - gotta go!

Debbie - OMG! Red Eye!!! It's caused by..... the flash from your camera!!! :rotfl2: Seriously, dont' worry so much! Relax, and rest like Tammie said! Sounds like the medicine is getting to you.:scared:

I get so sick of the media - they are definitely the harbingers of everything bad. Now they're talking pros and cons of bailing out the auto industry. Seriously, when does it end? And how can we teach our kids to be responsible for themselves when we see the govt bailing out stupid companies for making stupid decisions? OK, I know it's not that simplistic, but still.....

Jeff and I came up with a way to save GM, Ford and Chrysler. Cause if they go under, that says something about our country. How can we allow one of the first auto makers to go under? The auto was invented here.....

We think that the big 3 automakers should get together and run a TV campaign ad reaching out to Americans to buy American. I've never owned a foreign car and I never will. There was a time that Detroit made crap, but that time is past. We make good cars in this country now and they retail less than Japanese automakers. Maybe you get 30-40K less miles out of them, but you pay less too. And repairs cost less....

I think we should tarrif the heck out of the japanese and korean car companies. Mercedes, BMW, those are different - there is a niche for those cars that American car companies can't compete with. But why buy a honda civic when you can get a ford fusion for less money. A lot less money. And keep Americans working.

And I get mad when I hear that "well honda has a plant in Ohio so that's providing jobs." No, those jobs would belong to Ford or GM to offer if we didn't allow the Japanese to take over our car market.

OK, rant over, kara, step away from the soap box!

Oh, I"m in a pissy mood cause I stepped on a snake outside today! Not happy at all about that! I'm pretty sure it was a water mocassin.

ITA with everything! The media..cars..etc.
BTW I know the red eye is caused by the camera I just thought it meant something! BUT yes the meds and cold are getting to me!

OK, this is probably it for me until Monday - I talked with Cammie last night and we're meeting for lunch at MK on Saturday, unless we run into each other before then! I'm trying to arrange it before Jeff gets there cause he'll just roll his eyes. Typical man. :sad2:

So until Monday...... y'all have a great weekend!
