I stay away for a day - and you all go and post about 3 pages!!!!!! Wow !

It is like a lovely little club on this thread though...... so nice.:goodvibes

Quick fly by cos NEED to clean.....

Has anyone read the "Mommy, Can We Live at the Poly" thread?

October is a slow time right? She did a great job of recording every little detail, and I'm SHOCKED at how little she did ride wise and how LONG all those waits to ride things were. WOW!

Will we be able to do any rides if we go to MK on a Sat afternoon and get into the park around 2? Would we be better off at another park, or is it the same everywhere in the afternoons?

Almost to the 30 day mark until we leave!!!!!

That may be tough. All the "experts" seem to suggest you should stay away from MK on the weekends - those are it's busiest days. And especially if you can't there until 2pm. The lines in Fantasyland will probably be really long! Maybe try one of the other three instead?

I agree with Cammie - last weekend when we got to the park at 4, the line for Space Mtn was 50 minutes, so we waited about 20 for Astro Orbiter. We didn't even venture into Fantasyland, but from previouse experience I would guess that Dumbo was over an hour! I'd shoot for Epcot or DHS that afternoon. Wait, where is your dinner that night?

Well, hummm....

Here is what I had originally thought. We could meander in and try to get FP to maybe Buzz or Jungle Cruise. The we could do Small World, Phillharmagic or Laugh factory. Maybe shop a little - Dinner is at CP at 5. Then call it a day. Would this make my original idea more "doable" or will it still be better to visit another park maybe?

Now the next day (our first full day is AK and maybe DHS). Second full day (Mon) is full MK with the early CP. Then last day MK morning before leaving.

SO... I HATE to drop dinner at CP since DS is jonesing for meeting Tigger & Pooh. BUT I guess I could do DHS that day - main thing here is to meet Lightening and Buzz. Maybe Playhouse Disney.

I'm trying to make it a short day, as we'll be up at 4 am! (Generally, we're up at 6, so it isn't THAT much of a stretch.

I've got to get my plan done this week. The bottom falls out for me on Sun, so I doubt I will have time to do anything much after then.

I guess if you go into MK on your arrival day with low expectations of getting on anything, you won't be disappointed. You could just soak up the atmosphere until dinner time. Question is - will your 4yr.old be content with that? It may be hard seeing all the rides that he CAN'T get on because the lines are too long.

Honestly, Buzz ride is VERY popular; and the line for the Jungle Cruise always seems to be really long - and I'm usually there during the slow months! Small World - same thing. I've never been in April, so I really can't attest to what the crowds would be like. I bet if you posted the question on the theme parks board, you would get a good idea of what to expect.

Kara, your plan looks great - the only thing I would say is to drive yourself between all of the parks, back to the resort, etc. or you'll spend 1/2 your vacation waiting for the bus! I will only plan one park a day anymore without a car. But I think we will just rent a car from now on.

Hmmm, we've never done that before.... We're staying at Pop and I think they have great transportation, but it might be smart for my SIL to drive since they have the baby. I'll definitely recommend that! BTW, do you have to pay to park in each lot?

I'm the psycho one with all the ADRs! :lmao: If that doesn't jog your memory... here goes a refresher on the crazy lady plan...
arrival - CP for Dinner (Pooh & Tigger are DS favs)
day 2 - Tusker House BF, Hollywood & Vine Lunch (thinking of dropping), CM dinner (this is ds birthday)
day 3 - 8:10 CP breakfast, dinner at Whispering Canyon (DS is a ham and loves to interact with people and BBQ & corn on the cob are his favs)
day 4 - presently 10 @ CM (considering dropping this one in order to enjoy the park more, or maybe Ohana's to see :stitch: , at this point.... not sure), fly out at 6
(spending this morning in MK)

So great suggestion, but I have CP booked the day before and with it on there twice...
CS we were planning on Cosmic Rays maybe in MK, Flame Tree in AK, and Pizza Planet (althought I'm scared of what getting him out of there would be like :scared1: ) He is a pizza fan though. LOVES Sabarros (YUCK!).

Man, the more I read of what I write, the more I'm certain I need to be on medication. I know why I'm diving in so deep on this. I'm trying to escape dealing with the fact that my dad is ready for a facility. He has a long list of health issues, but Alsheimers is getting worse. Just so not something I want to admit is happening. So, like the little pink mouse says, this is my therapy these days, so thanks for indulging me and letting me "escape" to think of happier things!

As for Pizza Planet, keep in mind that the theming isn't so much that you'll have trouble getting DS out of there. We were a little disappointed actually. And the pizza is not good at all, think Sbarro, then remove the taste!:lmao: Flame Tree is very good though! And Cosmic Rays is basic burgers, but it's a fun atmosphere! Good choices! I think I'd try O'hana's for breakfast - a lot of people on the restaurants thread recommended it to me when I was trying to find one last character meal to surprised the whole family (SIL is taking her parents to CM and DH and I are taking his parents to Akershus with our respective families), but it would have been too close to make the final breakfast there. So we're doing Garden Grill for lunch at Epcot instead. I had to rework all my plans for the first day, which in turn affected every day, but I like it better now! Also, from what I have read, if you're paying out of pocket for any extra TS meals, I'd drop HOllywood and Vine. But then I don't know about the character interaction, if that is what you're after....

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. It's hard seeing our parents age. Since I moved away from my parents in 1994 (they are in Ohio and we moved to SC) and now I'm even further, each time I see them I can notice the changes.

Okay, not so sure if it is the end of the day or not, but I'm lost. Yep, Renee is me.... Sorry if I got you confused. Nope it isn't officially in my sig. I guess I should put it there. Not too open about flashing info around. Long story. Got a ticket one time. Here in our state, they allow person in prison to process those on your driving record (NICE) so I end up getting stalked by some wack job that i've never met for a while. GEE! Luckily we had an FBI agent we know pay him a visit to tell him to stop it and worked like a charm :thumbsup2 . Nice to have friends like him!

Whew! I was calling you Renee, too - glad to know that I must have read it SOMEWHERE - I'll just blame Cammie! :rotfl2:
Crazy story about the stalker!!! Wow! Glad to know you knew the right peeps!

OK, I am posting now, and then I will NOT check back before lunchtime! :rotfl:

I showed DH my notecards that are so nicely laminated, They look like this for each day:

Sunday, May 4th – Arrival Day (LATE)
***Magic Kingdom 9am – 11pm EMH Evening
Dreams Come True Parade 3pm
***Spectromagic 9pm & 11pm
Fireworks 10pm
***Epcot 9am – 9pm EMH Morning
Future World 9am - 7pm
World Showcase 11am-9pm
Illuminations 9pm

Lunch Garden Grill 12:40pm
DHS 9am – 7pm
Block Party Bash 3pm
Fantasmic None

Animal Kingdom 9am – 5pm
Jammin Jungle Parade 4pm

Fridge Swap Jennifer Howarth xxx-xxx-xxxx

Of course I can't figure out how to line it up all nice and neat like my cards, but you get the idea. I color coded by park with the park times, parades, fireworks, etc. That way if we decide to hop to another park or change our course, I have all the handy dandy info for each day. Then I *** the things that we are planning to do each day. Not this day, but on all the other days, I noted at the bottom "AM - MK, PM - DHS" or whatever, plus any other information (here I have my fridge swap info, on Tuesday I have the BBB confirmation and info), and all the ADR's are a separate color with confirmation number.

Then I have a separate sheet with all the confirmation numbers listed, plus phone numbers (in case we're running late), a page with numbers for "back home" like neighbors, the vet, dentist, doctor, etc. Then I have two pages of "cheats" with things like "Always go left" and "takt photo or text photopass #." Just little things to remember when it gets a little overwhelming.

Believe it or not, I am NOT as OCD as I sound! :rotfl: I'm just trying to cover all bases since this is the first time we're going with a large group. DH laughed at me at first, then last night he told me that it was confusing to understand. I told him it didn't matter because I understood it and this was just for me. Then he had the nerve to suggest I make these cards for everyone!!!! What's that all about?

It gets better, yesterday my MIL emailed me and asked me to "buy" another shirt for FIL because she was ironing it and ruined it! You know the shirts I MADE for everyone???? Yeah, thanx! I'm losing it!

I started writing a pre-trippie and it's pretty funny! I will need to finish it and post it, but I was reading it out loud to DH and he was laughing. I think y'all will get a kick out of it. OK, here's a sample (kind of like the tease they give for new novels! ):

".....
DD (aka Ally) from Jacksonville, FK – 7 years old, used to be the world’s biggest princess fan (weren’t they all!!!) but has since decided it’s cooler to love HSM or Hannah than the princesses! I’m heartbroken!
DSIL (aka Kim) from Raleigh, NC – 30 years old. This is DH’s sister and definitely the family’s best shot at sucking all the pixie dust out of the World!!! More on this later….."

That's just the "players" as I have named everyone.

That's it for now

Hello to Debbie, Keahi, Tessa, Tammie, Pam(s), Becky, Jillian, Sewer, and Lisa. Hope I didn't forget anyone!

Oh, Debbie, it is about 5-5.5 hrs to Naples from Jax. But I have a new "rule" - I think that everyone who drives to Disney and passes down I-95 must stop and see me! :thumbsup2 Seriously though, has anyone here met each other?

Here's a cute little morning thing.

I NEED to clean today. I have a friend coming in with her son soon, so you know how that goes. Well, DS is up and will BURST if he doesn't get DARBY TODAY. Gee Wiz! "CAN WE PLEASE GET DARBY!" with the most pitiful face you have ever seen. I guess I'm going to the Disney Store today. I can't stand to be the person who keeps his Tigger and Pooh from "sluthing" because they don't have Darby. Can you believe I'm being guilted by a 3 year old???? :rotfl2:

Kara - Real quick - you left your ADR# on your GG ressie. I would edit that out of your post. You can certainly trust us; but wouldn't want some lurker to take it.

Ok - this is my last post until later this afternoon; I DO have things to do today.

But I just wanted to mention that Pooh, Tigger & Darby do a character greeting at "Pooh's Playground" across from the Pooh ride in MK. We had no idea who she was - my girls are older and still have a fondness for the "Christopher Robin" days - but all the little ones seemed to be thrilled to see Darby!

Just a quick post because I don't think I ever came back from the sleep-over.

It went well. No problems whatsoever and DS had a great time.

Now off to feed my little guy breakfast now that we have all his bigger siblings off to school (that's what happens when he wakes up just in time for me to shove some shoes on him and take him out the door).

Dropped off DH at 5:30 am. The whole trip to the airport and back took a total of a half hour:thumbsup2 ! Part of the reason I love where we live. I even managed to fall back asleep for another hour when I got home!:cool1:

Tammie...I do think of you guys as my friends! I feel lucky to have this unbiased source of comfort here.

Becky…glad it went well and you survived!

Has anyone read the "Mommy, Can We Live at the Poly" thread?

I would think MK would be pretty bad at that time. You might not even be able to get FPs but if you have the ADRs then you should just go early and see what's going on.... worst case you shop or something (one of my very favorite expensive things to do in WDW). Maybe even check out the character lines at Toontown and see how they are. We LOVE Toontown but we usually go early.
Another BIG DIS NO-NO but I am going to say it....don't cancel your ADRs just keep them in case you change your mind (unless you already paid)or are booking something at the same time. Someone at the park will appreciate the opening if you cancel is my philosophy! Sorry if that may seem rude.

Kara...No none of us have met yet! I would love it though! Tammie and I might meet at my airport if security isn't an issue.
Tessa I always say a fly by is better then nothing! REMEMBER you don't have to keep up to hang out! Who cares, right? Who needs pressure at the DIS!
I have a story you guys will find VERY humorous today....
My DHs boss called yesterday night and asked for me to help him plan a WDW trip for March 28th - April 6th THIS YEAR!!!!!!! Men! He’s a divorced Dad trying to do something special. I actually feel sorry for him now that he will never get the kind of trip he could have had with my help 6 months earlier than now.

Jillian ......I am ALWAYS a big sucker too! ALWAYS!
Hi Cammie!

Kara - Real quick - you left your ADR# on your GG ressie. I would edit that out of your post. You can certainly trust us; but wouldn't want some lurker to take it.

Thank you! I didn't even think about it! Whew!

Well, today is another day cleaning up doggie messes! I thought all was well yesterday but my morning started like this....

DD runs into my bedroom crying because Bucky, the very well housebroken puppy who sleeps in her room at night, has "pooped" in her room. Oh, if only that's all it was! Not to be too gross, but it was EVERYWHERE!!!!! And it just went downhill from there. I've already cleaned up 4 messes today and it's not even noon yet!!!! DH just doesn't get why I'm so upset every night. Why are men soooo clueless? :confused3

Tonight is my Jenny Craig night, weigh in, etc. Then I'm going shopping.... FOR ME!!! I refuse to shop for anyone else tonight. I'm going to reward myself for not killing two dogs this week! :lmao:

Renee - one other thing that might work for you at MK on your arrival day? There are usually several character meets set up right as you walk into MK, and that might be something your son would enjoy - make sure you have your autograph book and camera ready!!!! We were afraid DD would be afraid of the characters, but alas, it was quite the opposite. I'd be that we spent a total of 4-5 hrs in lines over 6 days two years ago. Then she discovered pin trading!!!! It's a wonder we got to see any attractions! :rotfl2:

I'm very proud of myself. I made it all the way to noon without checking back. And I even did a couple of spreadsheets for work today. "See" y'all later!

Kara...sorry about the doggie toubles! I feel your pain!

Also, are you the one who asked about the retal car? WE LOVE GETTING A RENTAL CAR! We even do it now when we stay on the monorail. We hate the buses and hate waiting (really spoiled). If you stay on Disney property all parking at the parks is FREE! Yeah!

I started that thread to ask about a trash can and Laundry sorter. I can't believe it went that far:rotfl:

Actually, the thread that was closed was one that was started in Oct.07 - but it took the same nasty turn yours did!

Honestly, I don't know where people get the energy to get so worked up over a tv show! There are much worse things going on in the world!

If you ask my daughter, she'll tell you one of her favorite things at WDW is riding the buses!

They don't really bother me so much; but I guess since we stay at the BW, we're not on them as much. We walk to Epcot & DHS(that's MGM to you, Debbie!) We'll even sometimes walk through Epcot to get on the monorail to MK - I know that's taking the REAL long way, but I can use all the exercise I can get to work off what I eat and drink when I'm there all week!:lmao:

I hear ya. We have just had a handful of really PITA experiences with them! Whatever works for ya right?

When DH and I stayed at BW, I think we only took the bus to AK and maybe MK (we snuck in Epcot and hoofed it to the monorail, too!), cuz we took the boat to MGM/DHS - I can't believe you walk, that's a loooong walk!!! That is what I looooove about BW, the convenience! And of course Epcot WS is my favorite part of WDW! Look out F&W, we're gonna do some damage!!! :rotfl:

The buses were great when we stayed at POP, so I'm not too worried. I'll let the rest of our group decide what they want to do. Even at POR, we had several stops within the resort, but the transportation was fine. One thing I can't remember though, do the buses run from park to park? :confused3
