Good morning ladies - How's everybody doing? It's going to be 64degrees here today - weird!:confused3 Sent the girls to school in their spring jackets. It's such a tease, though. We'll probably get hit with a major snowstorm next week!

So sad I removed my holiday icons:sad1: I'm excited though, because I've added a ticker!:woohoo: I've already booked our annual trip - Nov.8-16th. Really am hoping alot of the Christmas decorations will be up - it's Amanda's favorite time to be there. I'm thinking MVMCP and the Osborne lights should be started by then at least. Past two years, they started @ Nov.12th. Also trying to convince my sister and her family to join us. She hates to pull her kids out of school, but they're still so young - 10, 7, & 5. My girls would love to have a Disney vacation with their cousins!

I also have a secret:rolleyes1 I'm planning a surprise trip for my youngest and I in June! I really want to keep it a secret and then surprise her the day before we leave(always hear of people doing that - think it sooo cool!) Anyway, I'm feeling a little guilty not taking my oldest, but my reality is that raising a special needs child alone is alot of work and demands alot of my time. Many times, Lauren misses out on things because I'm so busy with her sister. And she's always a trooper about it. I thought it would be a nice for just the two of us to get away - we never get time alone together! I just hope I can keep my big mouth shut until June!;)

What a great surprise. I wouldn't let yourself feel too bad you both deserve alone time together :flower3: Enjoy your break. I know many parents with special needs children a cousin being one and they take vacations with there other children for the same reason. You are planning a family trip so she won't be missing out. Have a blast and your secret is safe here.

Hi Ladies,
Great plans you all have! Great surprise Cammie! Plus, your November trip will be wonderful. You will definitely have a MVMCP and Osborne lights. We went earlier than that and saw both.
DH LOVED his gift. I am sending him to Arizona for 5 Cubs games of Spring Training. He was VERY excited! I just hope it all works out in the end. I hate planning something where I don’t have the knowledge like I do about WDW!
My parents are debating about trying out the timeshare we have the first week in March. I am invited but don’t know yet if I can swing it. It turns out their week is the same time I am sending DH to Arizona. Not sure if I can swing the airfare or being away at the same time with our dog and such. We will see. It’s in Orange Lake Resort in Orlando though so I might get to at least visit my favorite place in the whole world for at least a couple days! We will see. I will keep you posted..

Hope Pam2 and Lisa are OK....haven't heard from them in awhile but I know these are still busy days!

I did a 4 day/3 night Carnival cruise to Mexico with a group of friends from work, but that was over ten years ago. This will be our first DCL cruise, and we're pretty excited. :yay: Any advice from a veteran cruiser, like yourself ?? :worship:

Oh Wow! Thanks for asking - now where do I start? :goodvibes I will be happy to answer any of your questions - you are going to love it!!! :lovestruc I got alot of info on the DIS cruise threads - that's how all of this started. Look in cruise meets for a thread with your sail date on it - there will be alot of great people there to post with, and then you can choose to meet them on the ship if you want to. I am still talking to some of them.

2nd, there is a thread about "the best cruising advice from the DIS boards" check that out - there is alot. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=468132

**Biggest - get your excursions and Palo ressies early - if you wait until you are on the ship, most stuff will be booked up already.***

**LBNL - Start a pre-trippie so we can live vicariously through you! :lmao: "

Uh Oh . don't get me started....:rolleyes1 Happy Planning!

P.S. I see you are going the week before we go to DL - any chance you are doing a "post cruise" at DL? It would be really fun to meet you - we all seem to miss each other by a few days! We are there June 29 - July 3!

Hi Everyone! We are having another wave of the huge storm today! Worst yet - schools all closed - blowing, drifting snow. Now, if I lived in North Dakota or Colorado, it wouldn't matter, but we aren't really used to this much very often. I am having a hard time being motivated to do much today. :rolleyes1

Debbie: Awesome surprise for your DH! I'm glad he liked it. I surprised my DH on his 40th with Trailblazer BBall tickets - preferred seats - he loved it!

Tessa:    you are getting close! It looks cold there, too. I have a friend coming in tomorrow from Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. I hope her plane can land! :scared1: The town where she is staying is actually on the other side of the mountain from me - usually better weather. Hopefully Orlando will warm up for you nicely by the time you get there!

Camster: What a fun surprise for your DD! It will be really great for her to enjoy some free time with you. You do a really good job of juggling everything and caring for your oldest! I hope you get some rest, too!

Jillian: my DS says the clam bake buffet at Cape May over at the Beach Club is really good :thumbsup2 We are planning to do that one in Oct.

Well, guess I'd better get something done around here before DH comes home early...I was supposed to be working, but I just want to be someplace warm! :beach:

Tammie - Around here, they're predicting we'll be getting your storm next week. All I hear is "Enjoy the warm weather now; nasty storm from the West heading our way!" Stay safe and think warm thoughts!

Thanks all for your positive thoughts for my June trip. It really is hard to do things w/out Amanda - I have such the guilty-mom complex. Why do we always feel like we need to be "Supermom"? Lord knows, my ex is not concerned with this!:lmao: Anyhoo..... I know it would be great to have a "relaxing" vacation for once!

Hey Tessa - always meant to mention ... we visited your wonderful country last summer. Lauren's best friend's family moved over there for two years for Dad's job. They live in Cobham - anywhere by you? We absolutely loved it there! Went over for two weeks: spent two days in Paris; 2 days in DisneyParis; and the rest of our time at their house, going into London frequently. I could not get enough of your pubs! And the people were sooo nice! I have a new appreciation for good cheese, wine and scones! Loved the supermarkets too! I would LOVE to go back. The family moves back at the end of June and the mom is dying for me to come over for one more week to do some travel - would like to see Germany and also go back to Paris. Maybe, if I hit the lottery?.....

Hiya,
Cammie - no Cobham isn't that close - well about 120 miles or so - I guess that's close for you wide open space folks over there... It's so funny though, the way we see distances differently - we would never consider just nipping to Paris for a couple of days - for us it would be a major holiday!!! I guess like us going to Florida, and then nipping to Los Angeles for a couple of days...

The UK is cold at the moment - we are at 41 deg F at the minute - not sure I can get used to your scale - that's 5 degC to me - sounds much colder..... I prefer deg C for low temp -how close to zero.... and deg F for high temp - "in the 90s" etc -weird eh??

Oh, and (Magic....) does your friend have a "northern accent" if so, how do you understand each other?? I find some UK accents tricky and I live here!!

Got to go use up some air miles for booking our summer trip home to mum - she lives in Orkney where I was raised - never flown up before, but we have loads of airmiles we haven't used , so instead of taking 2 days and driving/car ferry, we are hoping to fly and be there same day. Do you have airmiles over there - you save "points" (when you buy/use groceries, credit cards, petrol(gas?)) and convert them to flights??? Would cost us £1600 ($3400 ), but costs us 3800 airmiles and £200 ($405)instead.... for 2 adults and 2 kids!!

Bye for now,
Tessa

Thanks for the advice -- I have been "cruising" the DIS cruise threads off and on for the past couple of weeks, but I have to admit that I am beginning to feel a little overwhelmed. There's soooo much stuff there !!!

And we're doing a pre-cruise Disneyland visit - June 18-22, so it looks like we're going to miss each other. We thought about doing a post-cruise visit, but thought it would be too close to the 4th of July crowds... Darn, it would be fun to meet and hang out in the Happiest Place on Earth.:earsboy:

(This is my 100th post :yay: -- took me long enough...)

You will have so much fun, and your daughter will treasure her special time alone with mom. We did a surprise DL trip for DS last March, and it was hard keeping the secret from him, but the look on his face when he realized we were actually going was oh so worth it. There's a thread dedicated to this, and has a lot of ideas on how to surprise them... :ssst:

Thanks for the link, ahibird! I'm definitely going to read through it - I need some incentives for keeping this hush-hush! Planning our WDW trips is always a family affair - I usually get alot of input my daughter. This one I'm doing all by myself (right under her nose), and I am DYING talk about it! But I'm zipping my lip because I know the look on her face will be priceless and sooo worth it!

(which means I'll have to talk about it here - or I'll explode!)

I'm just ranting a little because we had to make a choice upon which high school my son is going to attend next year. There were a few choices, and my son selected a school he felt he "fit in" at. Now all of the people I know that have children attending the other school are getting really pissy.

Rant away - we'll listen!

Oh I have a ton to write, but after today! I was soooo mad at some of these people I actually dropped the "F" bomb at a few of them. I'm going to get a glass of wine to calm down.

Sorry Sewer! :headache: People can be so annoying!!!! MYOB, right!

Sewer, so sorry those parents are stressing you out! I don't know why people get like that - it's like if you have a different opinion about something you are evil or something. Things will calm down when you get into your new routine, and you'll find out who your real friends are :thumbsup2

Thanks! I've calmed down now, but it sure did bake my cookies for a while. It all had to do with wrestling, and if a person does not attend a certain school in northeast Ohio all of a sudden you become the enemy. I really think some of these parents are living their lives through their children.
