Good morning all!

Debbie - Hope you and your family are conquering the illnesses that are trying to take over your household. Hang in there!

Tammie - Welcome back. Was wondering where you've been. Must have missed the post about your trip. Sounds wonderful! Welcome back to reality once again!

Pam - How is your mom feeling? Hope all is well. What are these ponchos from Walmart everyone is always talking about? I ship our disney ponchos back&forth every year. Believe it or not, they've lasted 3 years already!

Tessa - Don't get me wrong - give me a fine older man any day! George Clooney; Matthew Fox - yummmmm! Not usually into these younger hotties but something about that Zac makes me smile!

Steph - Welcome to the thread! Hope we can be of service!:)

I'm off to a bake sale at my older DDs school today. She goes to a private special needs school on the Boston College campus. It's a beautiful school, but everytime I'm down there it makes me yearn for my younger years. I just loved those college days! Then it's off to get some last minute things for Halloween tomorrow. Is everyone ready for that?
Take care, Cammie

Thanks for the info on the Ziacam Tammie Welcome home....I am sticking with my all chemical solution of Advil & Claritin D and will see where that takes me! I am at least functioning..

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes and pixie dust for us to all get better. I need it! I am the BIGGEST baby when I get sick!

I have to go on a field trip to a pumpkin patch tomorrow PLUS we all know it's Halloween. I must get better!

I had to hop on to say GET WELL, DEBBIE!!pixiedust: and...

WELCOME BACK, TAMMIE!!:cheer2:

We are very excited about Halloween tomorrow! I can't believe it's going to be getting dark out an hour later because we didn't change the clocks. At least we'll make it thru a quick meal before the little ones start coming to the door! Megan wants to go out in our neighborhood w/2 of her girlfriends. I am really struggling w/it. She's 14. 3 girls going out when all of the little ones and their parents are out in our neighborhood only. It's a tough decision. DH and I are supposed to let her know tonight. It's hard to let them grow up!

She's also starting the texting thing. I am checking into increasing her $5/mo, 200 text plan today. It's going to be part of her Christmas. I can't text! I've tried, and it makes me crazy!

We are also counting down the days until Saturday - the American Girl Store opening. Taylor has quite a little stash of Halloween and birthday money and is going to spend all of it there, besides the stuff that we will get her. I've not seen her this excited about a toy in a while. I'm enjoying it!

Have a great day, ya'll!!
:grouphug: Pam2

Pam2 - Sorry about your mom. I'm glad she will be fine, and you're right - sometimes we forget how quickly life can change.

Pam - How is your mom feeling? Hope all is well. What are these ponchos from Walmart everyone is always talking about? I ship our disney ponchos back&forth every year. Believe it or not, they've lasted 3 years already!

Thanks for the kind thoughts you guys! Mom is doing very well, still sore in the chest, but back at work this week. Now she's struggling w/the insurance stuff. The guy and a witness are now saying that she was at fault. I told her that it doesn't matter, but she is majorly depressed. I hope that she is able to have fun on our trip.

Cammie - The Walmart ponchos are cheap throw aways that we get for under a dollar each. I don't like to carry 4 wet, folded up ponchos around the park after it rains, so we get these, and carry a few for each of us in my backpack. They are very light and compact. We don't walk around if it's raining hard, but they work well for lighter showers. We just trash them when it stops raining. Some people don't like these, and would rather use the keepers, but this works well for us, especially the camel, the one who ends up carrying everything!:)

Hiya all
I guess the trick or treat fad from the US has passed now over here - we had NONE!!!! Well, except from our 2 little ones who dressed up as witches and went out the back door round to the front and pressed the doorbell.

And HERE is the worrywart in me, even then I worried about their safety!!!! On their own from back door to front (30 feet) in a cul-de-sac of old age pensioners - with a street light at the bottom of our 10 foot driveway!!!!:confused3

I felt such a horrid, horrid feeling in the pit of my stomach shutting the back door on my darlings in the dark, how silly, but I don't know how I will cope when they go off on school trips etc...

Hope you all had a great Halloween,
cheers
Tessa

:rotfl2: Hi Tessa! Well, it was dark and they could trip or something.... I probably would have worried, too! :goodvibes Over here, people have pretty much gotten the idea that either the candy might be laced with drugs or poison, or that big people are looking for ways to hurt the little people. Most of us lilke to take the kids to a Harvest party at a church or school, or trick or treat at the mall.

We only had about 30 kids all night. My DGS,2 looked adorable in his Buzz Lightyear costume, and my DGD 3mo. looked so cute as Minnie Mouse! Buzz helped me answer the door and pass out candy. He would say, "good-bye! Watch out for the cars!" One time a group of girls said "Happy Halloween!" and he said, "They're SO happy!" He was a little afraid of the scarey costumes that arrived - he would stand back, and after the door shut he would ask, "what was that?" :cutie:

Hi Everyone...
I have miraculously been away from the computer for two days but I'm back...
Hope you all had a great Halloween. We sure did! I am going to try and post some pix later....
We are all still fighting the germ war....Oh well....that's fall for ya!
My anxiety still is a factor but it always seems to be the case this time of year for me.

I can relate! That's why I started this thread! I am getting better about the kids...DD went on a bus on Halloween!

My girlfriend just came back from Disney and she said there was tons of you over seas folks there! She said tons! In fact she said it was crowded. I have never found WDW to be crowded in October. She said her new WDW friends were telling her it's because your dollar is doing so good here. Is that true? Plus, they told her they long for the sunshine!!!

Trick or treating is just like the olden days here (funny we live in Chicago too) and it does freak me out a bit but it's tons of kids and tons of candy!!! We had a lot of fun! The weather cooperated so that helped too!

See you guys later.
Love ya!

Debbie, glad you had a great halloween, and that you can still have old-fashioned fun! I think alot of our stuff is due to media hype.

We saw alot of Europeans and Aussies when we were there in Oct 2004, too! I think maybe Disney makes some great offers overseas to fill up an otherwise slow season :confused3

Hiya all

Debbie - loved the photos!!!

And yep - our money goes a LOT further now there are more than 2 dollars to every pound - last time we went we got about $1.45 - BIG difference. Also, our autumn (fall) half term holiday is usually third week in October, so no one has to be taken out of school - the rules are being cracked down on over here at the minute.
And October IS cheaper anyhow for us Brits cos everyone is kind of aware that it is round about the start of hurricane season over there in Florida, so you take pot luck - all those poor folk in the Caribbean were on our TVs this week... So, all in all October is good for Brits at the minute!!

We are going in April, cos last time we did Oct/Nov and DID get hit by a hurricane..... so we are following you Americans and going when you all seem to think the weather is best (high probability of sun, lower humidity, not too high temperatures etc) - will be busy, and is definitely pricey, but hopefully less days will be "spoiled".

We have our big celebrations here this weekend - Guy Fawkes night - a celebration of catching the guy trying to blow up parliament. We burn effigies on bonfires and let off fireworks at BIG displays - trouble is that folks all have private firework parties too, so it's going to be noisy round and about for the next 3 weeks - I feel sorry for the cats + dogs.....

Cheers,
Tessa

Good morning all!

So excited it's November - my favorite time of year. I love the crisp weather, falling leaves and Thanksgiving! Can't believe all the xmas decorations that are up already though. Turkey Day really does get the shaft!

Debbie - Your kids looked adorable - thanks for sharing. And that cake looks yummy - is that your hidden talent?

Tessa - Three weeks of fireworks? Yikes!:scared1:

Pam - Thanks for the Halloween wishes. Hope your family had a good one! And thanks for the info on the Walmart ponchos. I think one of the reasons our Disney ponchos have lasted is because we've hardly worn them. I bring them every year, just in case, but I imagine if it poured, we too would probably just throw them out!

I can't believe our trip is 22 days away!We're so excited!:woohoo:

Tammie -

I know I read the answer to this somewhere on here already but now I can't seem to find it.
Would anyone mind posting the directions on posting pics?

Well, Happy Guy Fawkes night to you, Tessa! That sounds like a lot of fun! Our dogs would go nuts, too! I had to keep them gated in the kitchen so they wouldn't "attack" the little trick or treaters. Now we prepare for Thanksgiving!

We are exactly 2 weeks away from our trip! I am not ready! I am going to finish my shopping this weekend, and next weekend will be laundry and packing, or as much as I can do ahead of time. 3 new things that I am doing on this trip that I thought I'd share (I may have already!):
1) plastic tablecloths for Main Street parades and any other reason we may need to sit on the ground
2) M&M mini tubes w/quarters and shiny pennies for pressed pennies (my girls do a few each trip)
3) glo necklaces and bracelets from the dollar store (to maybe avoid buying the expensive ones EVERY night?)

Debbie - Your kiddos are adorable! I love the black on DS's face! His expression is very pirate-like! Too cute! And Princess DD sitting on her throne. How beautiful! Cool pumpkin! DID YOU MAKE THAT CAKE???

Tammie - 2 tickers? Lucky duck! Maybe you can sneak in some pics of your grandkids?

Cammie - It's exciting to be close to our trips, but I kind of feel like I don't want it to be, because then it will be over. Silly, I know, but true for me.

Dawniell - I will try to post the instructions about posting pics.

DH & I have a date night tomorrow night!:woohoo: MIL is keeping the DD's overnight. I am looking forward to it!

TGIF, and have a most awesome weekend, everyone! :grouphug:

I hear ya - I'm already telling myself "A month from now, our trip will be over!:sad2: " Haven't even gone on this trip yet, already looking at the calendar for the 2008 trip!

Dawniell - You have to put your photos in a website like Photobucket, so that you have an internet link to them. Copy the IMG code. Inside of your dis reply, click on the photo icon on the tool bar that has the mountains and the sun. It opens a separate box that asks you to enter the URL of your image. Paste your IMG code. Click OK. I hope that works for you!:)

Cammie - I HAVE to have your jumping holiday Mickey! I love it! Would you share? or tell me where you got it? Please? I would love to find a jumping turkey!

We usually go to WDW every 2 years. I am going to secretly stash away money w/out DH knowing (he wouldn't have a clue anyway, I do the finances!) and plan a trip. I just have to! The planning is what keeps us going!

Happy Guy Fawkes Day, Tessa! I'm glad you can come over and enjoy your WDW vacation! April might be rainy, but you know, it only lasts a few minutes at a time.... :umbrella:

Debbie: I was sleep-posting - forgot to mention how adorable your kids are!!! Your little guy is getting so big!

Hello everyone!!! Have a wonderful weekend! I am busy gearing up for my month, and DH will be going to the Oregon Ducks game! He is going to surprise my DS and show up to sit right behind him!

GO DUCKS!!!
