I think I got it out of my system there because believe me! Wow! I was crazy in college! It's weird I still drank after that and then I stopped when we were trying to concieve and never went back! Now I can't handle it anymore. No tolerance and feel like garbage if I have more than two drinks in a night. Crazy, huh!

Oh so me too! I can get a nice buzz off a 1/5 of a mixed drink these days! :rotfl:

Confession: I have mixed drinks in a baby bottle. Ha. Couldn't find anything to mix with, and I was DESSSSSPERAT! Just threw it in the advent bottle shook it up and DH was rolling at what our life had become. So far from our former selves! :lmao:

by the way, I did pour it in a glass rather than drinking it from the bottle, so I'm not that pathetic. ;)

Renee - just for you:

:drinking: (that's a baby bottle, isn't it?)

:rotfl: Dear SIL suggested I make sure to take the drink menu with me while I'm down there with DS. She said I will need that. Even suggested seeing if I could get one and take it with me on the bus.:lmao: She thinks I'm insaine. Well, now I think I am insaine. :rotfl:

I wonder how much it would be for me to get some sort of spy camera set up in the house for while I'm gone. DH hasn't so much as gotten up one night with the 1 yr old yet. Him alone with her for 3 nights. OH, and he is "working from home too" :rotfl2: Let's just say I expect some appreciation when I get back.

Hope everyone had a great afternoon. I just caught up on all of the posts. WOW you were all very busy. I was at the local college getting a facial $15 and it was just amazing the girl was wonderful and very gentle

Kara- so sorry to hear about your pup. I agree spend as much time as you can. I hope your drunk shopping went well.

Hello to everyone else we are watching Lost here too. I may make a RARE treat and have a drink.

I hope one day we can have our own dismeet maybe a mommy only trip. LOL

Ok - don't want to get too mushy here, but just have to say - I'm really having fun chatting back & forth with you guys! You are all such a nice bunch and I'm glad I found this thread. I really hope we get to meet some day.

Ok - cue the sappy music!:music:
I know....I feel the same way...it's this weird unconventional conection don't ya think? I wish we could all chat live somewhere at times.

A rear treat...very interesting but Jillian TMI!:rotfl2: J/K

I wish we all could meet! Maybe one day some of our paths will cross like Tammie and mine might at OHare airport! I am always up for showing anyone around Chicago too! We will probably do WDW the firt week of October for a couple two three nights????? Something will happen.
Can you imagine all of us at WDW together? That could be insane! We might worry ourselves to death about it our explode with all the control competition!

Good night pals...
I am pooped!

Hiya all -it's getting quite chatty......

DizzyErin - welcome from your lone fellow Brit on this one!! We have to convince these girls we don't all speak like Dick van **** in Mary Poppins ! Mind you, I always imagine they all talk like the driver/butler chap in Hart to Hart - from Noooo Joyseee I believe..;)

Well, we are looking forward to our trip in LESS THAN A MONTH!!! AAAARRRGGGHHH - have printed off a packing list from a link to a link to a link - so will never find it again! Have also done a first run of the park times - that way I know what fits on a page etc for doing a final print a week or so before we leave.

Sorry about the dog Kara, I know it's harsh (I'm from Celtic stock and we like to be to the point) , but I think you have to bite the bullet so to speak - you know it is not going to get better - only worse... you know you will start snapping more at hubby and kids cos you are upset about it all emotionally , as well as at having to deal with the yukkkk . As others have said, I think you need to talk as a family (with a big box of kleenex) and if that is the way it goes - decide on a date when you are all together, spend a lovely morning and go do it.... The whole family has to take responsibility for the decision though, or you just know you will be blamed for EVERYTHING for ever. Sounds like you are lucky enough to have a loving supportive hubby -I hope you enjoyed your night! Good luck...

Hello to everyone else too - off to clean and plan, and plan and clean.....

Tessa

Thanks for the welcome
It looks like we'll be there at the same time and i have just noticed my ticker is now in days :yay: i'm so excited .. but i can't think of anymore planning i can do :confused3 surely that can't be right?????
And no thank goodness i do not talk like Dick Van **** in Mary Pops

I too am a worry wart. Anxiety is always an issue, especially in nursing classes, taking flights, that sort of thing.

But I have a new friend...........his name is Xanex. :)

You all have such great ideas!!!! I'm loving it! Know what. I'm going to take both your plans and play it by ear! We will see how the day is going, etc and wing it. WOW - me saying "wing it" WOW! :lmao: But since I have an A & B option, I guess it isn't really living that dangerously. ha ha. And if we give up CP, I'm sure some soul will be thankful.

Side bar...do the rides have a sign that advertises wait time, or are you gals such experts that you can judge the wait by looking at the line?

Don't egg me, but I was thinking of skipping the Pirates this trip. DS is so funny about things being scary. I really want to be careful that I don't turn him off. The dark issue is the biggest one. I figured I would feel him out on Buzz.

Nooooo, don't skip Pirates - have I told y'all how HOT Cap Jack is? :rotfl2:

Confession: I have mixed drinks in a baby bottle. Ha. Couldn't find anything to mix with, and I was DESSSSSPERAT! Just threw it in the advent bottle shook it up and DH was rolling at what our life had become. So far from our former selves! :lmao:

by the way, I did pour it in a glass rather than drinking it from the bottle, so I'm not that pathetic. ;)

I think that is hilarious!!!! Sounds like a true frazzled mommy!

I've got my glass of Chardonny right by my side. Afterall, "Lost" is on tonite - definitely need to relax to watch that show!

Renee - They do post "wait"times at the rides, but I don't think they're accurate - sometimes they underestimate; sometimes over. You can eyeball the length of the line and decide for yourself if you feel like waiting on it. We love the Peter Pan ride - but when I see that line snaking down towards the restrooms, I know it's going to be a long wait!

Ahhh, Lost, love that show!!!!! When I get confused as to what's going on - which is about 55 minutes out of the hour, I mumble, "Sawyer, just take your shirt off!" :lmao: DH just shakes his head at me.

We are sad aren't we!!!!

No, we're fun!!!!!! :dance3:

BTW I love Survivor, Celebrity Apprentice, American Idol, LOST and Lipstick Jungle!!!! They are all on tonight. Really...my poor kids! No seriously thank God for TIVO or my kids would be neglected!

Yeah, we're reality TV junkies here, too! And DH hasn't hooked our TIVO up since we moved. Yesterday I was looking at the box, thinking, hmmm, maybe I'll try to set it up. I told DH I was thinking about it and he just laughed!!! Yeah, I'm not much of an electronics guru!

LOVE The Office; Lost

My two faves!!!! I love the political INcorrectness of the Office - as soon as it comes on I start laughing, just imagining what Michael will say!

Let's just say that I think your DH will want to share a drink with US after this trip of yours! :lmao: But I respect you taking the trip solo with your DS - you will be worn out! But in a good way! :cloud9:

I know....I feel the same way...it's this weird unconventional conection don't ya think? I wish we could all chat live somewhere at times.

Yeah, what is it with this group? I just "met" y'all a month or so ago and feel like I've been chatting with you for years!!!! I guess we really are a lot alike! :scared: Maybe a little nutty?
Debbie - I'm not sure when DH and I are going to Epcot for F&W, but it's probably going to be second or third week of October (our anniversary is 10/18) but if our plans change and we end up their earlier, and you are there, we'll have a Dismeet! Yea! Now my debate is whether or not to take DD with us. I know that sounds crazy since it's our anniversary, but it's also MNSSHP while we'd be there (maybe!). If it's not that weekend, then she get's to stay with friends.

Hiya all -it's getting quite chatty......

Tessa, I don't hail from New Joyseeee, but ah do have that suthrn drawwwwl sumtahms! Thuhteen yeahs in SC will that fo a guhl! :lmao: The biggest thing I picked up in SC is "y'all" - it's a great word and covers eveything!

Thanks for the welcome

Welcome Erin! :welcome: Your trip is almost here! Woo hoo! :cheer2:

Well, I went to Jenny Craig last night and gained a lb - :sad1: but it's my own fault. Let's see, I had a Banana Banshee at Universal (let's just say lots of cream and a little liquor - yummy!), fish and chips, a couple of beers, and did I mention the rice cakes yesterday? Not bad, huh? I ate the entire bag! :scared1: Surely it's just stress right now. Oh, well, I'm back on track for this week.

So I went straight to the mall and headed for Belk's (like Dillard's or Macy's, for those of you who don't have that dept store) because they had all their home stuff on sale. Well, the 10% coupon I had expired on Tuesday, BUT I still bought one place setting of bright red dishes! Then I got a serving bowl, platter, pitcher (for those XFusion drinks!) and coffee mugs in a red/green/yellow/orange/blue stripe - very Mexican! I think it will look great in the kitchen with the bright green walls and red accents! It's very festive - ole! :rotfl:

I decided to sleep with Bucky last night because he has the same tummy troubles as Bella, and luckily I did because he got up at 1:10, 3:15, and 5:10am!!!! He woke me up each time with his, how shall we say this, um, er, GAS! :lmao: I just had a funny feeling that Ally wouldn't wake up and he'd have another mess in her room. DH thought I had abandoned him last night when I went to the guest room with Buck.

Well, we have another round of storms coming through today. This is enough to drive a person nuts!!!! I actually love t-storms, but not when DD is in a portable unit outside the main school! That makes me very nervous! I just looked at the radar and there's a line of orange and red heading this way! :scared1:

OK, ladies, have a great day! Hope to see lots of messages back and forth again today - that was fun yesterday!

Good morning Kara! Two posts from 500! (I'm shooting for 1000!)

Hope you had a fun night last night and today is a better day!

I too am a worry wart. Anxiety is always an issue, especially in nursing classes, taking flights, that sort of thing.

But I have a new friend...........his name is Xanex. :)

Welcome to the thread, RN.

My friend's name is chardonnay....sauvignon blanc.....pinot noir......FusionX.....SamAdams.......margarita (I have ALOT of friends!)

I know....I feel the same way...it's this weird unconventional conection don't ya think? I wish we could all chat live somewhere at times.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: good one, Jillian!

Debbie, if we hadn't changed our plans this year, we would have been there at the same time. We'll have to try at O'Hare. I won't have DH there to tell me I can't leave security. We'll just have to see how long the lines are - dang 9/11 anyway. It used to be so much more fun to fly.

I too am a worry wart. Anxiety is always an issue, especially in nursing classes, taking flights, that sort of thing.

But I have a new friend...........his name is Xanex. :)

Welcome RN! my DSIS is a nurse in Oklahoma. I like a glass of wine - and prayer, lots of it. Then I go on "vacation"
with my DIS friends and don't think about the anxiety! ;) Feel free to come and worry with us any time!

Tessa and Erin, I think the "joysee" guy talks kind of like DVD in Mary Poppins! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: (I noticed your letters were *** above. I don't want to get "dinged." Apparently there is a program that does that automatically, cuz who would **** out an actor's real name????? :rotfl2: Your trips are just about here!

Cammie! How is your planning going? How are you going to tell DD? You must be just about "bustin' out" since you can't tell! :dance3:

I have a conference call number we could all decide to be on some day. It is long distance, but I suppose most have free long distance? Not sure about you "Brit" gals - free international calling? Probably not. Maybe we could do it while you are in the states???

Kara, thinking about you.

Hi Sewer, Keahi, Lisa, Maureen, Pam1 and Pam2, anyone I missed cuz I'm not awake yet. Have a great Weekend, everyone! We are missing out on spending time with DS and little Mason again cuz we are still not over this stupid  . We are going to try to see them tonight at Jim's dads, and then maybe I'll see Dana and Mason on Sunday for a little while, but I have to do a party that afternoon.

Tomorrow is "Test Drive a Mercedes Day" for Arbonne!  We are having a catered breakfast at the dealership - they are giving out Mercedes Benz keychains :yay: Drivin', smellin' the leather, taking pics. Then we managers are being treated to lunch and massage at a B&B. Should be a nice getaway! This time I don't even have to drive home!

Hiya-

I didn't even notice the **** - the DIS boards are weird - they **** out the surname but NOT the FIRST name...... (:rotfl:giggles....) Coincidentally Diagnosis Murder is on TV right now!!! My goodness you lot do export some rubbish!! We give you the Office and get Diagnosis murder in exchange -no deal! (It has the whole "starred out" family in it too!!!! We could really get the censors going:rotfl:)

I had to change a message once cos I couldn't use the word for a secretive suppressed laugh cos it had THE n double g word IN THE MIDDLE of it - makes you feel bad to get it starred out 'cos I know I don't use "bad" words intentionally, not ever....:confused3.

Anyhow - wow we WILL be there the same time Erin - what day do you fly??

Tessa

I am freaking out right now! I have the weather radio on my desk and it's going crazy! Two people died this morning in a tornado a couple hours west of here in Tallahassee. It's headed straight for us! Nasty weather all red and burgundy on the radar! I have cleared out the laundry room, moved the washer and dryer apart so I can get between them if I need to, and I have an old area run in there to cover up, plus pillows, blankets, emergency lantern, cell phone, and a book (?) - like I'd be able to read in those conditions!!!! I've never been in a bad storm like this by myself before! And we don't have stinking basements in Florida!!!!!

I'll post later!

Debbie- haha to funny I guess I need to catch up on my sleep. I did change that however.

Kara I hope you take your DD out of school. A tornado that is one of my biggest fears.
Congrats on 500 Woo Hoo:yay:

RN- Welcome to the board.

Well off to take a nap while DS is sleeping I need it today.

OK, I'm back now. More grey hairs, but I'm here! The bright reds and burgundys just parted and all we're getting is yellow and orange. Just goes to show the power of prayer! My stomach is in knots now!

I called DD's school and the receptionist told me that they move the elementary kids into the main building well ahead of the storm. It's a new school so I figured it's pretty well built, and the last thing I wanted was to be out in the car during a tornado! And if I picked her up too early, and then it amounted to "nothing" like it did, I'd feel like an idiot! My neighbor actually called me to say she was out and about and was considering stopping by the school to pick up her son and did I want her to get Ally? After I thought about it, I decided against it - I don't want her on the road.

DH just called to check on me - the CEO of his company called him and told him to close the office today! I'm serious, y'all, the Weather Channel is not even giving the snow storm up north any time at all today, because of the severity of these storms rumbling through. My dad said Ohio is supposed to get 15 inches of snow today and the Weather Channel has yet to mention it! OK, my boston ferns just blew past the window! Gotta run!

Hey Kara - Hang in there! I just came from the gym and the weather problems down south was all over the news. Stay dry and safe.

MAGICFOR2;23648971Cammie! How is your planning going? How are you going to tell DD? You must be just about "bustin' out" since you can't tell! :dance3: [/QUOTE said:
The cat's out of the bag! Here's how it happened:

I've been fighting the urge to post a ticker - I'm just so darn excited about this trip and wanted to see a daily countdown. Then I found the new ticker website so I decided to make one. I mean, it's not like my DD looks over my shoulder when I'm on the DIS, right? I've had the ticker added for about a week now and wouldn't you know DD comes home from school the other day; I get up to answer the phone just as I had posted and who do you think catches a glimpse of the computer screen? "Mom, what's this surprise trip with daughter?":rolleyes1

There was no getting out of it! But, I'm glad she knows now. She was so excited - she had tears in her eyes! And, being just like me, she wants input in the planning - she's already made out her planning sheet! I knew I would have never lasted until the night before to tell her, but I thought I could make it until the week before - oh well!
