Oh and Cammie - on your booze it up anytime comment...
I fully plan to take advantage of the Monorail and be enjoying a trip around Epcot for some adult beverages. I might even make it a point to take a picture with Belle with my drink behind the stroller. Maybe that will become a new Thread tradition!

Although, the other night, everyone knows that practically after not drinking for the past 5 years, I was good and lit after one half of a glass. :lmao: Can you say Cheap Date?

Seriously, the next time you go, you MUST do Epcot! Fun for the whole family: you and hubby can enjoy fun beverages from around the world; and the kids can stop at each country's KIDCOT station to make their mask. You end your night watching Illuminations - perfect!

Yeah, I hated we were limited on time and I had to pick between DHS and Epcot, but you know DHS didn't impress me much. I don't know. I'm a ride chicken, so the thrill rides aren't doing a thing for me. Playhouse Disney was okay, but not something I would feel was a 'must'. I actually am making an assumption, but I think he'd like seeing the fish more. DD should still be young enough to be happy with whatever. DH will be happy with drinks. I'm dying to try that citron slush, and to do the child swap for Soarin. I think I would love that! I'm too chicken to parasail, but I've always wanted to. Maybe that would be the best of both worlds?

Oh and I loved the "in one ear and out the other". I honestly just don't know how to handle this with DS. She always promises him things, and 75% of the time, she doesn't do them, and I'm left with him crying in my lap and not really knowing what to say to help him understand that is the way she is. I just want to protect him from that and let him think his Nana is great. I think I need a therapist - and a good drink!

I'm the same way about DHS. We run around to catch about three shows: Beauty & the Beast: Little Mermaid; and the Muppets. DD will only do ToT with my brother (fine with me!) I think we spend more time visiting with characters there. I swear, if the Studios weren't so close to the BW, I don't know how much time we would spend there. That's why I like going at xmas time, at least the Osbourne lights are there and it makes it all the more worthwhile! DD really loves Fantasmic - that's are only other must-do!

Don't forget - at Epcot - there's also the Nemo ride and Turtle Talk w/ Crush - two very cool attractions! My DDs also like the Figment/Imagination ride. Seriously, my girls LOVE Epcot! Making the masks are fun and there are so many characters to be seen.

That's so sad. Unfortunately your DS is learning, at a young age, that people can disappoint you. I don't know how you can make him understand that. I moved three states away - that helped!

See, me not so much with the heat. I am honest when I say that if there hadn't been a cold front through when we were there, I'd been a little miserable. I didn't enjoy Sat at all. It was too d*** hot! I think it was 89 feeling like 99! So, I think that mid April or earlier - Maybe the first week of May but that is pushing it or October or later. I think the free dining is nice, but not nice enough to talk me into it.

Now the booze fest that Kara is going to, that might be an incentive! :rotfl2:

Generally in spring, I am ready to go, go, go. Come August, I just want it to cool off. Last summer we had a drought and I don't know how many 100+ days. It was hot! I can't see me wanting to jump back into that once it starts cooling a bit here!

Fall is my favorite time of year. I would like to do the MNSSHP. It sounds cool. DS would like that too. DD might :confused3

 On a side note, NANA came over today. I showed her the pics and told her that it was a shame that he'd always loved animals and all he could do on the Safari was worry about being bitten thanks to what Nana had told him. SHE LAUGHED:furious: I let it roll off. There really is no point.

Then she had the nerve to say she wanted us all to go together IN FRONT OF DS! :furious: Before we booked CBR in 2006, we offered to book the POLY, fly her and DSF there, & pay for their room at the Poly. All they had to cover was their food and we wanted them to let DS who was 2 at the time stay the night with them so we could do some adult things. It was for 4 nights. They said yes in the beginning, then said yes they would do it but would watch him naps only - no nights. Then it was down to one day, DH was about to flip. He finally said to put the whole trip off and we'd try it again later that year just to let that whole thing die down.

SO, based on that, she was offering DS for them to go, and us to pay. I told her that they were welcome to join us. That our stay at the Poly would be about $2100 and they should only have to pay a little less than that. Her eyes got huge when she heard we weren't paying for them. I bet that stopped that idea! Am I wrong here?

The Mother/ Daughter dynamic is so complex isn't it! It can be very draining and I am best friends with my Mom. It doesn't matter. We even have issues. I love my Mom and get along with her so well that I always want to give her, her way and that can be a challenge too as you have all read in PPs. I feel for ya! Vent away though! It helps!

Is Bear In The Big Blue House still in the PD show?

Hey where's Jillian today? Did I miss her checking in?

Oh I love all the stuff you mentioned! We will be doing FANTASMIC this time at DHS. Have never done it yet. We are eating at Mama Melrosa's with perfered seating this time too.

We usually eat in Japan when we go to Epcot but have also done Coral Reef:love: and Garden Grill (fun!).
My kids are little still so I think they will appreciate Epcot more each time they are a little older. Have to say..I love it but not up at the top yet. I dare to say this and send your head spinning Cammie but the countries bore me a bit at this point.

Also...I can't sit through the Ellen show anymore.......

I am going to put this in my siggie:rotfl2:

Renee the tax code is such a great read. it will really put you to sleep.

I agree with Cammie and Debbie -- Don't take your mom with you. Mine did that kind of stuff for awhile. I think it was an attention thing. She wanted attention from me even if it was negative. Very childish. Just post away and let us help you of the ledge.

Okay after hearing your stories from DHS, I'm re-thinking my plan of attack. I found out that my friends need us in Palm Beach at 4:30 pm. So that will have us leaving WDW by 1:30 ( okay really 2 but on my time it needs to be 1:30 to make it by 2:laughing: ) I am really torn if I want to try and cram DHS in that AM. DD wants to ride ToT and DH wants to do StarWars and I kind of want to do RR. Those are the 3 things I really want to do. Should we skip it this time and when we come back (hopefully soon) hit the park then? Or go back to MK or Epcot. Or let us decide while we are there. I hate that our time is so crunched. I knew that this would be an issue because I was trying to do too much. :confused3

Ok - give me a moment - I need to calm down!

First - re: Fantasmic. My DDs love it! My youngest was about 5 the first time she saw it. But a word of warning, it can be considered intense for some young kids. My girlfriend took her kids and her 4yr.old was screaming her head off - they had to leave early! There's alot of villian action and a huge dragon that could scare kids. Just a warning.

OK - cue the start of my Epcot commercial...........

The countries bore you? OMG! When you get to Epcot, get the time chart and catch the shows that are happening at each country. China - child acrobats; UK - Beatles cover band; France - living statues; Morocco - Mo'Rockin band; Canada - Off Kilter(FABULOUS!), etc., etc.,etc. The kids would love making their masks at the Kidcot stations; the candy lady and pick-a-pearl in Japan - so fun. And the characters? Pooh & friends in the UK toy store (also Alice and Mary Poppins); Mulan in China; Belle, Marie, & Aurora in France; Snow White & Dopey in Germany; Brother Bear in Canada. And the food ........ and the alcohol. I could give you something in each country that's a must-do to try. And, then end your night with Illuminations. I cry every freakin' time!

Need I go on? Get thyself to Epcot woman!

tell me more about the masks... they sound interesting

The first Kidcot station you go to - your kids will get a plain white mask on a stick. There are picnic tables at each country with markers; your kids will be able to decorate and personalize their mask. When done coloring, you go to each country and they will add a little souvenir to each mask, representing their country (usually some type of hanging bead. What I like about it, is that your kids are encouraged to approach the CM from the country they're in and ask for their "charm". It's cute. You can also get a passport book and have it stamped at each country. The CM will also write something in their native language. I don't know if really young kids will appreciate that so much.

Do you have a hopper or will you have to waste a whole days tic? If you have the day anyway just go for it!!! It is cool. Plus, you can wait to see if you feel you missed something at MK or Epcot? Maybe you will feel you need more time at one of them.

We have enough passes to cover that day. I did the hopper pass so we could hit MK the day that we are AK because it is closing early.

It's going to be hard but you probably should play that morning by ear and see if you need it to go back somewhere or some where new.

Me too or at least to the TIVO. It's only 9:40 here. Good night! See ya tomorrow!
