Oh, and BTW - think we are right by going with the Poly anyone?

I think monorail limits us to Poly, Contemporary, and GF. I know where you shake out Debbie, so no need to answer... :lmao: I thought that the Poly has a more laid back resort feel that DH might enjoy. Plus they have the Stitch breakfast too plus the dinner show. The Contemp was neat, but I'm not sure that would be my first choice to stay at. I think that the GF would be nice, but with two kids, I'm just not sure that is where we'd ant to be...

Talk about anxiety you guys…
Chicago has awesome park district classes and camps for VERY reasonable prices if you live in the city. Well, signing up is like buying concert tickets for Hannah Montana! My nerves are gone!! I needed to get DD & her buddy into a 4-5 year old fun camp and it was very stressful. I got it!! Thank goodness but it was scary!
I am telling you this anxiety stuff is why my weight is down. My anxiety has gotten worse every year and when I stress like this I have NO appetite! I guess I will sadly take the one perk of being a spaz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where is everyone tonight? Dh is working so I am here alone Badookie is sleeping and I am Planning our Disney Trip for Nov. Trying to get dining plans together because they will change 300 times before final decisions are made.
I was pooped after all that fresh air....did end up watching TV all night after tending to DH, the kids and the puppy....
Gotta throw them all a bone once and a while!

Snow was blowing sideways here today - DH was putting together a swingset/fort for DGS - he made a promise and he was keeping it! :lovestruc Now it's too cold to go out and enjoy it!:sad2:

I would be throwing up over snow this late in the year! You know me! Big Baby!!!

How do you do the buddy list thing? I added you girls to it, but I can't see when you are there or not, unless you mean the green dot?

Go to QUICK LINKS above and you will see where to click next. It's under your screen name and PM info....

I'm here - I can book our Spring Break trip next week! I'm excited - I still need to get DH to agree to a 3 day Wonder cruise, I think! Are you still there Jillian?

Cool beans! I do want to do a cruise down the road!

Okay, last night I talked DH into a trip to Disney ... NEXT YEAR. But I am happy that he has agreed to go. We are thinking 5 nights (okay I'm thinking) at the Poly. Here is the two ideas that we had.
1. Go in early May. DS will be in a preschool program that is two days a week, but it is no big deal to miss it. DS will be barely 5. DD will be 2 1/4 yrs old.
2. Go in Sept. Get free dining. DS will be in Kindergarden. It will have just started here, so he will miss out on that early bonding with his friends. We always go to the beach this time of year and this year it made it a little hard on him because the kids had already "buddied" up. DS would be almost 5 1/2, DD 2 1/2.
Thoughts? Ideas on which might be better as far as weather, enjoyment? What about missing a week of school when it just starts? Anyone done that?
ORRRRRRRRRRRR.....
Is there any other time of year that we should be looking at? I want it to not be too hot. DD has sensative skin and overheats easily. I do want to have pool time though. We are actually wanting at least one full pool day.

Well, we have ALWAYS had wonderful experiences at WDW and we have gone in early October, 2nd week of October (this is our usual trip), beginning of May and 2nd week of November. The weather has always worked in our favor but I guess at those times of year you still can get hit with one thing or another. The fall is still techniquely hurricane season, right? Our next trip is this Septmeber and like Cammie said "free dining" isn't always a given and the dates can be changed. We are pulling DD out of kindergarten after she will be in school maybe only one or two weeks....I am not worried about it because kids are very flexible and I am thinking of my DDs personality. It depends on your own kid. She has gone to school with a lot of these kids already this year. I do have to say again I did teach kindergarten and I still say pull kids from school for vacations! They are only little once!

We are AAA memebers too for the room only discounts.

Maybe you should pick May just because it's the closest, most appealing, not as crowded month in 2009!

Good morning! Heading out to the gym - thought I'd check in on my buddies!
Was all ready to respond with pros/cons to your choices when I read this.
I don't think you'll want to go in Aug. or Sept. Those months are notoriously very hot - that's why there are usually less crowds - and that's why Disney offers free dining - to get people to come regardless of the heat. If DD will have a problem with heat, I would avoid this time. Anyway, free dining is not a "set in stone" kind of thing. Disney could stop offering it at anytime. There are people on the restaurant boards who swear this is a perk that won't be around much longer (they've already shortened the time period over the years). Would hate to see you plan for Sept. for free dining and then have it not be offered.
Also, pulling DS out during the first month of starting kindergarten may be hard too. Kindergarten is a huge adjustment for some kids; starting, then leaving for a vacation, then coming back may be a bit much for him. Only you can know how you think he'll do with that.
I think May is a hit or miss kind of month. It can be hot, but not too bad. I went once in the middle of May and the weather was glorious!
Personally, my favorite times are early Dec.; early Nov.; or mid to late October. In October, you'd still have the MNSSHP going on - your kids would love that. Crowds are very managable and the weather is usually pleasant. In early Nov. or Dec., the weather, IMO, is PERFECT and the crowds are managable also. During those months, you'll have MVMCP and xmas decorations up. WDW is beautiful at this time!
Another thing to consider, to save money, is to see if you can get a code discount on your hotel. Free dining would be a huge savings, but I believe you can't use discounted room prices - so you pay full price for your hotel. If you got a 40% off room code, that would be a huge savings; paying for your food wouldn't be so bad then!

What she said.......

Tessa...can't wait to go read up on your TR!

You got that right baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think with free dining we would save $500. With 5 nights at the Poly, that would be at least a savings of $800 if not more.

You do know you can book too and then hope for free dining, call back and have them add it to your ressie. The other thing I have heard but don't know about yet is that in August and September they focus on preschool age kids AND MNSSHP starts as early as Septmeber 5th this year!!!!!

There are always tons of kids there. I REALLY do love POLY but I think some people think GF is more for adults then it really is.

DS is so cute Debbie!!!!! What sort of things does he enjoy? DD will be 2 then. I'm thinking she might not like the characters. She has a shy personality. She screamed when the lady tried shoes on her! I figure I can just walk her away if that happens. Dumbo, Small World, Teacups, Carpets, Jungle Cruise? I'm thinking those would be good.

Exactly! She will love all that stuff!

How does she do with the Easter bunny & Santa. The other thing is even if she is shy now they change a lot! You will have to start conditioning (ie Chuck E Cheese, Easter Bunny, etc)

GF water slide

DS would be all over that! I don't know. I haven't been, but you are right, I think of adults when I think of GF. Like there must be 10000 things DS would break :rolleyes1 , (no offense) stuffy people that my kids would drive nuts, etc.

The other good thing I think I did was we booked in September from a Wednesday to a Wednesday so she will actually go to school two of the days in one week and two in the other.

Unless you are really worried about DS for some reason. IMHO I would not have school be that big of a deal since he is so young.

Yeah, we always take DS to Sesame Street Live. He has always loved it. Chucky Cheese, no way! But Elmo, well, DS got away and ran up and gave ELMO a hug during the show. :scared1: I thought the bouncer was going to flip. Of course, I do go and get him, but not until after I snap the picture!!! :lmao:

NOT AT ALL! Now this is NOT me but I think the people who go there are just like you and me but with a lot more money!!!!!:rotfl2:

Don't forget...it's WDW! It was designed for kids!

BTW I have been dreaming about that 40% off code for years!!!! It NEVER happens!

Hi Tessa... Hi Kara!!!! I see you!

OK, I've decided on paint!!!! That's a huge step - now if I can just get a painter out here late this week or early next week I'll be thrilled! It's a taupy/tan/beige. Not too dark (which will appeal to DH) but definitely makes the white trim "pop" because it has more color than the yellowish/cream we have now. Ahhh, I can relax now. But I think I'm gonna paint the foyer today just to make sure I like it.

Got the bug guy coming tomorrow. I had no idea how important it is to have an annual extermination here. The gal on the phone just laughed at me when I told her that. They have bugs here they don't even have names for! Just names like Holy $%*&! And What The #*&%! At least that's what I call them! :rotfl2:

OK, I posted my weight loss ticker and now my whole siggie is messed up. I may hold off on the weight ticker until after our trip in May.

YOu know that you are really talking up the move to Orlando, don't you. Me and bugs don't mix. I hate those lovebugs when we come to visit! YUCK! How are the mosquitos there? I imagine awful. I was shocked at how much water I saw out the window when were landing! It was like ponds or lakes everywhere!!!!

Glad you found the paint! Hope it works well. I need to do some painting in my bedroom too. I just don't want to move the furniture to do it!

My weather ticker is way off! It is beautiful here!

Gotta run and get DD from school!
See ya all later this afternoon!
