I'm not very good at applique. I've done the standard Mickey head on a ribbon lined shirt.

But with any pattern you can make this. Actually this one saved me big bucks because DD8 saw it in Limited Too for $27 and I made it for $8.

That's what it's all about for me..save $$$. People do crafts for all types of reasons. Mine is stress relief and save $$.

Oh, here's Ariel and Cinderella.

BTW - I had one glass of Pino Grigio last night at dinner. I'm such a lush I almost fell asleep by 9pm!!:rolleyes1

Love it!!! And I love the applique mickey head on the ribbon - that's what I want to try but I'm scared! :scared1:

As for the pinot grigio? You'll fit in great during our Friday night "drunk postings!" :rolleyes1

Cammie a special package arrived today. DD is over the moon about the dress:lovestruc . I can't tell you how excited she is. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

She looks so cute!!!

Laura - She looks so cute in the dress! I'm glad it fits and she's happy with it. Really, my DD was happy to pass it on to another little princess to enjoy!

(I hope it wasn't too wrinkled - that is one poofy dress!)

Kara - here is the pic with the Belle who reprimanded me. Don't think you can see the beer cup - but's it back there! (It was soooo hot that day!)

Don't be scared about the ribbon project!! Get sewable iron-on stuff. I can't think of the name. Figure out where you want the ribbon to go on the shirt. leave at least 1/2 inch on each side to go inside the shirt. On the inside of the shirt pull out the stitches where the ribbon is going to go with a seam ripper. Put the iron-on-sewable stuff on the back of the ribbon, then iron the ribbon to your shirt and tuck the extra ribbon inside the shirt. Center the Mickey head on your ribbon. Cut and iron on the iron-on stuff to the shape of the mickey head. Iron it on. Sew up the seam on the inside of the shirt so the ribbon is included. DONE!

I am going to be shamed off of this thread, if not by all of the talent you gals have, but by making insulting comments to Renee about her vacation destination! I am so sorry, Renee! I have only visited once, in September, and it was the most humid place I have ever been. Living in Texas, that is always how people describe Houston. I hope that it is not too humid for you when you all visit! Dear neighbor friends of ours moved to Houston a couple of years ago, and they visit Dallas frequently, but we have only been to see them once. We hope to get over to see them in June, before it gets too hot, and go to Galveston for at least the day.

I am feeling over 40 lately! (maybe because I am?? 42!) I feel like I am a 30ish something trapped in this body that I don’t know! I feel stiff in the morning when I wake up and am starting to see lines on my face! I am fighting the greys with the red stuff though! I don’t feel old enough to be grey!

Welcome, Tina! Your dresses are gorgeous!!

Cammie - It's like Where's Waldo? Where's the beer cup??:rotfl2: :worship:

I am going to do it tonight! Just kidding! You make it sound so easy! I wish that I had 1/2 of your talent!! You and Kara do beautiful work. You should go into business! I am flying Kara to Dallas to paint my house! I wish!

I believe it is called Stich Witchery )sp? I love that stuff especially for fixing a hem in short order.

Does anyone put in ceramic tile??

I wish that my DDs would wear princess dresses.

I better get some work done! I will not work late tonight! Have a great evening, all!

Pam, you're cracking me up!!!! :rotfl2: Hey, I turn 42 this summer. Wait, did I say 42? I meant to say 29... again.... and again.... and again!!! :rotfl2:

Love the pic - that Belle looks like she could use a drink! Maybe she was just jealous? :confused3

Does anyone put in ceramic tile??

Actually, DH and I tiled our screened porch on our first house - it came out great but I'll never do it again!!!! It was way too labor intensive for me!

Laura, your DD looks precious in the dress! Cammie, you're awesome!!! And it looks like it fits perfectly!

Got the offer on the house. Not too bad, now DH is working on his company to see if they'll pay real estate commissions, otherwise we're gonna take a hit on the house. We only lived there 2 years so it's hard to price it too high to be able to cover the realtors fees. If his company agrees to this, then we might have just sold our house!!!!:cool1:

I'd say DH would but last time he touched the ceramic tile, he didn't get the toilet re-connected correctly. Thus the ceiling the basement bathroom is under construction.

Hopefully they will do that. If they don't try getting them to cover half. I'm just glad to hear you will be done with it. :woohoo:

DD just tried to make herself up. She has make up kit from costco that has this awful pink lipstick in it. Well instead of using it for her lips she used it as eye shadow. Maybe I shouldn't DIS so much. I am hoping that it will not stain her eyelids like last time. She was having a blast. I came up in just enough time. She had just put glitter all over her sister and was going to put that stuff on her eyes too. Well at least they were getting along.

:rotfl2:

As for your DD, that Belle dress just got her even more ready to look like a princess!!!!!

DH is calling his boss now - I just pray that they will not "make" us accept the offer and pay all the costs, too. :scared1: That would be major $$$ left on the table!!!!!

Just back from the DR's office. DD5 has an ear infection - yes that's right ear infection and we leave tomorrow!! Perfect timing!! I'm off to Walgreens to get Zythromax RX and some last minute things.

Okay all I can say is when it comes to my sewing the iron is my friend!! Even though I have enough burns on my arms I could play dot to dot on it. I use to have to iron 2 hours every Sunday night for my folks instead of paying rent - before we were married - so me and the iron, we have a relationship..

TGIF everybody!

So glad the end of the week is here - it's been a crazy one. Girls are leaving tonight to go away with Dad and his new wifey.:sad1: I'm still looking for a little something to tuck away in their suitcases; I've bought cards already but want to also include a treat. I'm waaay over-thinking this! I'm sure I'll be franatically running throughout the mall this afternoon trying to find something perfect!

Tina - Have a wonderful trip! Hope your DD feels better and the ear infection doesn't slow her down.

Kara - How's your daughter feeling today? Did she last the whole day in school. Hope she's on the road to recovery. Keeping my fingers crossed about the sale of your house. What happened?

Laura - Make-up story was so cute. Gosh, I remember those days - my DD LOVED those Disney Princess makeup kits they used to sell. She'd do her whole face up and actually, never looked too bad. Went a little heavy on the eye shadow for my liking, but I think she puts lipstick on better than I do!

Pam - You MUST join us for drunk posting on a weekend night. If you think we're chatty during the day, you should see how many posts we tear through during one of those!

Tammie - Where did you go? Are you on another vacation from us?

Renee - How was your spa treatment? Back to reality today!

Jillian - How are you feeling today? Do you have any more pix to post from your trip?

Debbie - Do you live in the area of Illinois that felt the earthquake last night? Hope not, but if so, hope all is well. The news is reporting no injuries, but that must have been scary to feel!

I'll report back in later with the results of my shopping frenzy. Honestly, my girls would be thrilled with a new lip gloss, but of course, I have to always go overboard. Why do I make myself crazy like this?

Right now, I'm listening to Sonny E. Clipse from Cosmic Ray's on LIVE365. That show always cracks us up when we're there!:rotfl:

Kara - Quick question (which I think you may answered before, but I can't find the answer).

I'm looking to stay busy this weekend with the girls being gone, so I may TRY to get creative. If I print off some of the t-shirt designs off the creative boards, what is the type of paper I want to print them on? I think you mentioned that they make "iron-on" paper that I can put in the printer? Do you get that at a store like Staples or an arts&crafts store?

Thanks - I need all the guidance I can get!
