We went to WDW the Oct after 9-11. I was torn as to whether or not to cancel, but had decided that I would not let THEM control our lives and scare us. We had the best time. The parks were so empty. It was our best trip. I just think we needed it the most after 9-11.

I think you are right about the heat this summer. We will be the ones crying, like they all cried about the snow this winter! I expect some harassment will happen, and I can't say that I blame them! I liked to harass Debbie about our warmer temps when they were freezing!

Now Houston is the worst I've ever felt, humidity wise. It was worse for me than Florida. No offense to anyone, but I could not live there. I am afraid that I would have to leave DH if he insisted on living there!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I am sure everything is fine. DH just accepted a new position and the insurance is terrible. I might go back to work just to carry it.

Alright Soontobewed - you got me over here!! We leave for Disney tomorrow night and I am so excited. I now have a Giselle dress, a Cinderella dress, Ariel dress and a Holiday Belle dress all hand made by me!! Broke my sewing machine during Ariel so DH was kind enough to get me a new one. Of course that means no more actual presents for me until 2022. The girls are so excited. I love the fact that they dont' know that the dresses are for the PP...they think it's for a dinner at 1900 Park fare - so exciting!

Where do I live in MA - I live in Attleboro - born and raised and haven't been able to get out!

Ok - I was just without computer, tv, and phone for the past two hours! I hate these "bundle" packages they offer these days - the price is great, but I was afraid of something like this happening. One thing goes out - they all go out! I did do two loads of laundry and picked up my car. Yeah!

Kara & Pam - I guess we'll have to listen to your complaints about the heat this summer! I honestly don't envy you guys - I would much rather choose freezing temps. over very hot temps. I just never can seem to get cool enough when it's real hot out. Aah - the joys of being in your 40s!

Tina - I'm from Hopkinton; I take my car down to Rte. 1 Ride-a-way to have it serviced sometimes. (sorry, that's all I know of Attleboro!)

Have a great time in Disney. One rule of being a member of this thread though: you must post pix of your trip when you return -- and will bug you until you do! Seeing pictures of each other's vacation helps keep the magic alive for all of us!

DH said he'd rather be hot than cold.... Not me! The way I see it is you can always put on more clothes, covers, whatever to stay warm. But there's only so much you can take off!!!!!

I've been working on a princess sunshirt for DD8 all day. Plus I have to finish a tinkerbell shirt for my friend's DD3. Yeah we leave in tomorrow night!!

Well, I got out all the bags to start packing, not the suitcases yet, just the bags for food, junk, etc. I have one of the WDW bags from 2 years ago that were like $10 with $50 purchase or something. Then I have an identical one from our neighborhood that we got when we bought our house, plus another identical one from our builder. So it looks like a matching set of bags! Luckily we drive so I can toss all kinds of stuff other than clothing in these bags and then organize it all once we get there.....

I'm actually sewing sun-shirts like the one's they have in Limited too, but cheaper!! I'll post one of the dresses here.

That's DD8 in Belle..one of my first dresses I did. It's a lot of fun. I'm on the Disboutique site all the time. However with one day left I've barely had enough time to say anything anywere.

I will. It doesn't happen often, which generally makes me mad since she lives two STOP SIGNS from our house. Why live that close if you don't want to help out??? She just moved there Thanksgiving and boy have we been disappointed.

Thanks Pam - really making me look forward to Houston! My friend and I said it would be hot as H*** but, we will be in the hotel the whole time so I figured it won't matter. After all, it isn't like Nashville is all that cool in the summer.

Tina those dresses are AMAZING!!!!! You definitely win in the talent department! We may have to have Debbie bop you for that!!!! I've been on the disboutique thread a few times and I'd love to learn how to applique! I've seem some awesome ideas! But for now I'll just stick with the iron on transfers - I did a whole slew of them for our big family trip next month, but still have about 10 left to do..... Feel free to pass on any tips to us!

I'll have to fish the picture out and post it; even though I tucked the beer cup behind the wheelchair, I think you still see that lovely red & white plastic sticking out!

I think anyone can do it as long as you have the funds for the material. Honestly I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I actually have a problem finishing any project I start. If only you could see my kitchen...still waiting for the tile to go up on one wall, the handles to go on the cabinets and the new linoleum to be picked. But hey lookat the wonderful dresses I've made. Crazy!

I'm not very good at applique. I've done the standard Mickey head on a ribbon lined shirt.

But with any pattern you can make this. Actually this one saved me big bucks because DD8 saw it in Limited Too for $27 and I made it for $8.

That's what it's all about for me..save $$$. People do crafts for all types of reasons. Mine is stress relief and save $$.

Oh, here's Ariel and Cinderella.

BTW - I had one glass of Pino Grigio last night at dinner. I'm such a lush I almost fell asleep by 9pm!!

I will second that motion. My sis moved to Houston last August. My word. MN has humid hot summers but that place takes the cake. Her house has 2 air conditioners just to keep up. I told her we'll visit in the winter.
