Hi Ladies! Just a quick check in! Lizards and frogs and flowers - Oh My!

Laura, we are in Southern Oregon, but on top of the mountain, kind of - I always have a hard time knowing our zone, cuz it isn't the same for the whole state. We can usually count on frost here and there until after Memorial Day - that's when we can plant flowers We have alot of trouble with the deer eating everything here, too - but no armadillos
You sound like a master gardener!

I was taking a little nap after getting a perm, a tan and my workout - rough day! I'd better get up before DH thinks I've just layed around all day! I have my church kids tonight - I needed to rest up!

Debbie, did you find your sunglasses? I hate it when I do that. I got new glasses today - she talked me into transition lenses, even though I told her they only get dark enough to be nerdy, but not enough to stop the frowning, which causes wrinkles She convinced me these would be different - NOPE! Now I don't have time to get prescription sunglasses before next week. DOH! I knew it! Rant over. Bye Bye!

Kara - sounds not so good for us. It turns out that Brad who posted that at PP is generally considered "in the know", or so someone told me. I posted that I called and got that info. He said to believe him. He was there. Only Mater came out - he asked the CM where was Lightning. The CM told him gone for 6 wks to CA.

Here is a snip ... "she didn't say he was out for just 'today'.. she said 'he left the day before to join the racing circuit in california for six weeks' and then proceeded to tell another guest that he was out for 6 weeks too."

I’m in spaz mode again….yeah shocking right! We are trying to get airfare for June to Ft Myers ( Naples) and I am just so afraid to commit! I dread it! We are passing on it tonight and I am just paranoid it’s going to go up more over the next week. I am just not sure when I want to go and for how long. I am working around DDs last day of school, my birthday, Father’s Day, my Anniversary, etc…. So it looks like we have to go around June 6th – 13th but then I am not sure how long I want to go. Thursday to Friday, Friday to Friday, Saturday to Friday…….We would be going with my Aunt, cousin and her son. We have never done this before so I don’t know what length of time we can all be together without it being too much….
Oh well. I better go to bed.
I will catch up tomorrow! Thanks for listening!

Me too but it was already taken out because I got an infraction for it!!! I am a risk taker though. We will see how long it lasts this time! I should have never posted over there but I think the RESORT boards are even worse. We will see.

Erin - try telling hubby it's hump day next Wed - mine thinks it's his lucky day!!(and sometimes...... well, you girls have perked up my love life that's for sure!!!! we gain many varied benefits from this thread! )

Now I have my worry wart head on again - it's going to be really cold, windy and snowy on Sunday - the day we fly.... well, the girls over the pond probably don't know, but in this country if you have so much as a single snowflake not melted on the road the whole transport infrastructure of the nation collapses!!!! So I have my fingers crossed that it doesn't snow (till Monday anyhow - )

Off to do the ironing - the only time I like ironing is just before going away!

I feel your pain regarding the airfare. It's a game I don't like playing either! I'm booked for our flights in June; and I still go back and check the airfare - found out that Delta's flights came down alot and I could have saved $50 if I waited and booked with them! Why am I doing this to myself - I should just leave it alone! I really think, for the most part Debbie, flights are just going to keep going up. You may catch a break if you wait real close to your travel day - but who wants to wait that long?

As far as DH's family, it seems like you're going to have to take the bull by the horns and just stand up for what you want to do. Tell them all they can "Eat your dust!" Remember - this is YOUR vacation too!

The way I've been feeling lately, I'm sure I will state my case, and be the bad guy in the process, but I just don't care anymore! After the way his parents totally "sponged" off us this past weekend.... It drove us nuts! Even though we're not paying for the trip, I might just find us "getting lost" from the group a lot! What gets me is that they just don't get it! DH and I talk about how there's no point in someone waiting while the rest of us hit an attraction, let's split up so everyone can do their own thing. MIL will agree and then go on to say, "but we can wait with the baby while you guys...." I think the problem is that they haven't been in 25 years so they have no clue. But they STILL have not done the least little bit of research!!!! I have a feeling that when they question some of our plans, DH will laugh at them and tell them to do what they want, but WE are doing such and such.....

Now I don't have time to get prescription sunglasses before next week. DOH! I knew it! Rant over. Bye Bye!

Debbie - PLEASE go to the travelocity web site and sign up for fare alerts!!! I'm telling you, we don't even plan my mom's trips down to see us until I get an alert telling me the fares have dropped. You can set it up for specific airports and it lets you know when the fares have dropped between those cities. Really helpful!

I'm laughing so hard at this!!!! And I'm sending you and and that the weather will cooperate!

Not much this AM - Buckeye was terrible last night - made a mess in DD's room AND peed on her mattress!!! I was soo mad at both of them! I heard him barking at around 10:00pm and she was too lazy to get up and take him out so that's why I'm mad at her. So I had to clean all that up, then take Buckeye in the guest room with me (he doesn't do well in my bedroom with DH and Bella). I'm just so "dogged out."

Having trouble keeping my eyes open this morning, so I'd better log out and then check back later!!!!

Okay, in the single digits. I suspected this yesterday, but it is confirmed today. DS has a cold! Bless him! I wish he would learn how to blow his nose. He holds it all in and stays sick for weeks - and always right on cue for vacations

DD got up with ear bleeding again. Probably all the swimming she's been doing. She's going to be heartbroken if the DR says no swimming the rest of the week! Me, too! What will I do with her for 2 days, all day, when she knows she's missing her friends????

Right now, I'm listening to 61 minutes, 52 seconds (as in over an hour!!!!) of uninterrupted WDW Main Entrance music!!!!!! Love it! Who needs to be a VIP when they play long tracks like this??? And I played it for DH last night and he was very impressed. Now if I can just get Tivo hooked back up.....

I will check into that. Thanks. DS has allergies just like us. Poor guy. I started the Benadryl D. His problem is (sorry this is gross) he doesn't get the snot out of his head so it stays around a long time AND usually goes into a sinus infection too. We have tried and tried and he can't get the concept of nose blowing yet. SOMEDAY!

Thanks Cammie for suggesting I post over on the other board. I did, and two people have now said he is gone for 6 weeks. One kind soul had a great idea to manage the hurt - a personalized gift and note from Lightning saying he was sorry to miss him. I wanted to do the Disney Florist thing, until I saw this morning $25 handling and $25 delivery fee before you even pick out your stuff. I wish I had more time. I think those little Jibletz things you put in the crocs would be good. He hasn't seen those before so they'd be extra special. Someone said Target & Walmart have Lightning Croc like shoes by Buster Brown. I may check there too. Then just smuggle them in my checked bag. I have to see how big they go. DS wears a 2, so that is hard to find sometimes.

Anyone here with creative genes that wants to jump in some ideas - I WOULD LOVE IT. I'm stumped, but I think this will lighten the blow of SPEED not being there - by the way DS believes that since he loves Speed so much, he will be back from his big race just in time to see him when he is there. That OR we can go to CA to see him!

Get thee to the Creative Disigns thread NOW!!! Someone there will make you a personalized letter from Lightning! Just post what you need, with DS's name, etc, and tell them how soon you need it. They will post it when it's done, then all you do is print out, and put the letter in your bag and make it look like it was slid under the door during the night so when he wakes up it's there, plus check anyplace that sells crocs - they do have the Lightning ones, very cute!!!! Or check out surfanddirt.com - they ship very fast so you could have them before you go!!!!

BTW, I have personalized invitations for every ADR, plus BBB, plus welcome to Disney letters, too!!!! I have some with no names, I'll post later - gotta get DD to the dr at 10:45!

Just to let you know, I emailed Steve Soares about the whole thing. He didn't know but gave me the number for WDW info - where the CM put me on hold for a minute, and came back on an confirmed that this is true. Lightening is gone and will be out for the next six weeks.

I did post my problem over there - looking for some tips on how to make one. I did find this person who has a premade Lightning envelop - among others on their shared drive. I am so looking forward to getting my little man to bed tonight and cranking them out. They won't be personalized, but I thought I could take the invitations and write his name on with a sharpie and "sign" them from Pooh & Tigger, Chef Mickey, etc for the dinners. I am also going to make him a letter from Lightning too. That should be so fun.

Where is everyone today. I was wondering if they shut the tread down already. I can't find the link to the new one Debbie made. I should have bookmarked that page!!!!

I'm here Renee!!! Just got back from taking DD to the dr. Played a little hooky after the appt and ran to Jenny Craig to pick up some food (lost a pound last week! ) and then to Target. Now back at work....

Dr doesn't know why DD's ear is bleeding again. Doesn't appear infected, and there's no sign of the tube in that ear. He thinks maybe she scratched it? Either way, no swimming for a few days! She's so bummed she can't go to Kid's Club, but with them swimming every afternoon from 1230-430 there's just no way. Guess she's stuck with me now!

So while at Target I picked up a lounge chair so I'm gonna take my laptop out and sit in the sun for awhile.

Renee - check out donatalie's thread (Natalie's bag of tricks) and she points you to her shared site. Also, maybe PM rumblytumbly (Kari) and request from her. They are both awesome!!! Rumblytumbly did DD's bday party invitations for me, among other things. She's awesome!

Walmart has those shoes which my DS LOVES!!! He is a huge Cars fan right now but he wouldn't even know he could be seen there to miss it. Walmart had a ton of great Cars clothes for boys too!

Ok…. airfare didn’t go up so we booked it this morning at 250.00 a person. I went with Friday to Friday so that should be OK. I am excited about it! It will be all sun..all beach or pool every day….(kind of like Kara’s days J/K) It will hit the spot.

Still worrying about my Mom. She is still all crampy inside and doesn’t understand why she isn’t feeling better.

Side note…do you think other adults make fun of me behind my back because practically every day I have a Disney item of clothing on some part of my body (usually my shirt)???????
