Oh my goodness i can't believe it .. Cranfield is only about 2 mins from my house

You got that right!:thumbsup2 Refinancing is done and I will be getting some money back. Of course, the closing agent tells me that "the financial responsible" thing to do would be to take the money and put it into the mortgage - essentially make an extra payment. Now why would I do that when I have two trips to Disney this year. That money is going into the vacation fund!
Your DD sounds like me. I brush up against the side of the couch and I get a bruise the size of Texas!:scared1:

Congrats Cammie!!! Of course it's for the Disney fund - what else would a good DISer do? :confused3

I had to google Elbow Lake. I've lived in MN my entire life and hadn't heard of it. Found it by Alexandria . I've been near there. It is tough with family and ones that never married. I've got one too. My great aunt never married and never left home so when great-grandma died she was lost. We ended up putting her in assisted living. Her sister, my grandma wanted nothing to do with it. Too much emotion. At least you uncle sounds like he is better off than that.

One nice thing about Elk River is that they are building senior apartments in the downtown area. The city bought up some land is re-developing it. One of my other aunts lives is Otsego, just outside of Elk River, so we go to her place to go snowmobiling so I have gotten to see the progress. They look pretty nice.

I am working on a Green dinner tonight. Green Eggs and Ham, pistachio pudding, green beans. DH will think I've really gone over board but it will entertain DDs.

Yeah! Grocery game is now at one of our major stores. Have to go sign up

My family is from Fergus Falls, MN - not so far from Elbow Lake! I went to Jr. High in Hastings before moving out to the Wild Wild West! We are in a rural place, so I don't know if we can play the grocery game here.

Hey Deb, I'm here! It was a long weekend with Ohio's jr. high state wrestling championships. It started with a 4 hour drive to Ohio University, insane weigh in's, ending with two 14 hour days of screaming people, and a 4 hour drive home! My son did well placing 3rd out of 48 kids in the 138 lb weight class, but getting home at 2 in the AM, and eating fast food for 2 days sure beat me into the ground. My son had strained the muscles in the upper part of his chest in the quarter finals, had a difficult time in the semi's where he lost 3 - 0 to a kid he's beaten before. He put an ice pack on his chest for 45 minutes, and came out to beat 2 kids to place 3rd. A friend of his at 126 lb weight class ended up with a fractured vertebrae, and sadly both kids were expected to win. My son was able to finish, but his friend could not, and will be wearing a back brace for the next 5 months.

3rd Place! Congrats to your son!!! :yay: :yay:

Look how cute this one is.....

Can't figure out how to do Tammies or the girls on the other side of the pond....sorry.

Keahi... If you put a weather sticker in your siggie we might have to hurt you! Kara..I'm not that crazy about looking at yours either!:rotfl2:

I need cities and states if they are big cities and/or zip codes. Not sure how to do it if you are outside the USA.

Speaking of that...anyone watch The Bachelor? Erin and Tessa are you familiar with this show? Well, our latest bachelor is from London and he is hot!

Debbie - I can't get mine to paste - I only get the link with the writing. Oh, and the Bachelor - Way hot!!! He should be lots of fun to watch! My DH gets so mad when I watch - not because it's another guy, but because the girls are so slutty!

Hey everyone. Thanks for the well wishes.

we went to dinner for our anniversary I was nice to be baby free for a few hours and we each could have a drink without fussing and I actually got to eat a whole meal without it getting cold.

We picked up our papers at AAA today and I am so excited it feels real now. I will start packing for real today I have seperated things in suitcases but need to use the checklist to see what I have to buy.

Kara I have had days when I just want to strangle DH because he doesn't help out enough as it is I have to go to the laundrymat tonight because he hasn't done laundry and I have been working like crazy so neither have I. It just makes me so MAD!!!! I came home from work yesterday and the baby was in mismatched clothing and had a wet diaper.

It's finally starting to feel like spring here:yay:

Happy Anniversary!!! It feels like winter here :sad2:

Jillian! 13 days!!!!!

Shame we can't do ours although i can tell you the weather is not nice, cold, windy and wet yuck

Same Here. Erin! 18 Days!!!!!

Have a happy Tuesday everyone!

Debbie Thanks for the ticker link. I too wanted to avoid chores today but DH was working from home today. I love him but it is tough when we spend 24 continuous hours at home, TOGETHER.

Gotta run and come up with something new for dinner. The natives are getting restless.....

Hello all!

Yeah Laura - you got the weather ticker too! Now, Tammie and our British pals - Tessa & Erin - need to get one! Then we can compete against each other for who has the best and worst weather of the day!

NOT a fan of "The Bachelor" here. My sister-in-law just loves this show and I tried to get into it but can't. Seriously, I think I may pop a vein watching those girls make fools of themselves. On the other hand, the guy is easy on the eyes!

I can't seem to get into the Bachelor. My TV viewing is really limited with working on Mon, Wed and Fri nights I just don't catch much. We have TiVo like contraption but I never record much on it. Although I will admit to watching "Rock of Love" on VH1. I just love watching the craziness.

Yeah! Grocery game is now at one of our major stores. Have to go sign up

If you do sign up, please put me down as a reference - my email is buckeyefanz@comcast.net. I think it gets me a free week or something like that!

Debbie - Totally understand where you are coming from with DH and job. I have one where I work 6-10 pm a couple of nights during week and then on Sunday. in all it totals 20 hrs. I got the house isn't being kept the way I think it should talk the other night. I lost it.

Can't say I blame you! I lose it all too frequently since we moved. I've got 400 more square feet and I had to give up my every other week cleaning lady. AND DH works more now than he did. But since I work from home, I'm expected to do it all myself now. Excuse me??? And the problem is that I AM a neat freak!!! When DH was living here and DD and I were still in SC with the house for sale, we had to keep it spotless and ready to show. And we did. So I really got used to living in "model home" clean. And right now I feel like I live in modern filth!!! At least according to me. It drives me nuts!!! And my problem is that I let it fester and then every few months I just totally explode! Or throw all DH's junk in a garbage bag and put it in the garage - yeah, that one always gets a good reaction! :rotfl2:

BTW, Laura, your babies are BEAUTIFUL!!! Love the new avatar!

Congrats to your son! I used to stat for our high school wrestling team in Westerville (outside Columbus) - wow, that was a long time ago! :scared1: :woohoo: Glad your son was able to finish and not hurt worse.

Speaking of that...anyone watch The Bachelor? Erin and Tessa are you familiar with this show? Well, our latest bachelor is from London and he is hot!

OK, Debbie, I was laughing out loud seeing all your posts. You're right - "Debbie, step away from the computer..." :rotfl2: I think you've replaced me as the "donkey on the edge." :lmao:

Tammie - was that you that was born in Fergus Falls? I can remember my dad mentioning that city. And Alexandria. He actually moved to Aberdeen SD when he was in jr high. Big football star there, and actually played against Tom Brokaw (who is from some other town in SD). That's my claim to fame. :lmao:

I was gonna make this a quick fly by but I was laughing and reading all the posts. I had another sucky day today. Woke up to a dead hard drive on my work computer! And that's the one where I have saved all my Disney graphics, and it's the fastest computer in the house. So I've been working on this el cheapo laptop we bought for DH to have in the hotel at night while he was staying here in Jax. A) it is slow and cheap, B) it is Windows Vista and that sticks too! So I was dragging all day. I literally did not check out the DIS at all today! And I still only got through 1/2 what I needed to today. It's amazing what the speed of a computer can do - or not do in this case. :sad2: So I was very stressed most of the day. And I'm still not sure if I lost any photos - I haven't checked yet because I don't want to upset myself.

So what did I do tonight? Went shopping! Found some cute white "beach pants." Ya know, the drawstring, baggy type that look so cute on the beach. And got another pair of Crocs - "faded" red this time. And to keep DD quiet I got her a couple of things, including a "Troy" shirt from HSM. I can't complain about HSM and Hannah Montana. I think they're both entertaining. And who's kidding who? Troy is kinda cute! Man, I'm getting old!!!!!

OK, does Brooke bother anyone else? I'm on the American Idol topic now. She's just too "nice." Not natural. Nobody should be that happy! She probably enjoys housework, to be that happy, just ain't right! Didn't she say she had never seen a rated "R" movie? I guess that explains those lame dance moves! :rotfl2: OK, I'll lay off now.... but she just really annoys me.

OK, I'm off to do some more work. Otherwise I'll be behind all week.

BTW, I sold 6 out of my 9 ebay items!!!!

Although I will admit to watching "Rock of Love" on VH1. I just love watching the craziness.

:scared1:

I was going to email you about this also. In reading some of the website, they ask how you were referred. I'm thinking of doing it also since I'm a pretty faithful coupon-cutter; I'll be sure to put you down!:thumbsup2

I was just getting up to come on the computer saying how much I LIKE Brooke - I think she's kind of sweet. I appreciate how she took the criticism and didn't get all snotty with the judges. Oh well - different strokes......

I bought a new tv today. Finally caved in to this High-def, LCD craze. Besides, the tv I have now is officially done. Everything on the left-side of the screen has a purple/green shadow. DD thinks it looks cool - just gives me a headache. Anyway, new TV is being delivered tomorrow; so glad we'll be able to see a "sharper" image of Lost!

Ahhh, sharper shirtless Sawyer! :rotfl2:

We're torn on this - We were out shopping and now DH is thinking of waiting until next year, when everyone HAS to have digital. He said the gov't is stepping in to make sure that the TVs are "affordable" since we have no choice. We only have one TV in the house that is digital. That sounds so pathetic - as a kid we only had ONE TV period! And here I am whining because we onlyhave ONE that is digital. We really are a spoiled society aren't we?

Just last night we were watching something on TV about all the changes. I feel bad for some people who won't have a clue until they wake up one morning and get no reception.

We too are looking at Digital TV's. DH is one that has to have the latest and greatest. He is waiting to see what DirecTv is going to do when the change comes. His thought is they might have a promo--I'm just along for the ride when it comes to the tech parts of TV. I just want to make sure I can watch it. I do have to clarify--Rock of Love is for when I am folding laundry--always gets a good laugh.

Kara- I will put you down as a ref when I sign up. Thanks again for the link.

According to the gov't ads in our area, TVs hooked up to cable will be fine, only TVs that are receiving signals through "rabbit ears" or antennas will be in trouble. :confused3

I heard that the gov't is giving out coupons for something that you can hook up to your old tv so it will work. :confused3
We bought a Samsung DLP almost a year ago and it is now having some weird discoloration on and off. Hopefully the warranty isn't up.
I loved reading Friday nights posts. Wish I would have been there. I don't even know what I did Friday. Probably played dolls w/DD.

Hi Kara! Congrats on selling your ebay items! I should dig some stuff out of the attic to sell. I'll look into the grocery thing.

I was born in Wisconsin, but my mom was born in Fergus Falls. My dad was born in Pelican Rapids, (same area). They grew up in Fergus Falls. I lived there a few years of my childhood, and we have alot of family there. My DH never wants to visit, so I don't get there much, but sometimes my mom and I go on a girls trip there and stay with my fun aunt who lives there!
I know where Alexandria is, and I know where Aberdeen is, too!

We got stationed in ND when we were first married, our oldest DS was born there. We had friends in SD that we visited a few times.

I don't have any claim to fame!

Oh, big announcement:

Our home town college, Oregon Institute of Technology Hustlin' Owls - just won the NAIA Div 2 National Championship in Branson, MO!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Lots of Small town excitement for us!

Hello all!

Yeah Laura - you got the weather ticker too! Now, Tammie and our British pals - Tessa & Erin - need to get one! Then we can compete against each other for who has the best and worst weather of the day!

Hi all lots went on yesterday i see .. i left here early as am sick  am only up now because i had to walk DD to school

I tried to put the weather thingy on mine yesterday but i just couldn't get it to do it .. i followed Debbie's instructions .. i will try again as wasn't at my best yesterday  although i can say that for once here the sun is actually out, still really cold and windy but hey i'll be in Florida in 17 days :woohoo:

Hope you're all well ...

Erin xx

Hiya all,

Erin - we are way over west of you and it's nice here too -sunshine, blue skies - but cold and windy! Well be in Gatwick in 17 days - but Florida in 18!!
Have you started "gathering" yet all the stuff you need to take?

Debbie - I am starting to feel addicted to these boards too - love seeing all the chatty posts - I haven't added the weather thing, cos I use my siggy for other boards where they are really strict on size of siggy. But I do have Windows Vista desktop and pride of place goes to weather in florida and weather here - currently 22 deg F difference!!!!! and it is the middle of the night over there!!!!!!!

Hiya all, got to go...
Tessa

Erin - Don't fret over the siggy - it literally took me about an hour to get the weather ticker to fit in mine. I know I'm probably not doing something right; but I'm getting better. Now if I could just figure out how to change my avatar!

Hope you're feeling better soon! Yes, that warm Florida sun is going to be just what the doctor ordered!

Ahhh, sharper shirtless Sawyer! :rotfl2:

I'm needing me some shirtless Sawyer! Seriously, he has NOT gotten enough screen time this season - I sooo enjoy him when he's on. Let's hope after the show comes back from it's break, we'll see more of that bad boy!

We too are looking at Digital TV's. DH is one that has to have the latest and greatest. He is waiting to see what DirecTv is going to do when the change comes. His thought is they might have a promo--I'm just along for the ride when it comes to the tech parts of TV.

What is hubby thinking DirecTV will do? I have a Directv receiver also; now that I'm getting a high def. TV, I have to switch out my receiver for a high-def one. I'm so electronically-challenged!:confused3

I loved reading Friday nights posts. Wish I would have been there. I don't even know what I did Friday. Probably played dolls w/DD.

I'm sure we'll try to do it again. The key will be trying to find the right time for everybody - if that's possible.

Our home town college, Oregon Institute of Technology Hustlin' Owls - just won the NAIA Div 2 National Championship in Branson, MO!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Lots of Small town excitement for us!

Congrats Tammie! Is this in basketball? Just had to laugh though - "Hustlin' Owls"?

Erin - we are way over west of you and it's nice here too -sunshine, blue skies - but cold and windy! Well be in Gatwick in 17 days - but Florida in 18!!
Have you started "gathering" yet all the stuff you need to take? Tessa

How's your packing going? Your girls must be so excited! Mine can't wait to see our ticker change from 3 months to 2 -- and neither can I!

Hope everyone has a good day!

OK, I sooo should not be playing this morning but I've got to get my Dis fix!

Yesterday sucked so bad - the computer crash, and then I took DD out to dinner and ate junk, plus 2 beers! I only felt better for a short time. I hate when I do that to myself. I have these last 10 pounds to go, and I had really planned on being there for the trip in May, but now we're down to like 6 weeks, so I don't think it's going to happen. I feel like I'm saboutaging myself!

According to the gov't ads in our area, TVs hooked up to cable will be fine, only TVs that are receiving signals through "rabbit ears" or antennas will be in trouble. :confused3

I heard that all non-digital TVs wil need a converter box, so the cable and satelite companies will probably charge about $5/month, just like they do for the older non-cable ready TVs if you want to get the movie channels.

Our home town college, Oregon Institute of Technology Hustlin' Owls - just won the NAIA Div 2 National Championship in Branson, MO!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Lots of Small town excitement for us!

Go "Hustlin' Owls"!!! :cheer2: Have to agree with Cammie though, I did get a chuckle out of the name. But then I come from SC where the local favorite is the South Carolina Gamecocks, shortened to 'Cocks, so I can't say much! :rotfl:

Hi all lots went on yesterday i see .. i left here early as am sick  am only up now because i had to walk DD to school

So sorry you're sick, Erin! Just get it all out of your system now cause in about 2 weeks you'll be hangin' with the Mouse! :cool1:

I'm needing me some shirtless Sawyer! Seriously, he has NOT gotten enough screen time this season - I sooo enjoy him when he's on. Let's hope after the show comes back from it's break, we'll see more of that bad boy!

Amen, Sista! I guess in real life he's a small town Georgia boy who is just as sweet as can be. But I'd rather think of him as the bad boy! Much hotter that way!

Tessa, Debbie, Pam, Renee (you stil out there?), Laura, and everyone else I forgot! Hope you're having a good week - it's Hump Day - that was for Tessa! :rotfl2:

BTW, is anyone else having problems posting here? When I posted last night a couple of times, my puter acted "crazy." :badpc: Maybe it's just my molasses puter!

Oh Kara I am so jelouse It has been snowing here all morning so much for spring.

12 days and counting

How is everyone today?

So sorry you're sick, Erin! Just get it all out of your system now cause in about 2 weeks you'll be hangin' with the Mouse! :cool1:

Oh it's so exciting i cannot wait for sure .. have been getting last minute things then i'd better get packing for sure

Erin - Don't fret over the siggy - it literally took me about an hour to get the weather ticker to fit in mine. I know I'm probably not doing something right; but I'm getting better. Now if I could just figure out how to change my avatar!

Tessa
Yes we go to Gatwick in 16 days and Florida in 17 :woohoo: cannot wait my DD is barely containing her excitement each morning as she faces her countdown chart  although i have just realised that she is bound to get homework over the 2 week break  oh no what to do
