Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too (Part 2)

We leave for our vacation in 8 days! :woohoo: We're not doing a cruise as originally planned, but we're going to Puerto Vallarta Mexico at an all inclusive resort on the beach! We're getting really excited - I am so ready for a break, and Jim really needs a vacation! It will be great to spend time with Ryan and Dana and little Mason, who are coming with us. I need to start packing this weekend.

TGM says that except for CM and CRT we can't make ADRs until the 90 day mark:confused3 Which trip did you just do yours for, the Nov or the Feb?

Duh - I thought you were doing a cruise! Anyway - you're still going someplace warm; and I didn't know you had family coming along too. How fun!

As for the ADRs - I would call DisneyDining and check. I, too, was told I couldn't make my Feb.ADRs until 90 days out; well they opened up the booking window for that time on Aug.30th. And I thought you could book on that day for ADRs up through Feb.25th. I wouldn't assume it's still 90 days for your March dining.

BTW - just got a text from Kara. She said to tell you she got the Chip & Dale!:thumbsup2

Good Morning All :surfweb: Off to the Mall today to pick up Mike's watch and use my gyboree coupon before it expires. Also I have a gift card to sears so I will use that for me! Lands End gotta love it!

Glad to hear Kara is well. Talk to you all later!

I've been getting text updates from Kara..........

She says the weather is fine - sunny, but not too hot. She's at AK today and there's hardly anyone there; have only had 10 minute waits for the popular rides.

(I get so excited when I get a text from her; feel like I'm there myself!:goodvibes )

i'm glad to hear she is thinking of. Can you imagine Jeff's face when she is sending them? :lmao:

my mil is there right now too and she says it's wonderful. Weather's nice, crowds are minimal. Good times.

I'm so jealous I could spit.:worship:

So I'm finishing up the dance skirts tonight and then I'm going to start on the 'scales' of DD9's halloween costume. I've got to hurry up becaue tomorrow I'm going with my friend to get fabric for her cushions. Sounds like I'm making 12 of them - 30 inches each in length. It will be fun - I keep telling myself!!

Hey the money goes into my Disney fund!!

Dh is finally mowing the lawn. I think the grass was up to our knees, there's been so much rain. I can't complain he did get me mums for the yard and for his father's grave site. I want to get some planted before my mil gets home from Disney so it's pretty when she goes to visit it. I so need a spa day!!

I've been getting text updates from Kara..........
)

I know what you mean, I got one of the front of the park... :cloud9: I honestly hope that she & Jeff have a good time and she doesn't worry about Ally. I know that is hard as a mom, but important!

Sorry to be so disconnected here lately. I have been Ms. Yard Worker for the past 3 days. My body is so sore. I cannot even begin to tell you. I've trimmed trees (big limbs off - 3-4 inches in diameter) and shrubs, and bushes. I am sunburnt and ouchy. Not a fun combo. I'm trying still to catch up a bit - bare with me... you guys have been chatty! :)

I'm up to page 208! Woo-hoo! :cool1:

Thanks to everyone who missed me! :grouphug: I missed you guys too!

yikes when are they going to shut us down, who's going to start the new thread?
 Wasn't it close to 200?

Hi everyone! It would be so fun if one of "our" girls were selected as the Disney Mom!

Debbie! You are so funny! I don't know the answers, except I do try to find you all here on Fridays for DP - It's just a little early for me ;)

I made a couple of changes that helped with the weight loss - it really wasn't huge.

1. I stopped thinking of myself as overweight. I started saying to myself out loud that "I am getting healthier" everyday. It's funny how alot of times the "wrong" kinds of food will seem unappetizing to me, and I tend to eat smaller portions, and only eat what I am hungry for when I am truly hungry.

2. I try to have protein or an Arbonne protein shake in the am instead of skipping breakfast - that gets my metabolism going. I am taking the vitamins more often.

3. I have really been using the SeaSource detox system - even just parts of it when I can't soak. It is designed to release toxins, which helps with anti-aging and energy, and if you release toxins from your liver and kidneys, you can flush more fat out.

4. This is most important - I am running after 2-3 toddlers! :lmao:

I wish I could get to the gym to firm up - I just keep neglecting to put it in my calendar like an appointment.

Have a great Monday, everyone! :grouphug:
I'd like to do the DIsney Mom thing, but I'm afraid I'm a little too inexperienced to even fill out the application.

I agree - I'm in the process of needing to make diet changes too - and I'm doing the same - looking at it as "healthy" vs "diet". So far, much less guilt.

Renee - I've got one for Nicolas!
]
OMG! He will freak out! THANK YOU!

He is also really into the Imagination Movers that just started. He saw them for the first time at the Beach. We'd been missing the Wiggles - but they are much more "cool". He loves them so much already!

What steam cleaner?:rotfl2: :lmao:

You will love that thing. I like taking my Shark Steam Cleaner out and hitting the sink and microwave. It is amazing how much more junk it cleans out.

Better hurry! Deadline is 9/18 or whenever they get 20,000 applications, whichever comes first.....

Can you imagine if sevreal of us would get it??? How funny would that be! Of course after I hit <enter> I thought of all these wonderful things I SHOULD have written! Typical!

I was hoping y'all would be on tonight - Jeff went to bed early to read and I'm just hangin out....

Oh, I lost 3.2 lbs this week! Yea me! :cheer2:

Catch y'all in the morning!
You go Kara! What is your total since you restarted?

So I wanted to post what I did today. DD9 said she needed a book cover, so I made her a cool one with HM fabric.

IMG_0792.jpg

And DH made me this neat pole for my dress form - yes it's made from duck tape, but it's really cool because you mold it around the person so it's true fit and it costs next to nothing compared to the real dress forms that cost like $150.
IMG_0795.jpg

Promise I'm going to make those cushions. I'm sitting next to the foam thing right now. I can't sleep so I'm trying figure out if I should cut the fabric now or wait until tomorrow. I need to make the practice cushion before Friday because I'm sitting on it for 3 hours during dance.
I wish I could sew - I'm not that patient! You come up with such cool things!

Only one way to find out for sure - keep that weekend with Ally in Nov. so we can meet in person!:thumbsup2

Waah!
4.gif
I want a code! Congrats Jillian!

Tina - You continually put me to shame. If Lauren needs a book covered, I either purchase one of those stretchies covers from Staples or use a plain, old boring brown paper bag. I like your way much better!

Men!:confused3 I'm with you on the bed making. Everything needs to be on straight and tucked in properly before I can get in to sleep - and then pull it all out again!

I had Lauren's open house last night. Met all of her teachers - and I LOVED them all! I was really impressed with them. I'm especially excited for French this year. Her teacher is a fireball and I'm already surprised with how much I remember from my French days. It should be fun helping Lauren. And her "team" has let us know that they're ok with kids being pulled out of school for vacations - as long as the student goes online and gets the work they'll be missing while away. Everything is online - even the workbooks! Anyway, that's a load off my mind; I'm always afraid Lauren is going to get the teachers who will be a real PITA about our Disney trip. I can't wait to go to the France pavillion in Epcot and have Lauren put her skills to use!

So I'm sitting in one of the classrooms with two moms of Lauren's friends - one of them her really good friend. And these moms are talking about getting their daughters' eyebrows bleached and/or waxed! WTH? They're 12! Now, I guess I'm lucky - I've never done anything to my eyebrows; always been told they were fine. So I don't really "get" this. Lauren's are a little dark but never in my wildest dreams would I think of doing anything about it. And I couldn't believe the one mom - whom I'm friends with. I've really been disagreeing with alot of the things she lets her daughter do. And I'm not liking the path this girl seems to be on. This is the one friend that always seems to pick a fight with Lauren over every little thing. In front of me, she's really sweet; but I've heard from Lauren and her other friends that around them she curses alot and makes fun of everyone. And her mom doesn't seem to have a problem with her acting "older" - she lets her wear eye makeup and gets her subscriptions to mags. like Seventeen and CosmoGirl - which she brings to sleepovers. One of the other moms found the mags at her house and she was NOT HAPPY! I don't know what this kid's mom is thinking -- it's called "Seventeen" magazine for a reason! I'm starting to sense that this girl is going to be the troublemaker in the group and the one that will constantly put Lauren's good judgement to the test. UGH!:headache:

Sorry for going a little off there - but what do you all think of the eyebrow thing for a 12 yr.old?

My SIL gets stupid codes weekly and forwards them with the... "can you use this" I sware! Me - not so much as one! What is up with that?

As for Lauren, I totally agree with you!

Ally and her cake (that her mother made! yea for me!).

MARTHA!:lmao:

Feeling you pain jillian--katherine was up for a good portion of the night. We are getting 2 yr old molars. Yuck!

Tim's back is SOOO much better. He can feel his foot again. I think the shot may be working. They say full effects will come in 2 weeks. I'm just happy for any little bit
We are cutting the last one, thank goodness!

Got the garage so purty!!! Both cars are in there now, plus the golf cart, with room to spare!!!

Renee - I'm wearing my Buckeye necklace today!!!! :thumbsup2 I'm not feeling too good about this game though.... :sad2: :
The garage is my next project...

I am going to OH next weekend. Let me know if you need any "football gear" Kara. They are in full swing now.

Cammie, thanks for the updates from Kara! I am watching a AK video on travel channel right now. I just can't get enough!

Renee - welcome back! you are almost here!

Tina - good luck with all those cushions :wizard:

Jillian, how was the shopping trip?

Laura - thanks - we are getting excited. I'll be posting a TR on the community board when we get back. I'll post links for everyone who is interested.

YUKK - Lindsay's sitter is outside smoking on the patio and the smoke is blowing into my bedroom where I am - gotta go close the window

Okay - gotta go get ready for a church meeting - have a nice evening, everyone!

Hi everyone! TGIF!! Lucky Kara and Debbie to be in WDW!

Cammie - Poor Lauren. Bad sitiatuon for her, and I hope that she is feeling better about it, and not being harassed by him this weekend. He does sound very selfish. He'll get his.

Tammie - Your trip is getting close! I bet you are so excited about getting away!

Hi to Laura, Jillian, Renee, Tessa and Tina, too, and anyone else I have missed!

No Friday night football tonight. I am so glad it's the weekend! I am tired.

Good morning everybody! I agree Pam - TGIF!!!!:cool1: (I'm tired too!)

It's freezing this morning! Only 38 degrees!!!:scared1: I felt like I could have put the girls in their winter coats; if they had winter coats that fit! Have to add that item to my list of things to purchase.:headache:

So the girls are with their dad this weekend. It still has yet to be decided if Lauren will go though. She's sleeping over at a friend's tonite and I'm going to a movie with the mom. We're seeing "The Women"; but it's the later show - 9:45 -- I hope I can stay awake! Tomorrow I'm supposed to go with another friend and her sister down to the Cape for an overnight. I really don't feel like going; it's a two hour drive just to go shopping and out to dinner. I so much rather just stay home and get things done. I really do like having the house to myself when the girls are at dad's. I can't seem to work up the enthusiasm to go away for the night. I guess I'll just see how I feel later about it.

Renee - Good job catching up! Keep going!!!!

Tina - I'm "spitting" right along with ya! I'm so jealous of everyone at Disney this week!

Hi Tammie, Laura, Jillian, Tessa, Pam!

Have a good day everyone!

add me to the club of those who are jealious of Kara and Debbie. just watched the travel channels Disney's Best Kept Secrets. Oh now I want a DVC. Okay I just want to have a trip to plan lets be honest.

The Shopping trip went well.I scored at sears Lands end was having 70%off of the summer clearence:cool1: I paid Zip because I had a Gift card. 4 shirts and a pair of pants for 24 dollars! WooHoo!!!!!

Cammie- Yes it was FREEZING this AM.It was 63 in my house when we were awakened by Badookie because he was cold. It is only 56 now,but I love it. I get more done when it is cold outside.

Renee- Glad you are back! How did Mia's picture come out?

Tina- You amaze me with all of the sewing you do. You will have to give me a lesson someday.

By the way why don't us MA girls get together for a drink? We could find a central meeting place and gab!

Okay off to do more planning!

Received texts from:

Kara - who is at DHS today and tearing through the place. Says it's hotter today. Was at Epcot last night; sent me a long text, listing all the drinks she and Jeff were having!:drinking1

Debbie - is having a "sunny & magical" time. Has the pirates fw cruise tonite; then checks into the GF tomorrow. Still has not met up with Kara. She said to say "HI" to you all and she misses us!

Stayed tuned for more updates! (god bless unlimited texting! )

just wait Cammie and Jillian, the warm weather is on its way. It is almost 85 out right now.

okay starting to feel bad. We had pushed back the idea of taking a trip for the 10th anniversary for a pool then that took a backseat when Tim got hurt. I feel like I need to plan something besides going out to dinner. I was going to have our wedding blessed in the catholic church but that's out the window too because Tim got hurt. It is amazing all that this stupid back injury has pushed back. (Oh BTW I am going thru the conversion classes. haven't decided if I will finalize or not- that will come to me) I am just at a loss. Last year we went to a spa together. I just don't want to spend a lot of $. I have been giving to a lot of other people but I need to take time for Tim and me. I have a month to pull something together.

Youu guys are awesome for letting me vent

:scared1: That's winter here! I hope it's a cooler fall/winter for us. We are having beautiful weather since the hurricane last week. An overnight w/girlfriends sounds fun! I don't know about The Women! Need to check it out....I couldn't stay awake for the late show. I struggle w/the matinees!:rotfl2:

add me to the club of those who are jealious of Kara and Debbie. just watched the travel channels Disney's Best Kept Secrets. Oh now I want a DVC. Okay I just want to have a trip to plan lets be honest.

I'm w/ya, sister! I am so ready to go somewhere. Anywhere. Right now I don't want a family vacation or couples vacation. I want a ME vacation. My family has been driving me insane lately....them and work....

By the way why don't us MA girls get together for a drink? We could find a central meeting place and gab!!

You should! I forgot how close you are? How close are you?? Great job on the shopping bargains!:thumbsup2

Stayed tuned for more updates! (god bless unlimited texting! )

Thanks for those updates! I just shot them each a text, letting them know I am thinking of them.

just wait Cammie and Jillian, the warm weather is on its way. It is almost 85 out right now.

That's about what we have as a high, then about 60 at night.

I think we are going to go to a Balloon Festival tomorrow night. The weather is perfect for it. Today, I'm leaving early to pick up Megan from school, grab a bite and drop her off at church. They're doing some event downtown, spending the night at a hotel, then not coming back until after dinner tomorrow night. The bad thing is that she has band practice tomorrow AM. I need to pick her up in the AM, take her to practice, then drop her back off downtown afterwards. No football tonight, but next week is our homecoming. It's huge.

I'm trying to convince Jeff that we need a new bed for our bedroom - KING size this time.
I'm right there with you. AT the condo we had a king for a week... let's just say that battle might not be that hard! :rotfl2:

Jeff and I were saying that all those people who need to be rescued during a hurricane, that had a mandatory evacuation order, should be fined a very hefty fine, and thrown in jail until they can pay. Period. They should not be allowed to put the rescuers' lives at risk because of their own stupidity. And I think it should be a fine of like $5K or something very serious. That would make people stop and think before "riding out" the next hurricane.
I agree. While in FL the local news covered a TX family that were living on their BOAT with their family - like 4 kids! That was just totally unacceptable and should be labeled child endangerment in my book! :snooty:

Cakes - really cute cakes! I used to do cakes when the kids were little - loved it until I took a cake decorating class and I had to do a cake every week - I got burned out - But I did acquire more skill which I don't use! :rotfl2:
]
Glad you mentioned that point. I had wanted to take a class, but I think that might do the same to me!

p10057658000_detail.jpg
I bought this for Elizabeth. I remember when I had mine when I was a kid and I LOVED it!!! It's so tiny and cute!
I bought Mia the one that was on sale - the Tropical themed one for $8!!! I took that $20 like the one you got right out of my cart! :rotfl2:

I had this too (when I was a baby) and my kids played with mine when they were babies!!!
p10054276000_detail.jpg
Mia has that now. My SIL got it for her - she loves it!

OK, here goes....

Renee - throw some laundry in NOW, then head out and weed the beds. Come in and throw laundry in dryer, another load in washer. Out to finish the beds.

Come in, take a break and call dentist and reschedule PAP. Throw more laundry in.

Carlos can trim bushes and clean garage.

Do you have the seed already? If so, head out and seed, then water. If not, do this on your way back from getting car cleaned. See below.

Finish digging up irises and lilies.

Done outside.

When kids are all up from naps, take car and have someone clean it!!! I treat myself to this about every 3-4 months. It's usually about $25 and they wash outside and hand dry it, vacuum, clean windows, clean dash, etc. Well worth it for me!

Finish laundry and fold and put away.

Done for today!!!

Tomorrow, work INSIDE on picking up and cleaning out kids' closets. AFTER you clean out closets, THEN go shopping for fall clothes.

It's so much easier to plan someone else's day!!! :rotfl2: Seriously though, just take it one step at a time, and then cross off your list. Once you get 2 or 3 things done, you'll feel so much better because you'll see that you've gotten something accomplished!!!

As for the diet and doing something for YOU, just sit down when the house is quiet, and plan what you want to do. Set a START date, and do it! Put the kids to bed and take a hot bubble bath - especially if you've worked out in the yard today, it'll make you feel so much better!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Holy CRUD!!!! you are insane!!!!! How will you get all of this done?
We have a rule here I do inside things he does outside things. We are now splitting the laundry. He will put it in in the AM I change it out fold put away etc.... Have that MAN help you!!!!

!
Please, girl. You think I get help from him! :rotfl2: I love him to pieces but his "job" is to work, all else is me. We negotiated that on the front end so no use in getting mad at him! It does get frustrating some days!

Hi all! It was a crappy day at work and I had to work late. My casserole I fixed last night and had Darrin put in the oven was awful. It was the first time I'd tried that recipe. Taylor had Girl Scouts and Darrin brought her since I was STILL working. I picked her up tho. I feel whipped. Thanks for listening.:
Sorry for the bad night - hope you are doing better!

Tammie - happy Late Anniversary to you!
Kara - happy anniversary!

Facebook are you guys kidding me? I have no time to DIS do you think I'm going to Facebook too!:snooty: I'll warn you I have an account but NEVER check it - fyi. I registered to look at a friend's baby pictures and it has been the biggest PITA!

HiRenee- I am a list maker, too. I make lists of my lists. I feel lucky if I get 1/2 my stuff done. I'd like to think that if I didn't work FT, I could get so much more done. I just hate being away from my house for almost 12 hrs a day, 5 days a week. On Darrin's next promotion, I am going to get a job w/the school district so that I can have shorter days and be off in the summer. That is my goal. Hang in there!!!! Just cross off one or two things and it will make you feel a little less overwhelmed.
Yes, I have things on my list from long time ago. I recently went back to one handwritten FC planner. Loving that - I think it keeps me more focused/positive.

I got some good news last night about our Nov.trip. I've always been on the fence about having a nurse come with us to help with Amanda because I really hate the intrusion and just want it to be family time. But it has just gotten so much harder to take care of her by myself for a whole week. I finally broke down and asked the one nurse who I wouldn't mind coming - she's a good friend and a little bit younger than me - so she's fun; and GREAT with Amanda. She told me last night that she would be able to come for our last weekend - so I'll have her help Friday through Sunday. She's already purchased her airline tix!:woohoo: Having help for three days is going to give me such a break! And to have another adult flying home with us will relieve Lauren of alot of the responsibility I usually dump on her. I'm soooo relieved!
:
I'm glad you will have the help! That sounds great! Isn't your sister with you the first part for 3 days or so? Would she be of any help?

hello

kara that stupid facebook has dragged me in. i am spending way to much time on the computer. I thought oh i'd find a few friends out here not I have 42 + friends on there and there are more people that I want to find. aghhh there isn't enough time in the day.

Congrats on the steamer I knew you'd love it.

I'd bettter run. Yoga starts in 20 min at the Y.
Good for you about Yoga!!!! :cool1:

Yes, VERY cheesy video - and quite frankly, the rooms are not that impressive. When I go to Disney, I don't want to stay at a "Hilton" type resort. That's why I don't like the Contemporary - it's not really that contemporary anymore, and it's just a blah room. Doesn't seem to have the Disney spirit or theming. I'm one of those who likes the cheesiness of Disney rooms......

Jillian - you go girl!!!! Getting all those great deals! :thumbsup2
Well, I had wondered if we should do Poly or Contemp just because of the location - guess you just settled that one... :rolleyes1

Megan's dress is beautiful - a royal blue, halter-style, thin material. I am bad at descriptions, but I will need to post a pic. I am never good at taking the time to do that! My baby is a 36DD! She is a size 14. Her eating habits are awful. I was hoping w/marching that she would lose a little more weight than she has. She is very secure in herself, and is a beautiful girl inside and out, but I think she was feeling discouraged when we were looking at dresses and everything is micro-mini. She said she is going to go the gym w/us. I hope so. I don't ever want her to be sad or feel bad about herself! She rarely ever does, which is odd for any teenager. I think that most of them have self-esteem in insecurity issues. I know that I had some as a teen.

Tammie - I wasn't trying to make you old! 28 years is quite an accomplishment! I was hurrying to get my post done this AM!

Jillian- Yoo hoo on the codes and the good deals you are getting!

Kara - Sorry about your car! I am so excited for you about your trip!! (Did you pack the steamer?:rotfl2: ) Seriously - good for you! Can I borrow it??

Cammie - Oh, the fun is just beginning about the clothes. It gets even better! Peeking in the school windows. Now that's a thought.....

Laura - That's exactly why I haven't gotten on the Facebook yet. I know I'll get sucked in eventually.

I HATE Bratz! The one toy that is banned in our house! They look like little tramps.

Thanx everyone for the magical wishes! I WILL meet up with Debbie even if I have to stalk her through all four parks!!!!
I agree about the Bratz!

And for stalking Debbie - make sure you check those bushes! :rotfl2: :lmao:
