Kara - I figured putting up the pics would be like chum in the water - you didn't even bite! That funeral must have you a little off. So sorry to hear about that. Never a fun thing to dress up for.

Cammie - Oh, me too. Once I saw it I was like WTH? Carlos got a good chuckle too. And to top it off, the lip gloss is the ball roll one. Funny thing is I can manage to get the teeny bopper package there but not a soul ever cards me for drinks. Maybe that is because they see my two kids with me and figure regardless, I could just use a good drink!

Off to try to get some sleep - hope you are all doing good.

Debbie, awesome deal - you have until Sun night at 10 to do it if you are going to. Oh, and the 45 deg? It is that cold at night - even had frost warnings the other night, but it was 85 during the day today - it's like that here in the mtns. We sleep with our windows open, then close them in the morning - don't need much AC.

I'm confused - don't you have your rooms already?

Renee, hope you get some news soon. The BCPs - funny at first - then kind of sad and scarey. Either they really missed the mark with their HSM marketing, or they really are marketing to 13 yr olds! Sorry to hear about your friend. You are a good listener - that's what she needs.

What is everyone doing for the holiday weekend?

We are heading to Eugene Sat.- 3 hrs away - with one of Jim's coach friends for an Oregon Ducks game - it's a late game, so we're spending the night - the only rooms we could get were at Motel 6 At least we got those - we couldn't find anything within 2 hrs of the place - one desk clerk told me they book up 9 months in advance on game day.

I look forward to shopping and eating somewhere besides here.

Okay, getting sleepy - I'll be back tomorrow - DP anyone?

Well a busy day here today going to the bounce house place and then to lunch and then who knows it is so nice out we may go to the park.

Jillian - Love me some JBJ!!!! He's so purty!

Did you see the interview with him on 60 minutes a few months ago? They showed his house and it's totally not what I expected. Very elegant palace. I knew it would be awesome, but not so stuffy.

Off to the gym in about 1/2 hour, that will make 3 times this week! I'm suddenly okay with the JC diet again. Yesterday I didn't even eat all my food and I was full all day. Finally!

To lose one pound/week you must burn 3500 calories MORE than you consume. The average person burns 2000 calories per day. So do the math. I'm on 1200 cal/day which means I'm burning 800/day toward that 3500. Times 7 days is 5600 cals/week, plus 200 per workout = an extra 600 per week so a total of 6200/cal per week = 1.77 lbs per week. Now if I can just step up my workout to one more/week I could conceivably lose 1.85 lbs per week. If I can just up my calories burned per workout to 250, that would be 1000 cal/week burned by exercise or 7600/week which would bump me to just over 2 lbs per week lost!

OK, I just confused myself with all that!!!!

Now watching Hurricane Hannah - looks like she's gonna cause some problems next week for Florida!

I'm seriously watching Gustav and Hannah too. I'm honestly more worried about Hannah coming west across Fl to us. They aren't talking about Hannah too much. I'm hoping once the am update comes in from the NHC that we can learn more.

I'm seriously watching Gustav and Hannah too. I'm honestly more worried about Hannah coming west across Fl to us. They aren't talking about Hannah too much. I'm hoping once the am update comes in from the NHC that we can learn more.

Yikes keeping my fingers crossed. I am hoping that Gustav isn't bad because if it is they will cancel the RNC and then we will have to deal with this mess for longer. They are closing streets all over the place for this one. The protesters are salivating at the chance to disturb our lives. Keep my fingers crossed all is well

We had our open house last night. We have 20 kids in her class and she got the "tough" teacher. That's a good thing though. She's tough for all the right reasons.

Off to WI for the weekend. It's a bummer that Debbie and I are so far apart. When we are in WI we are closer but still 4 hours apart. At least I am in the same state as a fellow CFWW.

As for the dieting that is too confusing for me although I am going to go to Big Lots today and see what they have for NS food they get a new shipment in a week and it is SUPER cheap!!!!

I have not even been to the gym just the mall and to the park with Badookie that should give me a workout!

Jillian, ANY exercise is good! I blew off the gym today because the stupid electrician was supposed to be here "first thing in the morning." He still hasn't showed! But I got my floors swept and mopped and I've vacuuming now. Plus dusted, cleaned my kitchen counters, and wiped down all the window sills! We have really deep window sills and Bucky likes to put his front paws on there to look out. Needless to say, they get pretty yucky!

So maybe not 200 calories like on the elliptical, but I'm sweating like a pig, so I'll take that as a good workout!

And good find on the NS food at Big Lots! Who knew?!

Yes, I'm worried about everyone in Lousiana right now! Gustav looks like he's gonna be nasty!

Laura - glad you met Beth's teacher. Like you said, there's nothing wrong with the "tough" teacher, especially at this age. They seem to have better control of the class. And kids this age don't seem to dislike their teachers anyway, so I'm sure Beth will love her!

I cannot believe all the storms that are developing. I got a PM from another DISer I've become friendly with - TigerKat - she's from New Orleans and her family is evacuating to MS today. It's not looking good for her to stay where she is. I feel so bad for them because she's still doing repair work on her house from Katarina. Can you keep them all in your prayers!

Our neighbor is from LA. He had all his family here after Katrina - 13 people. It was really heartbreaking. Much more than the news ever began to let on. I can't tell you the days I saw her crying under a tree in the yard because she had heard one more of their friends didn't make it out. They were in St. Benard and lost everything. The didn't take it serious enough to bring anything with them - just counted it as a family visit. Those people down there have really already been through more than their share, and I don't wish a storm like that on anyone, but NO certainly doesn't need it to go there.

They just got their house finished 4 months ago.

Cammie - I'll definately keep your friend and all the people down there in my prayers. It is an situation that their really are no words for.

I just heard today that they are already evacuating the elderly and sick, like the nursing homes, etc. It really is a horrible situation. Not that I want Gustav to hit anywhere, but hopefully it veers off toward Texas and doesn't strengthen as much as they think it will.

Jeff just got home and we moved all our chairs back out on to the porch, plus the new bar stools that came yesterday. I think they're gonna go great with everything out there.

I'm exhausted! I've gotten my whole downstairs so clean today and done 4 loads of laundry. This will leave me free all weekend to play! I just feel so good when I get this accomplished. Not as good as when I had a cleaning lady though!
