Yea! You got it! No, it would take me too long to get there to kill you, I hate to fly and that's a loooong drive! :rotfl2:

It is really 90! We get a few days where is close to 100 - it was 99 today. The low tonight is 52 though. We can usually turn the air off and open the windows at night. Last night it was only 72 at 11pm, so I left the air on.

It's getting late out there - no Jeff? The kids are gone, so I have been
paying a little special attention to Jim in between posts and his nap!:goodvibes

I get to switch our ressies from SSR to BWV in one week!

Jim wants to be near ESPN and Epcot this trip. I still need to figure out our ADRs, but we want to catch a Braves game, and the schedule isn't out yet.

Jeff drove to NC to see his sister for her son's 1st bday - that was a big battle - I didn't want to go cause Ally starts school Monday - and it's an 8 hr drive. So he went alone. And we get a girls weekend! :thumbsup2

And of course his sister and parents guilted him into it. It's really pathetic. I told him she needs to learn that things don't always go her way. We were gonna do what is best for OUR family in this case. But she is, well, she is....

I think I'm gonna go to bed and read for awhile. On book 4 of the Harry Potter series.

Holy cats! Another NIN fan that like to DIS! I'm right there with you. We're thinking of seeing Ben Folds in Oct. His last concert was great. He opened for Tori Amos. That was a million and a half years ago though.

Omg..I am as shocked as you are to find another NIN fan on the DIS. Did you have tix to the Minneapolis show that was postposed? If you can, I would highly recommend seeing them on this tour. The show I saw in CT was amazing being words. The visual effects are fantastic and Trent Reznor is unbelievably hot. I was showing my DD5 my pics of the show and she said, I know who that is, its Trent Reznor! Obviously, I don't listen to most of their music around the kids, but there are some songs that are ok for them, and its so cute to watch them rocking out. They are also White Stripes fans.

Ok, I can't believe have many pages I have to catch up on and today was a HORRIBLE day at work, so I will try to catch up and post again this weekend. I am so glad that I came back to the DIS and especially this thread. You guys are so great!!

Have a great weekend!

Good Morning Ladies!

OK, I just posted over on the Families board but I'm going to ask y'all, too (cause I totally trust my buds here! :thumbsup2 ). Am I being unreasonable being upset about 24 kids in Ally's class? What is an acceptable student/teacher ratio in your schools, for this grade level?

Got up this morning and took Bucky out to see 2 big deer in the backyard. They stop dead in their tracks when they hear us so if I don't check first out in the woods, I wouldn't even see them. They're just so pretty to see.

Also, I think I forgot to tell you that jeff and I pulled a big tick out of Bucky the other night! I found it and we're like, okay, how do we get this out? it was pretty good sized, so it's been there for awhile, about the size of a kernel of corn. So of course I do what any normal person does - I hop online to find out how to get it out without hurting Bucky! Success! Now I just need to keep an eye on him and luckily he's got short hair so we can find them easy.

OK, off to shower and get ready for the day!

Good morning!

Sorry I cut out so abrubtly last night. It was really storming and I just shut everything down. You guys teared through alot of pages!

Kara - As I had already mentioned, a class of 24 for Lauren is considered small in our school district; she has around 26-28 kids a class. But this is middle school. When she was in the younger grades, 24 to a class was the largest a class got. Are the other classes in Ally's grade just as large? That's what I would like at too.

Ok girls, I really didn't get alot of packing down yesterday. Will finish it up this morning and then I hope to be out of here by 1pm. Hope you all have a good week and everybody feels better by the time I get back - which will be next Friday.

See ya!:flower3:

Here in MA 24 to 1 is the norm I think my sister at one point had 32 to 1 in elementry school. Does Ally go to private or public school? Usually private they have smaller classes.

Sorry I ditched you guys last night my power went out and that was it for me. So I read while Mike studied for his test.

Axe murder I am not! Psycho path maybe but you all know that anyway:rotfl:

It is tax free weekend here in MA and well I think we are going to buy a new TV for our bedroom we have an old tube TV in there.

No plans for the weekend other than to plan for our trip. I also have to Email TA and have her change us back to POFQ she is going to kill me :headache:

Cammie - have a GREAT week! We'll miss you bunches!!!!!

Jillian - of course we know you're psycho!!! That's why we all get along so well! ;)

OK, I'm getting lots of posts about class size - seems to be about average. Still frustrates me though....

I'm so glad you're back, Maureen!

Seeing a deer is so much nicer than a snake! Those deer probably carry the ticks - be careful of that Lyme disease.

I do think 24 is too many, but sadly I guess that is the norm with budget cuts everywhere.

I will have to tell Mark and Lindsay that all of the Axe murderers are on another thread! :lmao:

It is always Tax free here in Oregon - I think our prices are higher to make up for it - go figure. Of course things like cars would make a big difference.

I have some work to do today, and church tonight. The kids are leaving for the ocean for a few days tomorrow, so I think I'll get some cleaning done and shampoo the carpet.

Where is Debbie?:confused3

I have the passporter also but we already used it this year and writing everything in from online is a pain. I guess I will start there. By the way just looked at ASMu and I am changing back to POFQ can't stand the thoughts of a value for 8 days!!!
!
8 days, you lucky duck!

OMG! How did you get those two teams in the same post! :rotfl:

When I was at Atlantis last year, :
OH, tell me-tell me-tell me how you liked it. I have always wanted to find someone who had been there to see what they thought.

I think we are going to join the disney movie club. It looks like a good deal.
/
I know that from time to time we get mail offers that generally give you 2 more movies free than the general plan if you just go off the website.

Oh! I have to tell you - I just announced to everyone about our meet next fall - I got the lecture from Mark and Lindsay about how "that's how people get killed" and I might be staying with an axe murder! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
:
No murderer here - obsessive worrier, but that is about it. Before all the board talk broke out about us doing a CFWW meet, I talked to Carlos about just going on a girls weekend with Cammie and maybe the season ticket holding, at disney every flipping weekend Kara. :lmao: He was hesitant but okay with that - I haven't mentioned to him it is the whole group yet. I think that has helped him not thing I'm so nuts.

Phelps won by 1/100th of a second!
They said a length of a FINGERNAIL! Carlos said it was the first time he'd ever seen the half stroke work for anyone in that situation. :confused3 Then again, he said that the guy is physically just off - which makes him a good swimmer. His torso is exceptionally long, and shorter inseam (I think he said that top half was like a 6 ft 7 persons would be and bottom like a 6 ft 1 persons - and he is 6 ft 4 inches)

What is funny is that Carlos still has that swimmer's build on his back even though it has been forever and there is a little more "padding" there.

Good Morning Ladies!

OK, I just posted over on the Families board !
class size, no idea, but that was about class size when I went though school - maybe up to 30.

Tick - dad's old trick always worked well. Heat up a needle with a flame, stick it to the tick. The tick lets go (supposadly) but I think you are suppose to do it a certain way to keep the head out - for some reason tweezers come to mind.

Bucky - I hade to crate mine when we were gone for the same reason. They diagnosed her with seperation anxiety. I didn't like the idea of doping her up, so I did that when I left after she chewed up my doorframe one day. I was terrified she would get splinters in her mouth (plus the doorframe wasn't cheap)

Good morning!
Will finish it up this morning and then I hope to be out of here by 1pm. Hope you all have a good week and everybody feels better by the time I get back - which will be next Friday.

See ya!:flower3:
Oh, I hope you have fantastic trip!!!!!! We'll miss you! :flower3:

Jillian - thanks for the offer. I might take you up on that. My DSIL is a RN at a leading hospital. She is their crash nurse, as well as Medical CCU. She is who I called - of course she sees adults - so she says "get her to stick out her tounge and see tell me how she is holding it" :lmao:

My gut was that it was a goose egg. Nicolas was so accident prone as a kid I called him "Boo-Boo" because he always has boo-boos. Mia - well, I should have reserved that name for her. That kid is a dare devil and a half. I predict stitches in 2 yrs or less. Seriously, if she could ride TOT now, she'd laugh herself silly. She is a mess!

Mia is feeling better today. It doesn't look as bad as we thought it would. Thanks so much for everyone asking. I was just worried that she had cracked her skull - I mean, I am not kidding it looked like a golf ball on her forehead under the skin and all blue (which I knew was blood). Today, it just looks like a small bump.

I told her dr. that I felt like she was okay, but I needed someone with MD behind their name to tell me that was the case. I'd hate to know that all I would have had to do was take her in to avoid something and I didn't. Better safe than sorry.

Sorry I didn't DP last night. Mom bailed on keeping the kids for us again. Carlos worked late, and then came home and worked - so I was up, just working on my canvas. I've got him working all weekend, so I'm here trying to figure out how to get the house clean for this party Tuesday with two munchkins - I mostly need to do bathrooms & floors. :sad2: Hate that job.

Okay, been working on my canvas today. Thought I had it all done, so I let it sit for a while to see what I think before I actually glue things down and seal it. Plus too I'll have to measure my lines to actually get the border and words on there correctly.

I highlighted the words with pink - toying with adding a little glitter - not too sure about that though.

Hand cut the roses to hide the flat bottoms of the princesses.

And made the roses into a boarder.

Why is it that I'm still not so sure about it. :confused3

Okay, so last night we had plans for dinner - our only chance to go out the two of us for a month. Mom didn't want to - wanted to watch the kids tonight. Okay. Fine. Carlos was ticked, but he just stayed at work longer and got more stuff done.

Today - I call. They ASKED us last weekend if they could keep Mia today (so I had plans to mop) and they would watch them both for us to go to dinner. So I call to make sure we are still on - nope - mom is in the bed. Had SF answer the phone and say she didn't feel like it but they might keep them both for a couple hours tomorrow.

You know what stinks the most - I've got to call and tell Carlos - who is going to go ballistic. :sad2:

Renee - ok, here's my thought on the canvas. I don't think, and it's strictly a personal opinin!!! But I don't think the font of her name is cutesy enough for the princesses. The font looks more modern or grown up? I don't know. Just me though.

And my mom is becoming the same way. I mean both my parents keep my sister's kids all the time, which is great cause they're only about 45 minutes away. But my mother is just getting so cranky and negative. This sounds awful but I just don't enjoy talking to her on the phone anymore! And my dad has been this way for the past several years. I mean, just real downers all the time.

Oh, and btw, they are coming down mid-Sept to watch Ally while Jeff and I do Disney. So they'll be here for a couple days before we go and then about a week when we get home. Oy vey! They wanted to come in Oct and I suggested Sept, plus we're gonna go to Ohio for Christmas this year I think. But with Christmas on a Thurs, we're gonna leave late afternoon Tues, and arrive sometime the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Then leave 2 days after Christmas. Seriously, that is more than enough time with my family!!! :rotfl2:

Jeff just called from his sisters. I asked if he was having fun. He gave the sarcastic, "oh, yeah." Heh heh heh - told him so!

so!

Yeah, I'm not nuts about the font either. It is the only one I have other than the Mickey one, so while it is the better choice, I'm really wanting that CURLZ font, but I don't have access to it. :headache:

I don't know what to do. I don't want to mount it, because I"m not pleased. Which means if I do mount it, I'll be redoing one soon. Done that too many times. :rolleyes1

Huhhhh.... why can't this be easy.

As for your parents coming down to watch Ally - is it them or Jeff's parents that have the little dog? i'm thinking it is Jeff's. But I was thinking your dad couldn't come with your mom - so now I'm all :upsidedow

How's Ally handling that she isn't going?

Renee - I used to have the curlz font before my puter crashed - it was a free download!!! Let me see if I can find it!!
