Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too (Part 2)

Kara - Ally looks so cute! I LOVE those little shoes. They caught my eye right away! She does look so grown up - especially in pose #2.

Maureen - Hi there! Hope you get to have cleaning, um, wine time again soon! :dance3:

Jillian - thanks for the AK idea. I told Carlos about it - told him to mull it over. Pro of Poly is location. Pro of AKL - is animals. We'll talk about it more next week.

Okay here is what I'm going with until I have time to redo the font. FYI - the glitter looks way more bright on these photos than it is in person. It is much MUCH more subtle. I think the flash just really sat it off for some reason. I plan on lining the new letters like these too, just to accent them.

Kara - I'm watching Fay and they are saying it should just be a rainmaker - it should be very weak by the time it gets to you - right????

I think the canvas looks great, Renee! Once you chance the font, it will be perfect.

I was working yesterday, and when I got home and went upstairs to get changed, I saw that my DH had cleaned our bedroom. What a great surprise!! It was such a disaster, I didn't know where to start...kids toys everywhere, piles of laundry, I dont even want to remember how bad it was:scared1: I freaked on him last weekend because I had cleaned the entire downstairs and I came home to a mess, so maybe that had something to do with his cleaning spree. I am going to make sure that I keep thanking him so that maybe he'll do it more often. The only thing that bothers me is that I feel like I have to yell and scream to get him to do things. I would much rather he just do it.

We have a mouse (more likely, mice.) I hate mice! DH said he saw one run through the kitchen during the day yesterday. UGGHH. Our development is only a few years old and it used to be a farm, so we have a ton of field mice around. I wish I had a cat, but I only have two big dogs that apparently don't care one bit about mice. I want to get an exterminator, but DH won't put poison down because of the kids and dogs (and b/c he is Mr EcoFriendly). We have traps down, but does anyone have any other ideas?

We had the same problem with our last house. Carlos put down sticky traps to be able to put the mice outside as he caught them. He had to check them about 3 times a day. We caught 3 and all was done. If it is any help - after about 1 year they tend to go away. Or at least they did for us.

They're saying right now that it will probably still be tropical storm strength when it gets here. And the bad part is the possibility of tornadoes. Also, the local news channels are telling us to prepare for power outages. I can hardly wait! :scared1:

Love the canvas! Ok, I get it now!

Yuck on the mice! But yea on the hubby! I also yell and scream a lot. And when he does do something noticeable and I thank him, he looks at me like I have two heads and says, "you don't have to thank me." WTH? He got home last night around 9 from his sister's in NC. The house was SPOTLESS! I get up this morning, and there's food on the counter from where he reheated dinner, and of course dirty dishes in the sink. I was so PO'd when I saw that! He was lucky he was gone by the time I got up today!

If I'm not mistaken, exterminators have very humane, eco-friendly ways of trapping mice. I watched a couple episodes of Verminators on Discovery. I'd just make a few calls and see what they say.

Florida is very green, and I try to do a little here and there. We've turned our a/c up 2 degrees, and turned the ceiling fans up higher. It's made a big differnece in our electric bills! Also, I don't like a lot of chemicals either, but I can't live without ammonia! Must have ammonia for cleaning. And I won't give up my SUV. I know, I'm one of those selfish Americans! :lmao: I feel safer in it because I sit up higher, I guess.

Dishes in the sink are my biggest pet peeve:mad: I mean, really how hard is it to put dishes in the dw? Plus, DH never had a dw at his parents house, so you would think that he would be more than happy to put dishes in a dw rather than hand wash them.

Thanks for the idea about the exterminators. I had no idea, but if I tell DH its ecofriendly, he'll be all about it. I am definitely not the ecofreak that he is, but I am trying to just do little things. I have been trying to cut out unnecessary trips in the car and put the thermostat up 2 degrees, too. (both are also good ways to save $$, so I think thats my bigger motivation.)
I am also making a bigger effort to recycle and we have those energy saving light bulbs. Thats about all I can manage right now!

Dishes in the sink? I'm with ya there. Now for the question of the day.

Ladies, when was the last time your hubby changed the roll of toilet paper. Changing means taking off the empty roll, putting on the new roll, and throwing away the old roll.

I think Jeff did it once in 2005!:rotfl2:

Why would you need to change the roll of toilet paper when you can just put the new roll on the top of the toilet and your wife will do the rest:laughing:

Seriously, I don't really remember the last time Rich did it...perhaps 2001?

I have told him before that its very frustrating to clean up the kitchen and walk in an hour later to find dishes in the sink. His response.."well, there were clean dishes in the dishwasher."

I KNOW!!! I get the same thing. Helloooooo! Put the darn clean dishes away! It's so aggravating!

This has been a fight since we moved in together he didn't have a Rolling device in his apartment so he "FORGETS" Yup forgets so I forget to wash his underwear ;)

As for Dishes in the sink I can't even get him to put them in there half the time. He does load the dishwasher when he has the energy.

Kara- Please be safe. I just want all of you to be careful. I hope you have your batteries and portable radio and flashlights all ready. Candles too!!!
What about a can opener? I am very worried about you guys. If your power goes out text one of us so we know you guys are okay!!!!!

Renee- The canvas in beautiful Mia must love it. Okay well off to clean some more.

Thanks Jillian! I think we'll be fine. The latest track actually shows it going right over Jacksonville which might be better because the tornadoes come off the northeast quadrant, so maybe we will just get wind and rain if this happens. I did go get more water, tuna, crackers, etc, just in case. I think it's going to be more scary than dangerous, kwim? We'll just stay inside and watch it blow!

Started back on JC today. So far so good! :thumbsup2 I officially gained 7.3 lbs since May! There are two bad seasons for me and eating - summer and football season! I love cookouts and cold beer in the summer, and I love football and cold beer in the fall! Hmmm, I guess it's not so much the food as the cold beer, huh? :rotfl2:

If nothing else, I at least eat healthier when I follow the JC diet. I've had two servings of fruit today and usually that's what I get in a whole week!

OK, wish us luck - I enrolled Ally back into gymnastics starting tonight!!! I had to get her a leotard on Saturday, I had totally forgotten about it! So I spent $35 on a leo and Jeff would kill me if he knew!!! Then I promptly got on ebay and got one for $12 (including shipping!) and I'm hoping to win another one for about $15 tonight.

HI Everyone!

Kara, Ally looks so cute - they grow up so fast, don't they?

Jillian, We really loved Boma for breakfast! There were more "normal" items on the buffet - dinner was very ethnic, which was interesting - just not much to my taste.

Renee, The canvas is beautiful! I love the glitter on it! Ryan found a cricut on Amazon.com - Dana says she just wants the small size. We still haven't comitted to actually buying it!

Maureen, we try to do more things that are "green" as we go along. I do get tired of people who are on their soapbox about all of this stuff and then not doing what they critcize everyone else about. ;) We are getting a kick out of the "30 mph" cars being advertised - we had a Saturn that got 40 way before everyone talked about it. I'm sure most small cars do. Our van gets about 25 on the highway - not much different.

Mice - sorry, but I use DeCon. I never have to know about it. I certainly don't want to come across a live mouse stuck to one of those traps - that is more cruel, I think, and I don't want to deal with it.

Have a nice evening, everyone - I'm going to make some calls and do some more scrapping tonight. Grilling chicken breast so we can eat up the salsa!

Dishes in the sink - I HATE that. We are lucky to have a white sink, so he always leaves the dishes in and pours Diet Coke so I have a nice ring to deal with. ERRR!

Kara - Please stay safe.

Eco - I'm so bad. I'm not budging my 70 degree therm. That was a big give for me to go from 68 degrees. Now I do have reusable bags which I love using, but I need to get into recycling our waste more - particularly plastics. I buy a lot of organics & green cleaners, but I have a nice minivan - not so good on the gas.

Dishes in the sink? I'm with ya there. Now for the question of the day.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: NEVER! Seriously - NEVER!

Started back on JC today. .
:cheer2: GO KARA!:cheer2:

Thanks for all the complements on the canvas. I think she likes it. She is WAY crabby today - bedtime is coming soon!

Tammie - I'm still going to lobby for the small new one @ michaels. you don't need the big one, but that small new one that michaels has will let you do mirror images, portrait or landscape and a paper saving option. I am serious when I tell you I never thought I woudl use those features when I bought, but man do I so wish I had that machine now.

KIM too that you can get the Princess cartridges and make your own paper dolls for Londynn.

My DH just told me that he caught a mouse this morning. We had gotten one of the DCon traps that electrocutes it and and you don't even have to see the dead mouse. Its great. Is that the one you are talking about, Tammie? I think the glue traps are bad, too. I had to see the mouse on it and it was still alive and not a pretty sight.

Once again, DD is climbing all over me so I have to go. It would be nice to just get 5 minutes to myself. Oh well, bedtime is coming soon!!

HI STRANGERS!!!

I so miss you guys!
I have been so busy and fighting this anxiety over summer ending. Sometimes I do feel like a nut case!
Once Elizabeth is back in school I am sure I will be doing my daily dising. For now I see the weather is going to be nice and I take off for the day! At night I am wiped out!!!! Sorry I haven't kept up.

Now I am worrying about Kara! I hope it misses her!
I feel bad I didn't tell Cammie to have a nice trip to the Jersey shore. Did I miss anything else big?
I feel like I haven't talked to you guys in weeks. Plus, I think I am going to Wisconsin again on Thursday morning.

Be back soon I hope.

Hi Everyone! I just have to talk about this, it was so wonderful!

I just gave myself an entire spa treatment, start to finish - it is a detox to pull toxins out of your system. Anyway, I took an hour for myself and did the dry brush, massage oil, mud mask, sea salt scrub, detox wash and soaked in sea soak. When I got out, I wrapped in a terry robe and had some herbal tea, let my skin dry, then put on the gelee and re-mineralizing lotion. My whole body is tingly and warm - just like if I had gone and paid $200 for this treatment. This will be something I definately make time for!

Too bad Jim went to bed early - this one would be fun to do together with the kids gone. :lovestruc

Debbie, you have this - you'll have to try it!

BTW - Anyone have TGM? I purchased, but I don't really see what he does for you - I might get a refund. I thought it would be an automated tour plan, but it looks like its just advice, and then you do your own planning. I guess knowing when to go where would help?

Okay, I'll go back and catch up now.

Dang Renee, I would be FREEZING if the therm was at 70 in the Summer! I like 74, but we keep it at 75.
In the winter, I like 72, but we keep it at 70. Jim would like 68.

Paper dolls! I didn't even consider that fact! Only with the new small one at michaels?

My DH just told me that he caught a mouse this morning. We had gotten one of the DCon traps that electrocutes it and and you don't even have to see the dead mouse. Its great. I didn't know about that mouse trap - it sounds better. I only knew about the DeCon poison. I KNOW. We haven't had a mouse in this house yet. There are alot of cats in the neighborhood - maybe that helps.

Kara, you go girl! Please stay safe - I feel bad about kidding around - that storm turned out to be deadly - I think the media down played it a little?
