Hey everyone! I haven't posted in forever (not since there was a new thread) but I was on the Dis today and just wanted to stop in and say hi. I don't know a lot of you, but hopefully I will get to know you.

My 3 year broke his leg, so our summer is basically over now:sad2: . Its too much effort to take a 5 year, 2 year old, and 3 year old in a wheelchair out, so I suspect I will be spending more time on the computer now.

Hi Debbie, Pam, and Tammie:goodvibes How are you all doing?

Maureen

Maureen - hi, and sorry to hear about your little one. I'm sure you will come up with creative things to do. Hope the leg heals quickly.

Tammie - I actually logged on to tell you a little I found out about the cricut.
The one I have retails at $199 and can cut up to 5.5 Tall by something smaller than 5.5 width. The new one exclusive to Michaels retails at 299 (sale this week for $269) and can do portrait or landscape, so up to 11.5x5.5 and can also do mirror image as well as a paper saving function. Basically taking away all my gripes of "I love it but I wish..."

I spent last night trying to convince Carlos that I needed to sell mine on EBAY and get the new one. He agreed until I told him the price difference. :sad2: I agree with him, that I kinda can't get it - but I SO WISH I had know that was in the pipeline. :sad2:

800 mg of Motrin taken :thumbsup2 , hopefully this headache will give up soon.

Hey Maureen! Oh, I hate it for the little guy! How on earth did he break his leg! Sending lots of  for a speedy recovery (and wishing you lots of patience, too!);)

Well, I was at work at the time of the "incident", and there are conflicting reports about how the injury happened. DH was downstairs getting a diaper, and the kids were upstairs. He thought Ryan fell off of the bed, but the next day, Ryan said that his sister pushed him. I tried to get the truth out of her, but she denies she did. I think that she did.

Kara...I definitely need patience (and lots of it!!) Thanks for the well wishes.

Renee - so sorry you're not feeling well today! Try to lay down when Mia naps...

Maureen - oh, I'm sure it's not the first time the big sister took a stand! And probably won't be the last, huh? :rotfl: And I wouldn't fess up either if I were her! It's probably good you weren't there when it happened. I don't know if I could handle it to see a little one it pain like that! I'm sure your DH knew immediately that something serious was wrong?

It is pouring here right now!!! I want to go to the gym today, but I'm thinking of a nap at lunchtime instead! I love to nap when it's raining! All snuggly under the covers! :cloud9:

OK, so I took the first step and called JC and got an appt for Saturday morning. I'll get the food, and start on Monday, and then all appts will be on Tues nights after that. My goal for the first week is 3 lbs. If I can see that happen, I'll be back on track.

Think I'm gonna try to get some stamina back on my home elliptical, then get back to the gym on my lunch hours starting next week. Speaking of which, guess I'll get the sneaks on and hop on now for a few minutes....

So glad you are back!!!!!!!

Hi ladies!
I am still fighting the "dark side" but hopefully it will pass in a couple days. I really hate this feeling. You so want to rationalize out the anxiety but I just can't! I am sure you guys are used to this from me by now! Darn hormones! Maybe I should lay off the caffeine as well but I am a coffee addict.
I got some bad news this morning about a college friend who's Mom is going to die from a blood vessel breaking in her brain. She just lost her Dad two years ago and this was completely out of no where. Her Mom is young like my Mom and I just feel so badly for her. Doesn't help with my state of mind much either.

Off to do errands and then hopefully something fun in the afternoon. We will see. I am working on getting past this mood. Sorry to lay it all on you guys!

Kara...like your siggie!

Renee..sorry about your woas buddy.

Jillian.. Glad your trip might be back on!

Tammie.....Glad you are hanging in there. Good luck with business. I had no bites on that email I sent out last month. I talk it up as well and nothing.

Cammie....nice "kiddie" cup! We just bought a new blender so maybe I will make some goodies here.

Laura! Hi!!!

Hi Pam! So glad you have been sticking around again.

I new we would lose Pam1 when her trip was over that little brat! I am gonna email her.

Tammie - Running around after little ones will take the weight off! The foot spa party sounds wonderful! Idea - bring a suitcase of products to our CFWW meet, give a foot spa after our long days in the park, and I bet you'll have loads of new customers! JK. Sounds good, but you need to take time off!

Cammie - What a cool mom! Thanks for the JB CD tip! Our Best Buy had them on sale, too. I got both girls one, and when I told Darrin what I was doing, he hinted that they had a Pantera CD on sale too, so everyone got a treat! How fun about the drinks in the movie! We liked the 2nd Sisterhood movie as much as the first. I really would love a little of that rain you're having. We are supposed to have temps in the mid 80s this weekend!:woohoo: That is, if they haven't changed the forecast since yesterday. Hope not!

Kara - :worship: Wonderwoman! That's all I have to say. Oh, and that I now have a craving for monkey bread. Uggh. Good thing I don't make it! MIL makes it as part of her Christmas breakfast tradition.

Jillian - Yea! on the baby news! I hope that you get to go to WDW in November.

Renee - I hope that Mia feels better! Are we going to see your finished product - the canvas?

Meg stayed home from marching this AM. She came home vomiting and "other" last night. We're not sure if she is dehydrated or has a touch of something. Poor thing. She had problems on the field last night, but stayed until the end of practice. YUCK.

Hi Debbie and Maureen! I'll read your posts later. Gotta run! It took me over 30 mins to get this done. I am at work...:rolleyes1

TGTF!!!! I am so ready for the weekend.

Maureen, Sorry to hear about your son's leg! He's so young! We've never dealt w/a broken bone, knock wood! Welcome back! Cute pic!

Debbie - Sorry to hear about your friend's mom. That's very sad. Cheer up! Sending hugs your way!

Renee - You feel better, too!

Kara - I like your siggie, too! It just takes me days to notice stuff. What's this w/everyone but us getting rain? We've had patchy rain, but it seems like it misses our street!:sad2:

Debbie...sorry to hear about your friends mom and also about battling the "dark side." I know exactly what you mean. It's so hard to understand why you feel the way you do and you wish you could make it just go away. I deal with those feelings a lot. It's great to be back.

Kara...my DD has be being really rough lately, so I really just hope this is a wake up call for her to cut it out. She hasn't been herself lately at all. I think she might be getting nervous about starting kindergarten. I am glad that I wasn't there. I heard my son crying on the phone and it was really upsetting. When I heard him, I knew he did break his leg. I never heard any of my kids cry like that (and hopefully, never will again.)

I am going to try to catch up on the thread a little. I have to say, everyone seems so nice. I think this thread attracts the nicest ladies!

I just have to share this story, it made me so mad! My DH took off last Wednesday to take my DS to get his cast. When he went back to work on Thursday, a lady that works on his floor (that he barely knows) knocked on his office door. She asked him what happened to my son and then proceeded to tell him that kids don't break bones, that he was at fault for my son's injury, and that he should rethink his parenting style.

What is wrong with people? At one point, DH said that he was downstairs when he heard DS scream and this "lady" said, "I bet you felt horrible didn't you? And you should." I just love how people are so critical and judgemental. She should try watching 3 kids 5 and under and see how easy it is. DH told me this woman is a horrible employee and his coworker has been trying to fire her for some time. Maybe she should concentrate on working and not criticizing other's parenting while at work. Just an idea.

Seriously??? What is wrong with people? I pretty much go with the flow, but I so would have gone off on that woman! As a former HR manager, I feel she should be written up for something like that. No employee can discuss another employees personal life in a derogatory fashion.

It's funny though how my opinion of kids and parenting has changed so dramatically since having my own. I remember watching children having tantrums in public, and saying "MY child will never act that way." Yeah? My child BECAME that child!!! :rotfl2:

Cammie and Kara look at your reservations for November.

We changed to ASMu from POFQ and we were orig. paying 2800 now we are paying 1400- deposit I am down to 1200 Tabitha also decided not to go with us. She cannot miss school which makes me so sad. I am saving 1400 Wow what a way to save some dough this includes dining!!!!!!

I remember that you understood my craziness!

RE:Coworker! OMG! What a *****! Give me a break! I would have lost it on her.

Good for you Jillian!:cheer2:

Hey everybody! Made it through the tennis lesson - gorgeous and sunny! It's now thundering and pouring!:headache: We're supposed to go to a friend's later this afternoon for swimming and barbecue - not sure if we'll get the swimming in!

So many posts.......

First - hi Maureen! Sorry to hear about your DS's leg. Dealing with young ones in casts is NO FUN!

Debbie & Renee - Hope you guys get over your blues!

Jillian - Good for you with the Disney savings!:thumbsup2 My trip is booked with my DVC pts. so those deals don't help me!

Kara - Ok - that monkey bread recipe sounds delish! I may have to make that when we come back from Jersey!

Pam - I'm glad you got the cd on sale. It's been playing non-stop in our house; Lauren and her friends now know all the words and we wish we could see them again in concert!

And -- Joe has now replaced Zac Ephron as my inappropriate crush......... (don't worry - he's 19!;) )

LOL- glad I'm not the only dirty "old" lady around here.

Maureen sorry about the cast. We had a cast on Beth for six weeks on both legs. It was during winter thankfully. Hope he's got a really good itch stick

Debbie sorry to hear about your friend.

Kara- Way to go. I hope JC is better andyou make your goal.

Jillian that sounds like a boat load of savings.

Off to the YMCA--today is open swim. Then PTO night at school. My first event. Still a little nervous.

I had forgotten about the suites at AS - did you know that on a 5 night stay in May 09 - they run only $500 total trip more than a preferred room? It said queen bed, pullout bed (double) and two twin pullout chairs. I need to mention that to my neighbor.

4 motrin, 2 tylenol and nothing. ERRR. Maybe i need water....

I am so glad that you mentioned that you were an HR manager, because I told my DH he should go to HR about the situation. Of course, he is so laid back, he is not going to pursue it. He did mention it to her supervisor, though. I am with you on opinions re:parenting pre and post-parenthood. Sometimes I hear things come out of my mouth and I can't believe I am saying them...I sound like my parents!

I was telling my sister about my husbands coworker and she made a really good point. First of all, you can never judge anyone because you really don't know what their life is like "behind closed doors." Also, if people were just a little more kind and understanding and treated others how they would like to be treated, our society would be a much better place. It seems to me that a lot of times, people try to make themselves feel better by putting others down.

Did you ever try Excedrin? That works best for my headaches. Since you've taken the motrin and the tylenol already, maybe drink a caffeinated beverage? (I am a pharmacist, so that is my both my professional and personal recommendation!)

I get headaches and they really suck. I had one a few weeks ago that lasted 3 days. That's the worst, when you wake up day after day with the same headache. Hope you feel better soon!
