Congrats to your SIL!!! It is too bad you don't live closer!

I will tell you this regarding the trip - I'm super bathroom low maint. I'm not a primper. 15 minutes - shower, hairwash, bit of makeup (mainly to not look like I've just been socked in both eyes)- done.

Good - leaves more time for me in the bathroom! Afterall, I AM the single one - told you this is a combination "control freak get together/Disney manhunt for Cammie" trip.

Bummer! You are right though she will need the help after she gets home. I had a ******l delivery with Elizabeth and C-Section with Matthew and the C-Section recovery was BRUTAL!!!!!

Don't be jealous - but I had two very delightful deliveries with both my girls. (and I LOVED being pregnant! ) They were both induced, but I had an epidural, which worked perfectly for me. I pushed for an hour with Amanda; Lauren came out after FOUR pushes.(figures - I tell her she has such a big mouth, she couldn't wait to come out and start screaming!) They were both big girls too: Amanda was 8lbs.,9oz.; Lauren was 9lbs.4oz. Yeah - I'm a mighty woman!

Same here. BUT don't you think if you had a C the first time with only one it would have been better? I thought that was a big part of my problem. BUT she definately is going to need some help right away. :rolleyes1

I just got a phone pix of the baby. BEAUTIFUL! Looks like her mom - he he!

CONGRATS TO THE NEW AUNTIE!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

OH Cammie - I think I just might have to hate you now!

Pregnancy #1 ended in a miscarrage.

Pregnancy #2 was filled with spotting & issues (I accidentally got pregnant the month after the MC) and told not to expect it to go to term. Seriously, I was diagnosed pre-eclamptic at 29 weeks - day after I quit work to "get things done" and slapped on complete bedrest - allowed one 5 minute shower every 3 days! At 37 weeks my bp was averaging 180/135, and I was showing too much protein in my urine, so I was induced. Sat at 4 cm dilated all day; epidural #1 - wet tap, epidural #2 only took on my left side - had it "refreshed " 4 times - and I'm very pain tolerant. 19 hours of labor - prepping for the OR at 1:30 in the morning, his heart rate became very distressed, I dilated to 10 while the Dr. was scrubbing in, 4 pushes, 1 episiotomy, 1 vaccum - out. All in under 19 minutes. Then we had a big pathological ABO blood incompatibitiy issue. Almost had to transfuse him at 24 hours. They expected severe mental retardation - but he is fine. Spent a week in the hospital isolet receiving 2 bili lights and a biliblanket - got to quit the testing at 2 weeks - then life got normal. But going home minus a baby is no fun! :sad1:

Pregnancy #3 was easier. In the beginning - bleeding again, went to ER to be prescribed pain pills (which I was allergic too so I didn't take them, Thank God) and told I had had a completed miscarriage. Went a week later to my dr. to get an ultrasound before doing the D&C - nope, still pregnant. My miracle baby :lovestruc. Had Preeclapsia again - :headache: bedrest for 3 weeks - schedule induction at 38 1/2. After 12 hours, threw in the towel to find via Csection that her head had been stuck in my pelvic bone. Seriously, she had a little mark from it. Dr. said women have one of 4 pelvis cavities - and i had the oddest, plus a tilted uterous, so ....

Yada, yada, yada.... Carlos got a vasectomy.

Yeah, I'm a drama queen! :rotfl:

Oh - and thanks for all the congrats. She is beautiful!

Gabriella weighed 6 lbs 13 oz at 37 weeks. She is doing fine. 19 inches long. Tons of curley hair - and I sware she is the spitting image of her mom!

Oh my! I had issues but nothing like that!

okay after reading for over a million zillion post, i'm here. just a quick stop I will have to think about all of the topics before I post.

Debbie where in WI is the cabin again??? The girls are going to go to the lake with my mom maybe a road trip to WI???

Well that was just scary!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We just came up from the basement. Our tornado sirens went off! I have lived my whole life in this house, have heard the ten o'clock test once a month but NEVER have I ever heard it go off for real!:scared1: :scared1: Oh well...I think it's over. Yeah! The kids are a bit freaked but hopefully everything will be in one piece when the dust clears!

Mukwonago! Come on over!!!!

Debbie - glad to hear that you guys are okay. The sick thing here is that we hear them so much, you tend to drown them out. Isn't that bad! Especially February. Jan & Feb are crazy weather here.

And for the record, that is one reason I'd rather not do a group trip Jan & Feb. I know that Cammie mentioned the bad weather you guys could have up north, but down here - we get our bad weather Jan & Feb - either tornadoes or snow/ice and generally it alternates back & forth. Since we don't deal with ice that much, we have practically salt brine and that is it, so even 1/4 inch criples the city. They will shut down interstates and ground many flights. The airports do a better job of being open, but the interstates that feed into it close quite often - it is one of the city's worst.

I've been checking on things for our family trip and I think I will pull some numbers. I"m betting that with the economy not doing the best, Disney might come out with some really good deals during value season - and I'm betting that would very much include free dining. If not, Kara & Cammie offering up those AP passes would definately make it good - and if you can get a deal to stay at somewhere nice vs. POP for practically the same money that is great! Especially when it is divided amoung a few people.

Seriously, when else can you stay so cheaply at a nicer resort than when you are spreading the cost out with other people. And if we do go in Sept, I think the likelihood of getting free dining is very high and that is a $40 savings per day. So you could be looking at what - a whole Disney trip for under $400 base maybe plus transportation?

How about this, I'm fairly committed to going. Already got the green light from the hubby (green light and rolley eyes), but I have a friend and we plan things like this and they never come to be. What I will challenge you all to do (and I'm just being honest here) is to REALLY think if you REALLY want to go - and if you do - great! LETS GET TO PLANNING. And if in your heart of hearts, this isn't right for you or your family, there isn't a soul here who would hold it against you. Just my preference is to be honest about it upfront rather than say YES on the front end and then back out later.

Only each of us knows what works out for our family and our situation. We're all buds here - and would obviously all love to get together - but not at the expense on stressing out a "member" or putting strain on a family. I hope this is coming across right and not in the wrong way, because I really just mean it honestly:grouphug:

I'm am so stinkin excited about this trip! :cool1: What other opportunity would I have to go to Disney without my family and not feel guilty that I'm spending a ton of money (because spread amoung a lot of us, it would be so much cheaper than it generally would). When else would I go and just do things for me. When would I go and just do shopping if I wanted. When would I go and do anything I wanted. :rotfl:

My experience from Houston was great. First time I did a non-family trip. It was so refreshing being there to do "me" things - eat hot meals - not wipe someone's rear, etc. I came home so ready to see my family, and so "in the moment" with them. It was a great trip - not because of what I was doing, but because I became me again. Not a wife, not a mom, but me for a couple of days. That refreshing bit of time made me such a better mom & wife. It recharged my batteries in ways that family trips just never could.

So everybody dig deep, decide if you are in - if it makes sense for your and your situation - and if it is give a big "yes" and let's get planning. Cause we all know where you live :rotfl: and if you say yes and don't show, you are going to have to produce a hospitilazation statement to get out of it! :snooty: :rotfl2:

Yeah, I'm a drama queen! :rotfl:

First - I love that the story ended in a vasectomy! We had one too, but be careful THEY CAN GROW BACK!!!!

Second - my grandmother and mother had tilted uterouses and weren't suppose to have children. My grandmother will tell you she got pregnant by falling down the stairs because she would fall and go to the hospital and they would tell her she was pregnant - 3Xs. My mom only took the chance one with me and that was enough! :rolleyes1 Me on the other hand no tilted anything. I actually had a doctor tell me that I could keep on having babies until the cows came home. His actual quote was "You could deliver a mack truck and have no problems." Thanks Doc?

I would be at Disney in a second. However DH and I have made a pinky-swear promise that we won't step foot into Disney until our credit card is paid off.:sad2: Honestly it's KILLING me not to plan a trip. I'm hoping to go by August 2010 because DD9's penpal from the UK is going then and we want to meet up for a day. I keep on going onto the site and pricing trips, but then the thought of getting there hits me and the price of the trip is blown away. Flights are like $1000 and driving (which we did in April) is still $500 with hotel and gas.

GOOD NEWS - my work just offered me more hour and a chance to use a laptop so I can work at home if the girls get sick! It's like the ultimate opportunity for me. More $$ means I can save for another trip and pay off the credit card that much faster!

Well I'm jumping off. I'm taking the kids to my friends house down at Cape Cod to enjoy the beach - it was one of my Summer Goals this year! They've never swam in the ocean before, so it should be an adventure!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

I had a ******l delivery with Elizabeth and C-Section with Matthew and the C-Section recovery was BRUTAL!!!!!

I can't believe they bleeped out vagyna - it's the part that makes it possible to have kids, take them to Disney, and be on DISboards! :rotfl2:

Me too! In fact, in Disney I don't even do makeup if it's hot! I just have to have a mirror to get my toupee on straight.

Working at home, AND making more money - it's a wonderful thing!!!

OK, Renee, I'm in! That's all I'll say on that. September is a GREAT time for me, too.

Hello????? Anyone out there? I see you Debbie!

So I talked to Ally last night - sounds like she's having fun so far. They took FIL to the dr yesterday afternoon and he said that if it's not better in a week that they need to check for a herniated disc. And they doubled the pain meds and muscle relaxants, so he'll be useless this week!!!

Tonight is usually my "girls night" with Ally, so I'll be sad that she's not here. But maybe I can actually get something accomplished! And then another part of me just wants to lay around and read, take a hot bath, and do NOTHING tonight. We'll see what wins out!

I'm so lazy today that I'm actually working in my jammies right now! And it's noon!!!! So I'm off to shower and make lunch. At least I've gotten a lot done at work, so that feels good.

Hi- I'm here! :wave2:

I spent the first part of my morning getting the minivan's ac fixed (of course, now it's only 72 degrees outside!:headache: ); then ran off to Lauren's tennis lessons. She's taking them with two of her good friends from school; so the moms and I just hang out in our lawn chairs, soak up some sun, and gossip! Such fun!

Debbie - Glad to hear the tornados have passed. That must have been scary!

Ok - I'm absolutely, positively, with out a doubt - on board for a Sept. DIS meet at WDW! I'm so excited!

yuck on the van. I am dreading the day the cars get old enough to start having issues. The truck is a 2000 and the van is a 2004. We've decided to drive them into the ground, which is a huge change for us as we change cars every 18 mos. Kara your husband would love us.

Sorry to har FIL is still laid up. Back trouble is scary. You are lazy--still in your jammies. But I would be too if the girls weren't here.

Okay on to the trip- are we thinking a late Thursday arrival and late Sunday depature? or are we going to try for something midweek? I really want to find a way for it work for me. That will be so cool to meet everyone else. I am seriously considering just driving to meet Debbie at the lake. It's a 5 hour drive. I'll have to see what the schedule looks like. Then I will have met Kara and Debbie, just a few more to go.

I got a kick out of my sis yesterday. She said did you know the prices went up at Disney. I guess my whole family knows I am in love WDW now.

We're thinking either Th.- Sun.; or Friday-Sun.; or even Fri-Mon. Seriously, think that's up to the individual. If some can make it down on Thurs. nite, they would be responsible for that night's stay. I think this is something we'll firm down as we get closer - but it's definitely over a weekend.

OK, I'm still IN! But last night Jeff told me I couldn't go. Yeah, we all know how that goes! But he told me he wouldn't let me go meet people like this. Then he told me he was going to make me watch 20/20!!! :lmao: I did tell him that Cammie said she couldn't bring her hatchet cause it wouldn't go through airport security!!!

Then he told me that if I go, I can no longer make fun of my BIL (my sis's DH) who flew to CA to meet some online gaming buddies. Cause now I'm a realy internet geek, too!

Yeah, ditto here about over the weekend needed. I'll have to leave the kiddos with their dad, so the less I have him use of his 5 weeks of vacation that he only uses a week of a year :rolleyes1 the better. Don't get me started on that one, but weekend would work.

Unless they change flights times for next year, I'm thinking I could be there early Fri am (generally land around 10) reasonably or late Thurs (arrive at 5:30 or 10 pm) - depending on what the crew wants to do.

My preference would be not to do a Monday - but we can deal with all that later.
