At first I was a little hesitant, but I've seen some comments back and forth, and I knew that you had posted that she was having surgery. Then I saw some folks posting that they hoped she was well, etc, so I thought, what the heck! Glad it was okay! :thumbsup2

Y'all I have a horrible headache today - and I really need to get some light cleaning done today so that I can come back Sunday to a clean house. Think I'll take my "lunch" break and lay down in a dark room.....

I'm gather DVDs for tomorrow. I've been washing clothes, dishes, etc. I the phone is ringing off the hook today - and then I"m dreading calling my Dad. Sigh.

I do feel mean, but hey, I'm the grown up here - I'm mummy - the one who gets to set the rules... , not their best friend, so I guess things get to be tough some times.... and the kids behave better for it. Philosophy according to tessa.....:goodvibes

Tessa, are you related to Jo, the Supernanny? JK. It's so hard!

hey ho, I'm off to cook - chicken, garlic (LOTS!!), pasta, veg, all in a cream and cheese sauce...... lots of leftovers to use up:goodvibes!

YUM!!!

Kara - Yep sure enough, I misread the feedback number. Instead of 98.2 it is 92.8. DUH! 2nd email to them. I mean they actually advertised priority shipping and then mailed it parcel post (in a priority bag turned INSIDE OUT!) I sware if I was a nasty person I'd turn it in the the post office.

The nerve of some people! I don't have much eBay experience, but they'll get theirs!

Thanx for all the child rearing advice.

I am in need of some! Megan just turned 15 and is experiencing growing pains. I tend to baby her, and she is not as "experienced and worldly" as some of her friends. She starts high school in a month! She'll drive this year! I am not ready to loosen my grip.

OK, anybody ever used those "green bags" they advertise on TV to keep produce fresher longer? Jeff wants to buy them. We waste so much produce!!!

Never have. I just had to throw the entire contents of my freezer/fridge away. Guy is there right now, and we decided to pay to have it fixed rather than buy a new one. It is less than 5 yrs. old! $300 vs. +$1K for a new one. It just better last 5 more years!:headache:

And, yes, we're getting crazy weather. Yesterday there were actual tornado warnings for the southeastern part of the state. Of course, this was just as we were discharged so we got to drive through it!:scared: Today, it can be sunny one minute, then completely dark and pouring the next!

Send some rain our way! It's too hot!!!

Kara - Wanted to thank you for putting an update on Amanda on my TR. There are some people over there that I have gotten friendly with and I know they appreciated being updated. :thumbsup2

Cammie - your trip report was awesome! I am glad that everything went well w/Amanda's surgery.

Hello????

Where is everyone today? Come out and play!!!!!! :rotfl2:

See, now I am in deep, and can't stay away from this place. It's all or nothing. I am trying to leave it open all day when I can, but not stay logged in.

Are you going on a trip, Renee? I didn't see a current one, only future, in your signature.

Pam - sort of. We're going to visit my SIL this weekend. She may have the baby, but plan is to help her get her nursery set up. I just checked her registries and was shocked that her shower is this afternoon and only a couple of things were off there. SIGH - looks like we'll be making a few shopping trips too. I bet you anything people didn't have what they bought took off, and there will be a few things she gets two of. But it will be fun to help her out. She's the Italian one - so she's making us homemade pasta - and I think tomorrow night we're going to be going to a Japanese Steakhouse. Should be fun with the kids!

Even though she's only 7, Ally is not as "worldly" as some of her friends either - sad that some 7 year olds are considered "worldly" - but I"m glad! I want to keep her a baby as long as possible. The world is a scary place and I don't want her to worry about it until she has to. I remember when my sis told her DD about the birds and the bees at 7 yrs old! I thought, WTH??? Let them be kids for as long as possible.

Trust me, I know how expensive fridges have gotten! We just had to buy a new one when we moved to match our new kitchen. Let's just say we went "cheap" and it was $1700!!! They are upwards of $3000 now! My parents said something about buying a new fridge and they mentioned $500, I just laughed at them.

We're kinda like the Godfather (no, I'm not talking about you Cammie!!!! :rotfl2: ) - what was that line? Something about trying to get out but they keep pulling us back in? :rotfl2:

Well, father of Ally's rotten little friend called and asked if I could pick her up tonight. AARRGGHH!!! She's such a little turd! Can I say that? :rotfl2:

Even though we're only going to the beach for a weekend, I have laundry to do, housecleaning, etc. I just want to have a nice relaxing trip, I'm packing one small suitcase for all of us, plus our beach bag. That's it. It's bathing suits, t-shirts and shorts. Flip flops only. No makeup. Maybe even no hairdryer! Hope I don't run into anyone I know!

We took Ally to a Japanese STeakhouse when she was 5 and she freaked out!!! She didn't like the fire. Has Nicholas been before? Just watch him in case. Poor Jeff had to take her out until she was convinced that he wouldn't flame up the grill anymore. Now she thinks they're fun, and even says, "remember when I was little and used to be scared?" Cause she's so "big" now! :rotfl2:

:scared1: Well, Nicolas - who knows. I THINK he will like it. :confused3 Now Mia - hummmmm......

Battle of Ebay continues - email #3 from them. They insist that they list (which they do at the bottom in the ebay preelected things)
Domestic handling time
Will usually ship within 5 business days of receiving cleared payment.

But this is what they had in the listing part...
Packing and Shipping: I pack and ship items quickly generally within three business days of receiving notice of payment (unless it's a personal check, which requires that I hold shipment for 10 days until the payment clears).

As for shipping: US $5.00
US Postal Service Priority Mail® (CAME Postal First Class).

What Pi$$ed me off was that I paid for this auction as it ended Sunday. They waited until the last minute Friday to print a label and didn't take it to the post office until Monday. I just emailed them back and suggested they didn't advertise priority shipping if they weren't going to do it because it made a difference to some people - and if they had bought the DVD off someone else and had no idea that it worked, they might want to disclose that too.

I told him he (has to be a HE because women aren't this stupid!) I'm not paying more money to ship a .99 item back to him, and while I understand his auction has CONFLICTING information, it also had some FALSE info that he might want to change. That is it - no more emails from me. I'm just putting in his feedback that description wasn't accurate and shipping wasn't as advertised. DONE! :headache:

Camster - How's your punkin?

I DO NOT WANT TO PACK- UGHHHH!

Glad you mentioned packing, cause, well, I gotta do it too!

I've got Ally's obnoxious friend here, thank goodness her dad just called and he's meeting us at the clubhouse at 6:30. Whew! But I'm sure they are up there destroying Ally's room even more (if that's possible!).

I just realized today that Ally's bathroom has a medicine cabinet in it - been her 9 months and never knew that mirror opened up!!!! :rotfl2:

OK, off to transfer laundry and get packed....

Allright - I'm back. Believe it or not, I actually took a nap this afternoon. I'm still feeling tired though. And I have a ton of phone messages to return - UGH! Think I'm going to make a drink.

I still haven't caught up with the posts on this thread - promise to read through tonite. I NEED to know what you're all talking about!

Pam - Glad you're back!
Renee - Sorry about the Ebay problems; need to go back and read what's exactly going on. Hope you have a good time this weekend.
Kara - Are you leaving for the beach tomorrow or after Jeff is done with work? What beach are you going to again?

The "little turd" comment cracked me up!:rotfl: You can call her anything you want here!

Hi Tammie, Jillian, Debbie, Laura, Tessa, Erin, Tina and all!

Stupid Jeff! Stupid men!

He just pulled up in the driveway and he's on his stupid phone! I hate that phone! He is on it non-stop!!! It's all work, too.

We need to leave in 9 minutes to meet people at the clubhouse for dinner, and he's walking around the front yard talking on his stupid phone. Then he's gonna want to come in and change clothes. Then he'll want to check out the backyard (they are almost done framing the outdoor kitchen!), then he'll want to check out his new grill that has finally been uncrated in the garage. So at this rate we're gonna be at least 15 minutes late!

Drives me nuts!!!!

OK, rant over - I'm off (hopefully!) for taco night!

And I may bring my laptop this weekend - I just checked and the hotel has wireless internet - so maybe drunk posting from the beach on Saturday!!!

Look what I found!!!

Ok, I know that Mickey Red Sox logo is NOT for me - I'm a New Yawker, remember? Where's the Yankees?

And drunk posting from the beach? As if I couldn't be more jealous of you!:lmao:

I have one thing to say, never give your husband the mail to drop off at the post office--aghhh!!! :scared1:

Hey gang - skimmed pg 105 - and it is obvious I need to re read a lot of stuff. NOt much time, but wanted to say have a good weekend and I will try to catch back up on Monday.

I doubt I will have access to a computer - but if I do you know I will check in. I would say I would try to use my husbands blackberry - but the brilliant man dropped it in the toliet (clean bowl) today. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :cool1:

I've threatened to throw that thing in under a semi as he was driving me to have Mia and checking it while he drove. It is an appendage, so I'm very interested to see how he handles a weekend "unplugged".:rotfl:

Okay - seriously, you all have a great weeknd. Kara, you SO STINK! Ah... the beach. Have a good drink for me as the waves crash. Cammie - get rest yourself, and take care of Amanda & Lauren!

Tammie - I'll be thinking of your family tomorrow. Hope all goes wonderful!

<cut>

I just realized today that Ally's bathroom has a medicine cabinet in it - been her 9 months and never knew that mirror opened up!!!! :rotfl2:
<cut>

Kara - does it have a secret message in it??? When I moved out of home, we found a message behind the bath panel in the bathroom in my first new home... so I keep up the tradition - whenever I move I leave a little secret message... Last house , behind the bath panel i left a little note with the date we left saying this was the house we fell in love in - my hubby to be proposed in the kitchen..., and photos of the place and garden before we did any work on it... It's nice to find a surprise... I still wonder if anyone found it yet?

Tessa

Ya know Cammie, I was wondering if you were a Yankees fan - I seem to remember waaaay back you mentioning being a Yankee fan in Beantown.

Tessa - No hidden messages, but that is really cute. Wish I had done that with my other homes!!!!

Hi Girls...
Quick shout out to Amanada! Yeah!!!!!! Glad it's all done and all is well!!!!!!!!!!

No time to catch up yet but wanted to tell you guys I miss ya!! Wish you were all hanging out with me while I was doing all my fun summer stuff...well you all kind of do hang out with me in my brain so it's kind of the same!

Hopefully I can catch up over the weekend. We will actually be in town but the weather is supposed to be nice though so who knows......

Love ya guys! Have GEAT weekends and stay healthy and safe while I am MIA!

I really need to stop watching Fox News all day. I get so wrapped up in these stories. The biggest is this chick from Orlando who waited 31 days to report her daughter missing!!!

Well, Ally and I are packed up. Of course Jeff is not. And I refuse to do it! Oh, and I even got Bucky packed up for his doggie hotel visit.

OK, so Ally is watching Miley Cyrus concert on the Today Show - she's got her princess ampliying microphone and she's singing with her. It's so loud!!!!

Kara- Too Cute! I swore when I had kids I would not buy anything that makes noise well I didn't have to everyone bought things that sing squawk and make just about every awful noise you have ever heard. Of course he loves them. At least now the baby toys come with volume control.

It was Date night for Mike and I last night I have found a new favorite drink

We were at Bugaboo Creek and they had a Moose Juice Martini

Moose Juice (Grey Goose Vodka infused with Fresh Pineapple)
Malibu Rum
Splash of Pineapple juice

SO Good I had 2

Well out for the day to run errands with Mike and he is getting antsy. I have to go.

I hope everyone has a great weekend with all of their adventures be safe and Enjoy.
