Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too (Part 2)

Wow! Where is everyone today???

We had some "beautiful" storms roll through last night - Jeff and I sat on the porch and just watched them - the worst of it passed away from us so we didn't get the really severe stuff, but it was nice and relaxing to watch, plus it cooled the temps down nicely.

It is soooo hot today! Depending on the local weather, they're reporting anywhere between 95 and 104 right now. Yuck! We went to the pool for a few hours earlier, then came back and napped. Now I'm getting ready to run to the store to get ready for the week.

So I got drapes hung in my kitchen yesterday, but couldn't pull the trigger on the fabric I wanted for the family room. And I"m really glad, because I found something I really like a lot better - I'm heading out to get it on Tuesday, if not before.

We also didn't make it to the nursery, but I know exactly what I want to do in the backyard, so I've got Jeff finding mulch this week, so we can get that laid each night this week, and I'll head out to pick up the plants I want. The Florida soil is very soft and sandy so I can dig out whatever I need. I don't have to wait for Jeff like I did with the hard clay in SC.

OK, off to shower and get moving!

I had wondered where everyone was too! :confused3

Kara - hot here too. In the car the temp read 98 and it was HOT! My BF gave Nicolas a 5 foot waterslide, and it was too hot to even get it out. As for the backyard - I'm in the middle of that stuff myself. We have a pergala (I probably spelled that wrong) and I hate it. I think it is coming down this fall. Last year I ran climbing Jasmine up it - hated that. This year, pulled it up and planted Sea Grass - which I LOVE! (Told you I love the beach! ) But I've go the whole patio lined with river rock and then mulched beds. I'm debating doing a big deck - I don't know. In the mean time, I'm thinking about putting down some type of rock instead of all that mulch. I'd need about 45 bags or 9 cubic feet just to do our back. It is a lot of bed...

As for the curtains, I got some coupons for JOanns in the mail today. Didn't know if you could use them or not - but if you can I can get them to you. I thought if you did have one there - you could make Jeff or Ally go with you and use the other ones - there were a lot of either 40 or 50% on fabric and stuff like that on the inside. That is about the extent of my help on curtains. I so stink at interior decorating. I loved the way the house was set up when we bought it - so you know what I did - took pictures! :rotfl2: :lmao: Copied a lot - right down to where I put rugs, etc. TOO FUNNY - huh??? Except my bonus room - :rotfl: and you know what a bang up job I've done up here on my own.

Tammie, Laura, Kara & Jillian - sent you an email... Let me know if you don't get it.

Man, I'm exhausted.

Carlos and I talked this weekend. Very civil about my reasons about wanting to get deluxe at Disney - his response. He doesn't see the point in spending the money 'cause he doesn't want to go anyway. :scared1: He has it in his mind that it will be He!! on earth - I just want to know who has been telling him this junk at work! I just backed off. Let him settle a bit -get some strategy to try to clear all that up - because boy does he have the wrong idea.

If push comes to shove, maybe I could get a "nanny" to help me out for a day while he goes and golfs at one of the nice courses? :confused3 I bet I could find someone within two hours of Disney who might hang out with us for $$! :rotfl2:

First of all, let him know that there are lots of dads who LOVE Disney! My husband is a fellow ebaying, golfing, nattie light drinking dad who loves Disney!

As for the other comment? I'm so there!!!! Ally and I love to come to Disney. In fact, if you go in early May, we might be there anyway and Jeff will golf with anyone, anywhere!!!!

Good morning girls! Family left yesterday afternoon - the girls and I spent the rest of the day enjoying the peace & quiet.:goodvibes We had a fun time, but it was very hot here also. Put out a slip n' slide and some water guns which kept the kids happy for a while. I'll try to post some pix later.

I'm around most of the day - need to pack up some of Amanda's comfort items to take tomorrow and have to call the hospital later to get her exact surgery time. Lauren heads over to a friend's for the next two nights; I'll be staying at the hospital tues.nite and hopefully will be back home on Wed. night. I'll check in when I can!

BTW - Renee - tell that hubby of yours: now that he's a father, vacations are about doing what the kids would enjoy most; it's not about him anymore so tell him to suck it up and just endure the "hell of Disney" for a week!:thumbsup2

Hey Cammie! Keep us posted on Amanda's surgery - we'll be thinking of her!

Does anyone else have this problem? I just got ready to leave with Ally for Summer Camp

"Ally, did you brush your hair?"
"No."
"Did you brush your teeth?"
"No."
"Aren't you supposed to do this EVERY morning?"
"I guess."

I mean, seriously, we go thru this every day! It's infuriating! Then yesterday she and I ran to the store and while we were gone Jeff went upstairs to vacuum. He was so mad at her when we got home- her roon and bathroom were trashed! And honestly, we don't go upstairs much at all. I can go days without going up there (since she doesn't want us to put her to bed anymore....). Her room is so cute but it's always covered up with dirty clothes, clean clothes, toys, whatever. I get so mad!!!

Kara - Lauren is 12 and she still forgets! And she's supposed to be at the age where she's getting more concerned about appearances! The thing she forgets the most is to put on deodorant - :scared: ! I get so aggravated w/her and she claims it's no big deal. Yeah, well I told her to wait until the kids at school start calling her the smelly kid - then she'll care!

BTW - I saw you post on Becca's TR. God, I feel so bad for her and so :furious: at that sorry excuse for a husband.

Good morning ladies!

Cammie - My prayers are with Amanda for her surgery - and with you, too.

Kara - My spa party went well - low attendance, but it was fine. I was worried because the store owner promoted it so heavily, and I had people coming by my table at the street fair I was at promising to be there - but it wasn't crazy at all.

I'm loving the De-Tox because it's not just smells good, feels nice - it draws those toxins out. Toxins cause fatigue, poor digestion, weight gain, premature aging, disease. Doing it at home is so much cheaper than going to a spa.

Good for you on going organic more. Everything we eat, the air we breathe, everything we touch exposes us to toxins, so everything we do organic can help a little bit. I admit we aren't that organic around our house - the kids are doing the grocery shopping to help "earn their keep." So I'm going along with that for now. But I use natural cleaners and of course all my body stuff is natural.

They are starting school today for their Masters so it should be a busy "rest of the Summer" for me!

If your dad can't come with your mom, I vote for Jeff's parents, if they'll come. Just because your mom can't go out with Ally alone. What if they really need something? Maybe you could put your foot down about the dogs and just tell them they'll have to watch them or lock their dog up if she can't be social ha!

Renee - sorry Carlos isn't feeling the magic right now. Do you have the planning DVD? It highlights some of the extra things you can do - Jim just asked me yesterday why I didn't tell him you could go fishing at WDW. Guess we're going fishing! ;) I was thinking that would be a good time to meet Kara :rolleyes1 Beautiful cards, BTW! I definately don't have the time to be that creative!

Laura, I finished your TR last night - I didn't get notice of updates while you were typing it, so somehow I spaced it - sorry. Nice reporting.

Hi Everyone else! I'm still sleepy, so forgive me.

Oh, about DVC - if anyone is considering it, use our name for a referral, and you might get an extra credit for your down payment, and they might send us some $$. Our guide is Amille Arroyo, and he said that it's legal in our state to send us referral $$. I just don't know what the current promotions are. That's how we got our down paid - a dvc member gave us his card on the ship. I'll get his number for you if you are looking.

Okay, gotta go get some coffee before the babies get up - Mark and Lindsay are leavinig for school at 7am today. Happy Monday everyone!

My guide's name is Kim Moore - he was also very helpful. I actually just got a promotion in the mail for the AKL DVC - complete with DVD. If anyone wants to see it, let me know and I'll put it in the mail.

Tammie - I'm glad you clinic went well. You mentioned the cleaners. Have you tried Green Works - or are you using Method, or some other kind. We've been using Method Naked and I love the fact that it is free of everything. It really helps around here with allergies. Plus I dust with just a damp cloth rather than those sprays - I have to do it more, but I just feel better about it.

Cammie - so do you have a lot to get ready for Amanda & Lauren today? I thought you might be busy. Can't wait to see pics from the party. Sounds like it was fun!!!

Today is a happy day - looks like the Disney Box is coming today. I ordered myself a clearance raincoat that is blue with Mickey on it. I've NEVER EVER had a raincoat - and it is something I've always wanted. Got it for $12 too. I'm pretty excited. I also got Mia a Tink costume for this year. It looked very thin - which is a good thing for Trick or Treating here. It is generally still very very hot!

As for Mr. Carlos. I THINK he will like it once he is there. I think that bad experience at EPCOT jaded him. He did say he thought Soarin would be cool. I just think I am doing the binder, but making the choice mine and showing him why I'm doing it. I knew he'd be bent about the price, but listen - seriously it costs $35 a night more to stay at a Deluxe than our Beach Condo which we generally go to two weeks a year - SO - I told him we'd just skip one of the beach trips and with the DDP we'd save some money rather than eating out so much. Plus there is all that eating at home savings. I'm just sticking to my guns because I know him. He's all about convience. He will love the ease to the parks and it will make the trip so much better for him.

I do need some advice on car rental though. Can you rent for just a day or do you have to do the whole visit via the airport? We'd like (okay, I HAVE to) go visit his family on one day. His Grandma lives there and isn't in the best of health at almost 90, so I'd think coming to see us at Disney wouldn't be an option. But we will just need the car for a day.

Tammie - good idea about the Planning video. I think I have them from 2000 on! :) I'll just go to the bonus features and show him the golf courses.

Kara - that would be so sweet if we could meet up in May. Carlos stinks at golf - so tell Jeff he'd be an easy person to beat! :rotfl2: That is why he trades clubs so much. He was an expert athlete in school and it KILLS him that he can't master golf. He is so certain it is the CLUBS fault! :rotfl2: Once he finds the right ones - he will be able to play great! I think we're on our 6th set of the year at this point. :lmao: PING, Calloway (several times), Nike, Taylor Made - you name it - we've had it. For the most part more than once!!!:lmao:

Oh my dear friends - I just received a delivery for Amanda!:goodvibes

It is so cute (I will take a picture and post later)! But the balloons are so colorful and certainly eye-catching. She will love them and I will be sure to bring them with us tomorrw - along with the very soft and cuddly teddy bear!

This was such a nice thing to do for her. Honestly, I consider you all to be such good friends and I really do hope to meet each and every one of you some day!:grouphug:

Yea!!!! So glad they got there while y'all were home. We will definitely be thinking of Amanda tomorrow and saying a prayer or two for her, as well. Do you know yet what time the surgery is scheduled for?

Cammie- Good Luck with everything tomorrow and if you need anything I am just around the corner. We will say a prayer for Manda Panda tonight. Please take care of yourself too.

Yesterday was a crazy day here the weather was so Humid you were soaked when you walked out the door. We also had Dinner with my Father and SM they rarely see Badookie because of schedules.

Renee- Mike and I will be returning to Disney October 2009 with my entire family. If you wait to go then you can Bum around with us all week and Carlos can go do his own thing. Depending on discounts we will staying at either CSR or Wilderness Lodge.

Well Lazy day here it is another day it is so humid you cannot even be outdoor and the Them. is ready 98 YUCK!!!!

Okay, so you guys remember me telling you about the tread I was doing when I was trying to get pregnant - well, one of the girls I talked to for years sent me a facebook invite (know nothing about facebook) so I figure -what they hay, sign up just to see her stuff. Then in the process - somehow it pulled in my whole hotmail addressbook and before I know it requested me to be friends with all these people. :scared1: Have no idea how to take it back! This thing is crazy! :sad2:

Well - the ebay Stitch package arrived finally today. Nicolas is in heaven! He has been obsessed with him since we were at WDW and he called that first morning to say "Wakey! Wakey!" Seriously, he had seen it before, and was indifferent, but after that call - lived and breathed it! Poor Lightnin got dumped.

Anway, he is so happy. But Kara - I'll definately still need some help with some experiments and Gantu the big meanie! ha ha! My big chicken just had me pull the Leroy and Stitch DVD out in the even it will be scarey. I told him it would be fine. Poor kid is a chicken just like his mom! :rotfl2:

Ok, first of all, here are pix of the lovely balloons and teddy bear you guys sent (the red balloon also has a smiley face on it).......

I have no idea what that spot is on my arm - looks like a nicotine patch! Trust me, it's not!

Ok, I was about to post photos of my nieces and nephews, and then I felt weird; like it wasn't my place.:confused3 But, they will be with us in Disney in Nov. so you'll see them then. Think I'll wait.

Just one more pic: this is Lauren after we FINALLY took out the braids! Think they were kept in about 10-14 days too long!:scared1:

DSC02969.jpg

Cammie - love the pics! I totally thought, "what is that patch?" but then I realized it as a spot on your lense! Looks like a small water spot maybe. But that's what that is!

LOVE the pics of the 3 of you - and that CAKE! Wow! Beautiful!

As far as the pics of the others - totally understant that one!

Holy BIG HAIR Batman! :rotfl2: So how did she wash her hair with those in?

About the patch on your arm. Looks like you're covering a tattoo! Or, yes, a nicotine patch. Too funny!

Cammie-As Lauren grows and starts to give more lip you can always threaten her with that picture of her braids out. :rotfl:

Renee- Facebook is insane I am not sure you can take it back other than to send out a mass sorry email. :confused3

Cammie - Lauren has the prettiest smile - Not to tell you something you already know, but look out!!!

Love the Tink cake for Amandas bday! Very pretty.

Did y'all know I really have a stalker since Debbie sent out phone numbers and addresses? You know who you are!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Jillian - CSR or WL in Oct next year? WE're staying at CSR for the weekend that Ally and I head down in NOvember. It's such a pretty resort. I stayed there for a business conference several years ago, but I didn't really get to enjoy it that time. I'm sure Ally will love it!

Jillian - what's up with the new ticker??? Thought you were waiting until AFTER your Nov trip? Are you just trying to tell us you won't be on DISboards on Saturday? :lmao:
