Cammie...don't forget to stop your newspaper too. I will PM you my cell#. Have you eaten at the Yachtman before? Dh and I are going there for a very rare moment to ourselves and have never been. I was wondering how good it is. We loved Narcossees last year.

This trip is coming up so fast...and I have sooo much to do. I hope the trip itself goes slow.

It's nice you are taking Lauren and spending time with her seperately. It reminds me that I should do the same with my older DD as well. I will have to do a shopping trip with her and lunch at her favorite: The Cheesecake Factory. She's always helping out with her younger sister so I should do something nice for her.

We've always done AM EMH (at the rope drop) at MK (have done Epcot as well). I don't really like getting up early, but it is really worth it. We get to go on a lot of rides without a wait. And we're not really running to get to the rides either (except FPs for SM). I need to plan out my park days yet.

Have to run....and pack.

Hi to all!!!!!!

I'm embarassed to admit.....I don't get a newspaper. I go online and read my locals that way!:rolleyes1

I've never been to The Yachtsman; but it always gets good reviews. And we love steak! I had seen some yummy pictures on the food porn thread - Lauren and I already have our desserts picked out based on the pictures we saw. We're also doing LeCellier - which I noticed you are too!:thumbsup2

We should definitely be able to hook up one of our days - maybe we'll bump into you at rope drop at MK! But keep my cell # handy; we'll stay in touch.

A little OT - but am I remembering correctly - are you a Coach bag fanatic? I know there was a Coach thread and I'm thinking I saw you on it. Yes? No? If so, I, too, have a serious Coach bag addiction which has now been passed on to my daughter. I just used my 25% coupon to get her a little phone charm (an end-of-school gift for making honors all year!). I know, I'm starting her way too early! Anyway, if you're not the Coach fanatic, just disregard this last paragraph!

Good night ladies. The thunderstorms have started here; think I should sign off now!

Actually, that's a good way to do it and it's free. Maybe that's what we should be doing too.

I do like Coach, and Dooney & Bourke, and recently Vera Bradley as well. Mostly Coach & Dooney. I have enough Donney's for now. I've moved on to Coach. Only have 2 so far. I have got 3 25% coupons and argue with myself whether I should by anything. I am a tote size bag lover. So I like all the big bags (read: cost more).

I see girls around here 12-13 carrying around Dooney & also Coach bags. There's a lot of military around here so they may get it at the exchange or there's also alot of pretty wealthy people who live here and commute to DC which is an hour away. I haven't got my DD one yet..trying to hold off until she's in high school, if possible. Right now she's liking Vera Bradley. So I'm saving $$ on that right now. DD has more of a shoe addiction than a purse addiction. Forgot to PM you..will do so soon.

Jillian....thanks for the review on Yachtsman. It sounds good and it's right at the BC too. Sorry to hear you and your Badookie are under the weather. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Oh Girls...I can't believe your trips are so close!! That is so great! I just love that place! I have NOT gone back and caught up yet. My family has been demanding a lot of my attention and the dumb INTERNET goes *poof* on me!

Thanks for indulging me with my emails! I mush rather post here but thanks for "getting it".

Again...feel free to share your email with me if you want too!

I am once again going to try and go back and read. I feel like I haven't been here in a month!

I just went to get pix from photobucket and they are gone! What could I have done wrong after I uploaded that they disappeared????

Poor Badookie! What a bummer! Nothing is worse then when the babies are sick:hug:

Hi everyone !! I'm back. Just spent a week on the Big Island of Hawaii visiting DH's brother and family. It was way too short of a visit, but DS starts summer school tomorrow -- so it's back to the grind for him.

I just wanted to drop in and say HI. :wave2: I'm trying to catch up on reading the pages and pages of posts that I've missed.:surfweb: Hope everyone is doing well...

Aloha -- keahi

Hi Keahi! It makes me so happy you still check in with us.

Wonder what Sewer is about too. I am always so curious to know if Sewer sews?????:confused3

OK...I will try to hit some points......
Ok - I'm devastated!:(
It's official - the Osbourne Christmas Lights will not be starting until the day AFTER Thanksgiving!!!!!!:furious: Excuse me now while I go have an incredibly huge hissy fit (before my children get home!)
9.gif
I feel so bad for you! What a bummer! That seems so late!! Maybe it will change.
the whole water thing has me baffled. I guess I am just used to seeing "fresh" water every where. 15,000 lakes will do that to you.
Yucky on the lizard.
Okay I have a dilema... a few years ago I had a falling out with friend from college. I actually introduced her and her husband. Tim and I were in the wedding. I apparently said something that upset her on her wedding day. To this day I don't know what I said. I have heard through the grape vine it was something about the bachelor party. Anyway this was 7 yrs ago. We haven't spoken since that night. I did get an e-mail on Sept 11, 2001 saying she really didn't want anything to do with me again. ( I remember the date because got the e-mail before I heard all of that bad news) To add to the trouble I was pregnant at the time. Yesterday I got a newsletter from college that she got a really big promotion. I don't have her e-mail address to send her a note but I can figure it out. The question is do I send a note of congratulations and say hope all is well or do I let it go. I had been letting it go for the last 7 yrs but I saw her name and it reminded me of what happened. I truly feel bad and I want to make it right but I don't know how. ughhh!

I am just like you!! BUT I am trying to let stuff like that go. I have a grammar school friend who I kept in touch with until I was about 24 and then she just stopped keeping in touch with me. No more Christmas cards, or pix...So weird because I can NOT imagine what I did! Still to this day it bugs me because I can not for the life of me figure out what pissed her off. We didn't talk enough for me to put my foot in my mouth!
So...I can relate!

Ok - hissy fit over. Still p-o'd but I'll live.
Laura - I'm all for mending fences; but, after seven years, what's the point? I know that may sound harsh, but it sounded incredibly harsh of your friend to just end the relationship the way she did with no explanation. Honestly, I have a hard enough time staying in touch with my college friends that I still get along with; don't know if, at this point in my life, I would go searching out someone to renew a friendship with. Sometimes it's just best to let sleeping dogs lay. But, on the other hand, sending a congrats note is harmless enough; just will have to be prepared if you don't get the type of response you're hoping for.
(I guess I'm a little cynical; guess that's what living in the Northeast does to a girl!:) )
ITA
Hi all just a fly by as i have just dropped a glass jar full of maple syrup all over my kitchen gggrrrr!!! Why is it sooo sticky!!

Debbie! What beautiful pics! Thanks for sharing. It looks like you had a great trip!

Erin,
The rates and dates for the next year will not come out until August (usually), but the way Disney is going who knows? So August 2009 the rates will be available for Feb 2010. I think in the UK the come out a little earlier. With an 11 year old I would think you might want to try POP or a moderate resort you probably wont be in the room a whole lot.

But I want to comment on Erin's upcoming trip - LET'S START PLANNING! :cool1: :rotfl2:

First off, obviously my planning is a bit different now since we're so close, but about a year out I'd check first to see if there's a code attached to your name. Make sure you're registed on disney.com! Then start by checking out all the resorts on line. First decide whether you would like to stay deluxe, mod, or value (of course a code could change all that! ;) )and then decide if you want to stay at the beginning or end of your trip (I'd stay at the end for that little bit of magic to end the vacation!). Of course we'll all have plenty of opinions for you! :rotfl:

Erin! Yeah! A trip to plan!

Thanks girls i knew i could count on you to help me plan :thumbsup2
Again more questions heehee ... How do i find out if i have a code attached to my name? Not sure if i can register on disney.com because of being in the u.k but i will try .. We are planning to stay at the beginning of the trip for Chloe's b'day, at the moment i am sort of looking at arriving 30th Jan (2010) and staying on site till the 3rd .. her b'day is the 2nd Feb .. so 4 nights, it will be me and Chloe and my parents .. possibly brother, gf and her dd .... I have been to 2 of the hotel's briefly ... Animal kingdom lodge as friends were staying so we went and visited and used pool etc and chloe loved it .. and the contemporary but only for breakie :) Ok also as much info as poss on dining plan's too and the best way to do it all? Can you get code's from anywhere? Sorry it's just i won't be paying for much of the trip so i want to save my folks as much as i can by doing as much research as poss :thumbsup2 Ooh also any idea on what the weather is like at that time of year??

Anyway thanks again girls

Debbie .. welcome back .. loving the pics looks beautiful, where abouts was it that you went i can't remember?? (sorry)

Cammie you must be sooo excited now, it's so nearly here .. i hope you both have a fantasticly amazing time

Big hello to everyone else :wave2:

Good morning everybody!

Yeah - glad you're back to posting here Debbie! Thanks for the pix - your kids are soooo cute! So, in the first picture, I'm thinking "Oh look at how cute Debbie's daughter is in those "Paris Hilton"-size glasses." Then next pix - she's posing like Paris Hilton!!! Too funny!!!!:lmao:

Jillian - Hope you and Badookie are feeling better this morning! And, please, don't ever be afraid to ask questions about Amanda - I don't mind answering them at all. Honestly, what bugs me the most is the way people so obviously stare when we're out. This happens ALOT - especially at Disney. My mini-Me (Lauren) is very protective of her sister and when she notices people staring will deliberately place herself in front of her sister so they can't look at her. The biggest culprits of this are, believe it or not, adults. The kids, god bless them, will usually stare but then always come over and ask questions: "What's her name? What's wrong with her? Can she say hi?" I think it's great that want to ask questions - a little knowledge never hurt anybody!

Pam - got your pm with your cell#. You have mine right? I think we should aim for the MK day; that way, if for some reason we can't make that work, we'll have the next day at the resort to find you.

I, too, get those Coach coupons - once about every quarter. I feel that, if I use them, I'll keep getting them (and that's how I justify it). I just bought the cell phone charm/strap for Lauren; with the coupon, it was $25. I have no business being this into Coach - it's the only bag I carry. And it's funny, I've ALWAYS been into it. I have bags back from the 80s when I was working in NYC! Alot of girls in Lauren's grade are carrying them around but some of them may be knock-offs ..... who knows?

Hi Tammie, Kara, Erin, Renee, Laura, Tessa, Keahi, Lisa, and Tina!

Well, Lauren's Tevas are in; so I'll be running down the mall to pick them up. I think I'm now all set -- now it's on to packing! I'm so excited to be going! Lauren and I were watching Jon & Kate plus 8 last nite; they were showing video of their honeymoon at Disney - I started to get teary-eyed! I can't wait to be there!!!!!!:hyper:

Good Morning All!

Debbie - First of all love the pics!!! Keep em coming! YOur DD is such a poser!!! I love love love the one of your DD looking into the sunset!!! Can you believe we've lived here nearly 9 months now and only been to the beach twice??? And we only live 30-40 minutes away!

As for Coach bags, I do so want one! I'm a handbag and shoe addict. Love me some Vera, but no Coach yet. Jeff flips out as it is every time he sees me with a new purse. But we have a Coach outlet here in St Augustine (for anyone who has ever driven down I-95 to Disney, you've seen the big outlets in St A's!). I've already passed on my shoe addiction to Ally, and she's starting to get into handbags. Funny story - when we bought this house we brought Ally down to see it. I was on the phone with my girlfriend and Ally asked to speak to her. Next thing I hear is "Tiffany, I'm worried about my new room..... my closet is too big..... I think I need to get more shoes!" :rotfl2: That's my girl!!!!!!

Jillian - I'm so sorry you're sick! Didn't you read the Mom Handbook? You're not allowed to be sick! :rotfl: And teething time is so rough. Hang in there!

Erin - just call WDW and ask them if there is a code attached to your name. I didn't know that you couldn't register with disney.com if you're not in the States? :confused3 As for the Dining Plan, we aren't big fans of it. Mainly because it takes so much time away from the day, and you have to be so structured, or else do a lot of park hopping. We're doing it in Sept cause it's FREE, otherwise, we probably won't do it again. From then on we'll probably just go out of pocket and enjoy 2 or 3 TS meals during our trip. Although, I'm liking the DDE card idea..... Just my opinion.

Hello Keahi!!!!

Off to take Ally to Camp - back in a bit!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I was thinking the same thing!!! She's way to cute for her own good - watch out Debbie!

kara- tim is a pig and he will gladly admit it. I am sitting in "his" office in the house which is PACKED full of computer stuff. Last time I cleaned it I heard about it for months that I lost a USB drive. (turns out he left it in his pants pocket) so I am not touching it. I do have to apologize to people when they see it but I explain that it is Tim's space not mine. I do still pick up after him in the more common areas of the house. Beth is starting to take after Tim. I think if it keeps up I will have to institute the penny rule. My mom made us pay a penny for everything she had to pick up. She kept it in a large bag in the back of the van. We didn't get an allowance so a penny was a big deal to us. it seemed to work.

Drives me nuts!!! And Ally is also starting to take after Jeff. He tries to correct her and I step in and stir the pot good - "you have no right to tell her to pick up after herself - go look at your side of the bed!" Yeah, that always makes for a pleasant conversation. Well, I just found $21 in Jeff's shorts pocket, so I'm taking all that money and stashing it away so I can get new tile in my house! OK, so it might take awhile this way, but then again.....

We've always done AM EMH (at the rope drop) at MK (have done Epcot as well). I don't really like getting up early, but it is really worth it. We get to go on a lot of rides without a wait. And we're not really running to get to the rides either (except FPs for SM). I need to plan out my park days yet.

Plus, I get choked up watching the characters ride in, and the singing and dancing. I cry at least 3 times every trip, if not more!

Wonder what Sewer is about too. I am always so curious to know if Sewer sews?????:confused3

I thought she was a plumber! :lmao:

Kara...It sounds like you live in the rain forest or something for Gods sake!! You're freaking me out!!!!!!!!

Wait til I upload my camera from this morning! I have another Wild Kindom at Kara's house pic!

Yes, I'm not sure the young man at the beer stand in England appreciated my "I'd like a pint there ole chap" in a really crappy accent. :rotfl2:

Erin - While I think it increases your odds, I don't think you HAVE to be registered at Disney.com to get a code. How did you purchase your park tix for the last trip? Disney must have you in the system somehow. Another way to get your name on their potential code list - call and order the planning DVD. I would go over to the "codes" board; alot of people post how they got a code over there.

I've never done the DDP either. By the time it was made available to DVC members, Lauren had turned 10 and I would have to pay for her as an adult. Not worth it. Now, that I'm thinking about it - you could try renting points for a DVC resort. I've heard some people spending as little as $150 a night for a studio during the slower seasons. There's a board under the DVC forum that is for people looking to rent points. You can check it out to get a better idea of the process.

Yup - that's me too! I'm just sooo happy to be there - just can't help myself!

Wonder how many times a day he hears that?

Keep it up with the "bug" pictures and I just may have to report you to the Florida Tourism council - you are NOT good for business!

We have got our tickets from Mapleleaf.com for the last 3 times we have been as they are always cheaper .. We have booked breakfasts and character meals and always have to leave addresses for that with credit card details .. i have registered with disney.co.uk as i can't with disney.com as it just redirects me back ... O well Chloe will be 11 when we go so maybe the dining plan isn't good for us either ... i always get the planning dvd but again i think it always come from .co.uk not .com .. if i phone i wonder if it will amke a difference .. The whole code thing confuses me hahaha yes i am a very simple gal

Hahhahaa i'm sure he chuckled to himself and thought of Dick Van **** in Mary Poppins :lmao: oh and look i'm not allowed to write his last name but his first name is ok :lmao: :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: OK, this isn't a bug pic - this is what Bucky saw this morning and started barking his head off! I crept outside as quietly as I could but he still saw me and turned around. I wanted to go outside the screen but I'm sure he would have darted into the woods. It's hard to see him (actually I think it's a her) but I didn't want to crop it so y'all could see how close she actually was! Usually there's three that travel together.

Too funny - yes, I think I sounded more like Eliza Doolitle BEFORE Prof. Higgins got her all fixed up! :rotfl:

I agree with Cammie - check out the codes board. That's how I learned to just call and ask if there's a code attached to your name. And the idea of renting DVC points is a great one too (see, Cammie? I'm good for your ego!) - Jeff and I talked about doing this several years ago. And since you're going in January, that is definitely off peak. As for the weather, my sis and her family went in late January one time and they wore long pants and sweatshirts in the a.m. and then took the shirts off and just wore short sleeves in the afternoon. We were there this year in late Feb and it was the same. You could easily wear shorts during the day, as long as you can get changed cause it's chilly in the early morning and after the sun goes down.

Good Morning! I'm awake way too early, so I get to spend a little time with my friends!

Debbie, I know I said I loved your pics, but your Elizabeth is beautiful, BTW! She looks like you. Like Kara said, you'll have to keep an eye on her!

Erin, we use the standard DDP, as opposed to the premium, as we wouldn't eat that much food. Its a little less of a bargain than it was before, but we used it last year, and Jim is really set on using it again next year. The cost this year is $37.99/night registered for each adult in the room (adults being over age 9) It's 10.99/day for each child over 3. Everyone on your reservation has to buy it if anyone is going to have it. I guess there are pros and cons.
Pros: - You can budget ahead for your meals.
- You can eat at nice sit down dinners with (mostly) great food, and
- not worry about what you are spending at each meal.
- You can do HDDR or Cindy's Table, or the Luau at the Poly for 2 TS
without breaking the bank, especially for a large group.
- You can find more healthy choices.
- We had 2 days OOP last trip - spent an extra $125 being not on
the meal plan. (That was when there were 2 snacks and appy and
tips included)

Cons: - Removal of the appetizer so you pay OOP for salad or appy. We'd
rather have the salad than dessert.
- They add in 18% gratuity to your room charge - it was included.
- That means the CMs are free to give you crappy service and still
tipped pretty well.
- If you want a TS meal, you have to make an ADR and plan your
day round it - this was a biggie for us, but I think it's true of anyone
who wants TS.
- Although you can use snack credits for breakfast items and eat in
the room, it is a little confusing to keep track of snacks.
- We found that when we wanted to buy water or ice cream in the
parks with snack credits, the "system" was always down, but they
could take cash :confused3

My friend in the UK told me that they market to you "across the ponders" :bitelip: quite heavily for the fall and winter season, as your pounds go so much farther than the dollar here. I would think with the high cost of fuel, there will be less people flying and they will be making good offers. So, you may get a code, or at least a really good offer. Just keep logging in and do a fake vacation planning on the site - that might help. I got a post card once with a good offer on it - we just weren't going yet, then someone else paid for our trip, then we bought DVC.

Oh, and we can't get free dining with DVC. We pay handsomely for those points throughout the year, but I guess once they're paid off, the stay is free from then on. I guess they know we will be back no matter what. You can look on the DVC boards for people to rent points from - be careful and do some research, some people have gotten scammed over there.

Kara, can't wait to see what new creature is torturing you. You will get pretty numb to it after awhile - that's how I became in Okinawa - hope that helps. :goodvibes

Oh, if you girls haven't seen, my shirt are on my TR - I have one more to iron - Lindsay made me one to wear on my birthday at Goofy's Kitchen. Kara, we can't stop making shirts - she made another one for Londynn that says she's turning one, which she is in July, and another Goofy shirt for Myles. Now she is making grad shirts for her and mark, cuz we shoud celebrate that. Now we don't know what Jim should wear - we were thinking about making him a big Grumpy shirt and putting letters on the back that say, "I'm grumpy cuz they all live with me!" :rotfl2: I think that hurt is feelings, though.

Jillian and Renee, hope you're both feeling better!

I thought Sewer was a plumber at first, too! I always have to stop and say, "no its Sew er" :rotfl:

Cammie, glad the shoes came in. Now get them in the suitcase already!

Pam, are you all packed up?

I love purses, too. My DSIL actually sells some great knock offs that she gets from some supplier in CA. I'm sure he gets them in Mexico or something. The D&B and Coach have great fabric that's embroidered, and nice hardware, leather, etc. They have the tags and numbers, etc. I look them up on line sometimes to make sure they look like the real deal. I think sometimes they are factory seconds. She has purse parties and she sells like hotcakes. Her partner is a legal assistant, and she tells us that they are legal as long as they are advertised as pretenders. My MIL just gave me a really cute "Gucci" for my birthday! I know you can still look close and know they aren't real, but I'm having fun with them. I'll have to look a couple of the latest ones up and show you. The purses are starting to take over my closet, however - You have to have a dress code to get in there now :rotfl2:

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'd better think about getting up, I have alot to do today!
