Vacuum butt! I love it! :rotfl:

Tina - how many kids do you have? 2? I don't know how y'all do it, running all over the place for kids activities. I just have one and she about wears me out! But I do enjoy it, especially when she was in gymnastics - I had to drive 30 minutes, but she was a natural and I loved watching her. She actually trained with the former USSR olympic coach when we were in SC. We used to joke and tell everyone to get ready for 2016! But when we moved to FL she wanted to get into swimming instead. But the way this little rascal is learning to dive, maybe we'll still be at the Olympics in 2016! :rotfl2:

I have 2 beautiful girls. One is 8 (soon to be 9) and one 5. DD8 was in dance (tap, ballet, and jazz/hip hop) and softball. DD5 was in dance (tap, ballet). We only allow them to do 2 things at a time and we don't allow anything during the summer. I have friends who have their kids in something every day - riding, swim, dance, music, basketball, fieldhockey, soccer. I can't do it and expect them to get their homework done??:worried:

DD8 has a confidence issue, that she never had before school started and I try to get her involved in things that will help build her friendships. I'm signing her up for girl scouts this year because one of her friends' mom is the leader.

DD5 is so outgoing and very much a girl :hippie: I'm not sure what I'm going to be able to sign her up for. I asked her if she wanted to play softball and she said, "only if I get to wear the red or pink uniforms and I can have a pink glove." Okay primadonna!! She's starting to really get into painting so I'm thinking art classes, but we'll see.

I have DD8's birthday party this weekend so we're off to the Disney store for DD5 to get a present. Hopefully I won't see anything in there I can't live without!

It's finally a beautiful day outside. Too bad I have to spoil it by doing landry, dishes and vacuuming!! The highlight of my day will be DD5's ice cream party at 2pm and possibly DD8's playoff game tonight (they lost last night so they have a game tonight - isn't that like punishment?? for the parents??).

Hope everyone has a great day! It's almost FRIDAY!!

This would soooo be Ally! :rotfl2:

Give it up! You KNOW that there is something in there that you "can't live without!!!!" :rotfl:

I have not taken a lunch at all this week, and I've been logging in before 7am each day! What am I thinking? I guess I do it cause then my boss has no problem with me cutting out early on Fridays occasionally! ::yes::

Can anyone dis from WDW or will we have to wait?

Good point! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the compliments on my pix and for putting up with me posting so many!

You know we love pics - and your kids are too cute NOT to post! ::yes::

How is DDs head? Did I miss what is going on with her ears and swimming?
BTW I LOVED your scrap book of pix!!!!

This just sounded funny! Ally's head is fine (aside from the obvious craziness that goes on in a 7 year old's head! :rotfl2: We smothered the buggers out with mayonnaise a couple of weeks ago. Smeared it on all over and put a shower cap on and she slept with it overnight. Voila! No lice!

She has to have ear surgery Sept 26 to remove one of her ear tubes. It has basically embedded itself into her ear canal. Should only be a 5-10 minute procedure but she has to go under general anesthesia which I HATE! Last time she had tubes, and her tonsils and adenoids removed and she had a horrible reaction to the anesthesia! She was so confused and that look of sheer terror in her eyes for about 1/2 hour after she woke up just about broke my heart!

I love making the iron on shirts but I stress so bad. The thought of ruining a perfectly good shirt bugs me to no end. I wish there was a way to do it over!

Check this thread out just as an FYI.....

That's why I do www.jiffyshirts.com - only $2.50 for a t-shirt isn't so bad when you screw one up! I now buy in "bulk" to save on shipping. I have an extra white and black shirt for everyone right now so I can make a shirt quickly if I need to. But the great thing about jiffy shirts is that they ship the same day and in my case I get them the next day. :thumbsup2

You're bringing makeup??? What kind of princess are you? :rotfl2:

Now, how am I supposed to get me a DisMan if I don't have my painted face on?
19.gif

Seriously, all I bring is a tinted moisturizer, mascara, blush and an eyeliner pencil. Oh, and some lipgloss. I want to look "purdy" when I see Mickey!:lovestruc

Now you should see my med bag - you know you're getting old when you bring more medicine than make-up with you when you travel!

Hmmmm, tinted moisturizer - never thought of that! I also only wear mascara and blush.

Yup, between my cholesterol medicine, multivitamin, fish oil, allergy medicine, and something else that is supposed to help with cholesterol med absorption, not to mention Tylenol, Advil, plus all the other stuff "just in case" it's crazy! I feel like a little old woman!

hI EVERYONE!

Haven't caught up on the posts, so honestly, I have no clue (yet again) what is going on with everyone. I'm doing okay - just very tired. I take two antibotic pills three times a day. I break out in a full sweat about 30 minutes afterward, so I'm sure that is why I'm so tired. I just have no go-go juice.

Go-Go Juice or not, I had to stop in to make sure I wished Cammie ( and Pam too I think???) a great trip to the world. Cammie - it will be such a fantastic time! I'm so glad it is so soon for you and I hope that you have an absolute blast!!!! Make sure to take lots of pics to share!

Our Disney order came in yesteday. Nicolas got a WallE shirt and a toy. He slept with it - is walking around with it, he loves that little Robot. So funny that he is obsessed over him.

I love making the iron on shirts but I stress so bad. The thought of ruining a perfectly good shirt bugs me to no end. I wish there was a way to do it over!

The shirts are bought were $5 a piece a WalMart; but I know how you feel, Debbie - not sure if I want to waste another five bucks for a do-over. I think I'm going to try the shirt on and have Lauren take a pic. If it looks ok in the picture, I'm not doing it over. It's not like I'm going to wear it again - it has June 2008 on it; and considering that it will be sweltering hot, we'll only wear the shirt once while we're there. I just want it to look right in pictures.

Thanks for the good wishes, Renee! You don't have to ask me twice to take a ton of pix; I plan on doing a trip report, so I'm taking pictures of everything!

I hope you're feeling better soon!

Finally got some pics of Bucky and "Fred." He's on the middle pot on the front left. You can see his tail stretching over to the pot on the left.

BuckyFred2.jpg

For the longest time Bucky couldn't find him after he hid in the dead/dying flowers (nobody said I was a gardener!) and changed into his green clothes.
I think he likes to torment poor Buck cause he's smarter than Bucky and knows there is a screen to protect him!

Sorry girls i've just gone way back, pages back so here comes a long post i'm sure :)

Hope everyone is having a happy hump day! That's for you Tessa! ;)
Hahaha i had to explain this to my friend the other day and i laughed lots!!

Erin, I know this is off-site, and you would have to rent a van or something, so maybe not an option, but Punkin413 is renting this place in December, and she said the guy is great to work with - it's $109 a night - 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms - beautiful homes - you could eat in the room sometimes. I couldn't believe how nice this loooks. I think I would stay here if I didn't have DVC!
http://amazingdisneyhomes.com/index.html

Thanks .. we are planning on staying off site aswell and we always hire a car as we do go to the darkside :cool2: (which is 1 of the reason's we're going then, because of the Harry Potter area opening!!)

Erin.... we were in Naples, Florida. It is in southern Florida (very tropical weather). Love it there. The pix are from the sunset at the beach and the sunset cruise.

Oh Debbie it looks sooo beautiful and yo look great in all your pics :)

I "re-registered" for the planning DVD back in Feb. and two weeks later I was offered my first PIN code. Granted it was for the value resorts, but with the code the price came down to something like $52 per night.... I just got my second PIN code offer yesterday in the mail -- this time it was for DVC resorts (OKW or SSR) - $165 per night for a studio. Since we need at least a 1 bedroom villa, I didn't use it for our next visit at the end of Sept. BUt, hey, at least I'm getting offers....

We're renting points for our trip from the NICEST man from the DVC Forums. As Tammie mentioned, though, you have to be careful. I was told by others to check the person's join date and number of posts. There's no guarentee that they are legimate, but you can get a better idea of the person you're renting from if they are a long term DISer. This will be our second time renting points and so far everything is great. Plus the money savings can't be beat !!!!:thumbsup2

Again thanks for all the tips!!

Erin, we use the standard DDP, as opposed to the premium, as we wouldn't eat that much food. Its a little less of a bargain than it was before, but we used it last year, and Jim is really set on using it again next year. The cost this year is $37.99/night registered for each adult in the room (adults being over age 9) It's 10.99/day for each child over 3. Everyone on your reservation has to buy it if anyone is going to have it. I guess there are pros and cons.
Pros: - You can budget ahead for your meals.
- You can eat at nice sit down dinners with (mostly) great food, and
- not worry about what you are spending at each meal.
- You can do HDDR or Cindy's Table, or the Luau at the Poly for 2 TS
without breaking the bank, especially for a large group.
- You can find more healthy choices.
- We had 2 days OOP last trip - spent an extra $125 being not on
the meal plan. (That was when there were 2 snacks and appy and
tips included)

Cons: - Removal of the appetizer so you pay OOP for salad or appy. We'd
rather have the salad than dessert.
- They add in 18% gratuity to your room charge - it was included.
- That means the CMs are free to give you crappy service and still
tipped pretty well.
- If you want a TS meal, you have to make an ADR and plan your
day round it - this was a biggie for us, but I think it's true of anyone
who wants TS.
- Although you can use snack credits for breakfast items and eat in
the room, it is a little confusing to keep track of snacks.
- We found that when we wanted to buy water or ice cream in the
parks with snack credits, the "system" was always down, but they
could take cash :confused3

My friend in the UK told me that they market to you "across the ponders" :bitelip: quite heavily for the fall and winter season, as your pounds go so much farther than the dollar here. I would think with the high cost of fuel, there will be less people flying and they will be making good offers. So, you may get a code, or at least a really good offer. Just keep logging in and do a fake vacation planning on the site - that might help. I got a post card once with a good offer on it - we just weren't going yet, then someone else paid for our trip, then we bought DVC.

Ooh thanks for all of that .. I will keep an eye out believe me ... The flight prices have gone up so much it's crazy, the first time i took Chloe she was 5 and our flights were about $550 each this year for exactly the same time of year they were $900 .. again thats still not bad but crazy in 4 years how much it goes up!!!

I agree with Cammie - check out the codes board. That's how I learned to just call and ask if there's a code attached to your name. And the idea of renting DVC points is a great one too (see, Cammie? I'm good for your ego!) - Jeff and I talked about doing this several years ago. And since you're going in January, that is definitely off peak. As for the weather, my sis and her family went in late January one time and they wore long pants and sweatshirts in the a.m. and then took the shirts off and just wore short sleeves in the afternoon. We were there this year in late Feb and it was the same. You could easily wear shorts during the day, as long as you can get changed cause it's chilly in the early morning and after the sun goes down.

I will defo check out the codes board and do all i can to make sure i can get one somehow somewhere .. Hmm sounds like a song :rotfl: Thanks for the weather tip, it'll still be warmer than here so that's always a good thing :rotfl:

Hope you're all good .. i'm really looking forward to the weekend .. is it me or has it been a looooong week this week??!!

Erin - we're so excited about Harry Potter World! I didn't realize it was going to be a whole "land" - thought it was just an attraction. Jeff's cousin, who is the VP or Marketing for US Florida, is going to be able to meet JK Rowling - think we're going to give him our books to get autographed! :thumbsup2 Jeff and I have both just read the first 3 books and we love it!

Cammie - I just found one of the pressed penny tubes and mine is 3 1/2 long by about 2 wide. I guess that would be a wallet? But I still had to trim the width when I wrapped it around. I used laminateing paper and wrapped around it so the ink wouldn't rub off from sweat or anything else wet.

Wow very exciting and i have heard that she is writing a prequel type novel and auctioning it for charity!! How fab is that!! Yes when we were there this year you can see over the back of some places where they're starting it all am very excited, apparently it should be done end of 2009 so i have fingers crossed it'll be open when we go 2010

Ok, Kara, looking for your reassuring words........I've just checked the 7-day forecast for Orlando; they have clouds and lightning bolts for every, single day!:worried:

IMO that means nothing. It just means there will probably be some storm that passes through each day .....maybe not. When we were in Naples a storm came through every day and never hindered our fun. Your trip will be magical!!!

Cute critter pix Kara!
Thanks for stopping by Renne and HI Erin!!!

Hey girlfriend! Where you been today?

So today I sat down and made a red velvet cake with the girls after school. I had never had it, but kept hearing how great it was on tv and via friends. After listening to DD5 cry at DD8's softball game for 10 mins we came home. There was the cake, still in the pan. So I flipped it over and hello I forgot to grease the bottom of the pan - dope - so of course the cake split in two and fell apart. So with a little bit of white vanilla frosting DD5 and I grabbed forks and dug in. Well I have to say it wasn't the best cake I've ever had adn maybe I didn't pick the best receipe, but it was ok. Kinda of a let down, but it was alright. I think I'm going to pass on it being one of the girls' birthday cakes, but hey I had to try it.

Anyone else made a red velvet cake?

Hey girlfriend! Where you been today?

Just running around! Trying to be an attentive Mom! Loving the nice weather we are having.

Also, decided to document all the finances and review where I am at with everything and it was not pretty! Now I better come up with a plan to get myself out of this jam. I better get a job the way I spend money!

Tina..I have heard of the cake but never had it or baked it!
