I'm back! I was wondering where everyone was today! The storm seems to have passed on - never got that bad though. Just heavy rain; not much thunder or lightning.

As for the Jonas Bros.: this is the position I'm finding myself in with Lauren. She is in full-blown obsession with them right now. And none of her friends admit to liking them as much as she does. One friend kind of does, but since she's not in many classes with her, they don't talk much during the week. So when she's home on the computer or watching tv, anything that comes on about them, she wants to show me. It's fun to see her get excited about them and I enjoy sharing the interest with her. She'll find YouTube clips; buy TigerBeat magazine - and then want to show me and talk about it all. And, quite honestly, I don't mind because I enjoy their music and they're nice boys. I feel like since she doesn't have a friend she's comfortable sharing this obsession with, she wants to share it with me. Is that healthy? (and just disregard the fact that I've developed a slight crush on the 19yr.old brother - I know THAT'S not healthy! ) So, yes, because of this, I'm a walking book of JoBros. knowledge!

Tonight is girls night, so I think we're just gonna go up to the clubhouse to eat, then come back and have manicure/pedicure night! I'm just too tired to run all over town tonight, and there's really nothing I need right now so I think we'll just relax at home.....

20, 19, and 15. And I totally agree about Nick's singing - but I think he's hitting puberty so that's why his voice sounds that way. I don't dare tell Lauren that though!

Just a quick HI! I am off to get Elizabeth. Thank goodness the day does fly by!
I have been running around. Girl Scout meeting last night. I am going to be the Daisy leader. I don't know what I got myself into there. Seems like a lot of work. Oh well. I will be back tonight!

It's beginning already! Ally just came home crying because she got a "C" on some reading homework! It's silly mistakes, she just needs to slow down and pay attention. She kept crying, "I try my best!" It was sad.

They are already pre-testing them for the FCATs in the spring. I hate that standardized testing. Last year, the kids didn't get recess for 2 weeks and the teachers had to bring food from the cafeteria for the kids. They had to preorder in the morning if they were buying lunch. Why? Because they didn't want the younger kids making too much noise and distracting the older kids who were testing! How crappy is that??? 5 and 6 year olds who have to stay cooped up for two weeks.... IN THE SPRING of all times!!!!

And last year when her speech director snapped at me that they couldn't pull Ally out of recess for speech class (remember I didn't like her missing her resource classes - art, music, PE, etc - to go to speech?) because the federal govt mandates that all kids get recess..... So this year they are pulling Ally out of recess, along with other kids. I couldn't stand that woman!!!! I seriously have BIG problems with this school. If it weren't for her teacher this year, I'd have to seriously think about a private school.....

I think that it's awesome! I am friends w/my girls, too. Now, as for the crush, I think that it is totally inappropriate. How can a mother of 2 teenage girls think that a young man, nearly half her age, is attractive??

Kara - We had one of "those" nights last night, too. Taylor had to correct some problems she had gotten wrong on a test, plus her homework and required 15 pages/day reading, and we got started later than usual because it was a busy evening. I was a total B because I am having montly symptoms although I don't have a monthly, she was tired and teary, and it was just horrific. We too wonder a lot of times why they do what they do at the schools. I know their jobs are hard, but some things just don't make sense!

Debbie - Oh, Girl Scouts! How fun! Good for you, leader! I was co-leader of Megan's troop for several years. You need a co-leader to help you!!

my heart goes out to Ally. Those tests are nasty. We're pretty lucky because Beth is in a private school they don't have to take the big standardized tests. The do take tests in 2, 4, 6 called Iowa Basic Skills. Still a bugger of a test but not nearly as bad as the national ones. I can't imagine not giving a child recess. They need it. Hopefully gymnastics will burn some that engery off.

Gymanstics is going ok, from what I can see. Katherine is trying to get on the floor all the time. I can't leave her with Tim until he can pick her up. I want to be there in case beth gets hurt. Oh the joy of life.

Good Morning All!

Had a great night last night with Ally. Our mani/pedi party, that I thought meant painting nails turned into a full blown spa party! She got out the foot soak tub with the marbles in the bottom, then the foot scrub and lotion! I've ruined her for life with the mani/pedi I took her to for her 6th bday and again before we went to WDW in May!

She got all her homework done last night, with many tears thrown in there. The first time it was very messy (she's a lefty so neatness is hard for her) and I made her do it again. But once it was done she understood and felt better about her work.

Then we just went up to the golf clubhouse for dinner. They have that great salad so I knew I could eat right. Then back home for spa party. While I was doing her nails, she read a book to me. So we killed 2 birds with one stone there!

Debbie - I'm so sad to see rumblytumbly leaving! She was awesome and always made me smile! And congrats on being the Daisy leader! You'll have a lot of fun with that!

Cammie - I always say there's nothing wrong with checking out the "menu" as long as you don't plan on ordering!!! As long as I breathe, I'll always admire the fine young things!

Laura - how is Beth doing in gymnastics? It's not much fun watching when they first start, but once they get into more difficult stunts, it's a more fun, if not nerve wracking!

Renee - aren't you back yet????

Pam - big game this week???

Tammie - I got your package but haven't had a chance to go through it yet...

I think I'm getting carpel tunnel. Probably from all my DISing! My wrist aches all the time, especially when I'm typing. I think I'm just getting old. All these aches and pains....

Tim is scheduled for a cortizone shot tomorrow. He had a business trip he had to make today. I can't imagine how that car ride went. He drove to Fargo--it's about a 6 hour drive. I'm hoping once we get him that shot all will be well.

beth is just starting with the basic balance beam walking, turning and up and down with toes; Bars and summersults and kartwheels. I just need Tim to watch Katherine and it will be better.
