Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Happy Tuesday!!!

I'm going to pretend I'm at the beach because it's finally going to be a nice day and I'm here behind a computer at work!

Went to Saver's last night and picked DD10 up a pair of shorts that said Cheer and WDW across the tushie..very cute. She doesn't realize it but I got her some shorts, because she didn't have any extra to pack. Poor girl is growing so fast I can't buy her clothes fast enough. I so need to pack it's killing me - but I can't because it's a surprise and DD10 will notice.

I'm shocked that people are getting ready to go back to school! Don't get me wrong I can't wait to hear that Staples commercial - "it's the most wonderful time of the year!" We've been working on her combo lock for the last few days - she was so excited that she was able to get it unlocked. Who would have thought she would have made it into a game.

Hope everyone has a MAGICAL day!!!

Good morning ladies!

Tina - how about packing while the girls are gone and putting the suitcases or boxes or whatever, into the trunk of your car to hide them? That's my Christmas hiding spot......

Jillian - how you feeling?

Debbie - I kept seeing some nasty storms and tornadoes in WI - hope you guys are safe!

To everyone else, howdy! Tonight is girls night out with Ally, now that swim team is over we can get back to our Tues night routine. We're hitting the mall tonight to shop for a bday gift for her little friend's party tomorrow.

Uggh! I just typed up a long reply at lunch, and lost it!:headache:

I will hop on later and chat. Have a happy day, everyone!

Hey everyone!

Tammie - I laughed out loud reading your post. You said you were "dp-ing" and I noticed all of the laughing smileys throughout your post - just pictured you sitting there, sipping wine and giggling the whole time. Sorry I wasn't on with you.

And yes, I decided to call the ex and lecture him - AGAIN! I really don't feel like it's my responsibility to tell him how to act; but when his actions bring my child to tears...............well I'm not keeping my mouth shut.

Of course, he said nothing to defend himself. Really what could he? And I'm sure he'll continue to make the same mistakes again. But at least he can't say I didn't warn him when Lauren finally puts her foot down and refuses to do these things with him.

I'm off for the evening to Amanda's school. They have their school musical tonite - Saturday Night Fever. And Amanda has the female lead! My nurse saw dress rehearsal and texted me a pic of Amanda from the big dance scene. She's wearing a strapless, sparkly dress! Soooo cute!:cutie: God bless the staff at her school. She also told me the "Tony" character dips Amanda. Both kids are in wheelchairs. This should be interesting - and fun!:goodvibes

Did u guys see where some guy attacked Push at MK? Seriously - yelled "*** are you doing" when push said something to his daughter then attacked push and tried to push him over!

Well you have somewhere to stop in if you ever make it this far ;)

OK - how about this weekend!? Ha, ha, ha, ha....

Hi ladies! I watched Blachorette while drinking a couple of glasses of wine, and now I'm DP by myself! :rotfl2:

Blachorette or Belchorette after DP?! Hee, hee! You do have a lot of trips planned! LUCKY! And, since you've been on such a cleaning/organizing roll, I know one house that needs tons of both!:)

Did u guys see where some guy attacked Push at MK? Seriously - yelled "*** are you doing" when push said something to his daughter then attacked push and tried to push him over!

Push is the talking trash can? How rude! How was your girl's night w/Ally?

Jillian - any more successful "sleeps" for Luca (and you!)?

Cammie - How was the musical? How fun!

Tina - I still think you're a saint for keeping the secret. I would explode! (I've probably already said that, but I WOULD!)

Hi to Debbie at the beach!:hippie:

If this computer white screens on me, I will take the meat hammer to it. No joke. We need to get it fixed, or get a new one, this weekend. I have a new work pc that I haven't gotten set up for wireless or remote access at home, Megan's laptop has a virus and I have to take it to the Geek Squad, so we all fight for computer time on this junky one. Darrin started posting on some fishing board (and he made fun of me for the DIS!), so it's been impossible to get on. I had a long post typed at lunch today, then lost it.:headache:

I wanted to vent about my MIL challenging the fact that we take the kids to WDW for our major vacations. I am crazy about the woman, but am a little bothered that she asked the kids why we always go to WDW, instead of asking us. I honestly don't think that my kids would have as much fun anywhere else. They can explore other areas when they get older, if they choose to. I don't even want to explain it to her, because I don't feel that she would understand. Some people just don't get it....

I am only paying barely over $1800 for POP, our 7-day park tickets (not hopper), AND most of our food! I saw the specials on WDW.com, and they show a 5-day at a value for 4 people at over $2K. A couple of our days are not available! I am STILL over the top THRILLED!

Better hit submit before I lose this. Drinking coffee (at 10:15!) to stay awake until Taylor comes home about 12:15. She went to a church function w/a friend, then they are coming over here to spend the night. I will be up all night...

Just listened to The Office while Darrin was watching it. Wish my office and c-workers were that fun...:rotfl2:

Night, all!:cloud9:

Crazy busy this week-I'm teaching camp and starting to get Xmas card promotions out for my Stampin Up business. Im hoping being organized early on will pay off before the holiday season! I'd really like to make some money!

Hi, Lydia! I love Stampin Up! I like to make cards instead of scrapbooking, because it's something I can finish quickly, and not get bored with. The lady I buy from lives very far away, so I don't go often to the card parties that she hosts. I need to find someone closer. Nice to meet you!:)

Hiya all,

Cammie - I cannot believe your ex - he seriously had your daughter sleep in bed with him and her cousin?? Her male cousin???eeeeewwwww!!!!!

( tongue firmly in cheek here...... but watching some tv over here from over there, I think that's grounds for marriage in some states!!!;) )

Anyhow - I hope Amanda's show goes well/went well, I am so tired out with the school holidays that I don't know what time it is where right now...

Jillian - I agree with the others - don't crash down to 1000 cal I do the discover plan using points with WW and it is still going well, plateauing at the minute - half a pound a week for 3 weeks, but upping the exercise this week, so should start to move again - just one more lousy half a pound and I've lost 10%.

Erin - I wish I was going back to DLP - I loved it there - and we haven't been back since Crush opened. I am pining..... maybe next year..... thinking about going via Eurostar next time.

Got to go paint papier-mache masks with the "little darlings"..... at least it's just a monkey and a tiger, not anything tooo tasking this time - last time they were doing ex world leaders at school and we got Carter and Idi Amin..... (slightly different ideologies I think you will agree.....) lots of teeth, different coloured skin, that was about it.... I am HOPELESS at faces.... oh well...

Girls night was good - went to Moe's for dinner then shopping for a bday present - went to Justice and Ally found a backpack, too. So school shopping is officially DONE! And they had a Mickey Mouse shirt I just had to get her! It's Mickey with sequined red shorts and he's turned so it looks like he is hugging her - his arms go around the back. So cute!

They had earrings buy one/get one free - so we got a pair for the bday girl and another pair for Ally. She hasn't let me change her earrings for like 3 months so it was hard to get them out and all gunky. I told her she HAS to change them every week now to avoid that in the future. It was nasty!

Tessa - you crack me up!!!! Yes, I think that would be grounds for marriage in some southern states here!!!! :rotfl2:

Keep up the great work with the weight loss - sounds like you are really motivated! I know if I could just lose a couple that would keep me motivated.

As for the papier mache - I always hated that - luckily Ally hasn't had to do that yet for anything. But Carter? Not like he was a good looking guy to begin with - definitely lots of teeth! :lmao:

I think I'll take Ally up to her new school today - I think all her records are automatically being transferred from the old school, but not sure if I need to re-enroll her or not? So we'll go take a tour today and hopefully get some answers.

Pam - I totally understand how you feel about people asking you why you got to Disney so much. My mother can't understand why we go every year and why we don'tuse our trailer more. I can't explain it but we just feel more like a family when we're at Disney. We bond a lot when we camp, but it's closer when we go to Disney. We've actually gone with family and friends and it's not the same - when it's us we have a great time no matter what time of year we go.

So I have a reservation for AKV that I rented points for and I'm so unbelievably excited about...now comes the stress!!!:headache: :scared1: I have no idea what the weather is like in September. We're going from 21-26 and people say it's great but from what i've seen looks like it's just as hot and humid as june july and august....and what about hurricanes? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

KC78 - I was there last year around the same time - it was hot but dry. Not as hot as July and August, but still pretty warm. The good thing though, is that there was NOBODY in the parks!!!! It was wonderful! So you can get more done, then leave to take a break if it does get too hot.

Yes, hurricanes can be a threat, but you just never know. I would go again in Sept in a heartbeat!

( tongue firmly in cheek here...... but watching some tv over here from over there, I think that's grounds for marriage in some states!!!;) )

Just forget about what you've heard about us Texans. We're not as backward as some of the stories would make you believe! I promise! Keep up the weight loss! Way to go! I wish I had the motivation!

Kara - I think I missed why Ally is changing schools. How did it go? Taylor is at the big middle school this year, and a little nervous. I can't wait to do our orientation, so that she feels more comfortable. I am done w/her BTS shopping, but this weekend and next week will focus on Megan. I should finish 2 weeks before school starts.

Tina - Thanks for the word of encouragement. We love it when it's just the 4 of us there. I can let the girls stay in a gift shop for an hour w/out worrying about upsetting anyone, or having them rush. Even tho we had fun w/my in-laws, then my family, I am really looking forward to this non-people pleasing trip w/just MY family!

KC78 - I would love to go in September, but we have dagblasted school!! Lucky you!

I am taking the girls out of school for 2 days, and am feeling a little guilty about that, but the airfare was much less expensive.

Question - Have you all ever shared a Photopass w/someone? I am thinking of trying to do that on this trip, but I need to research.

Downhill slide to the weekend! Yoo, hoo!!! I was up until almost 1am last night, waiting for Taylor to get home. Need to catch some zzzzzz's.....

Hi Ladies! I'm sorry I've been a little scarce. I've been really busy trying to tie up loose ends in my business and get some parties done before I leave, plus getting ready for VBS at church next week.

Oh, I found out that the first morning at 8am, we'll be doing an hour hike up the mountain behind the church - are you kidding? Oh, and my job in the mornings is to be the day camp director when the director can't be there, and oh BTW, he can't be there that morning. :rolleyes1

Cammie, thanks for :rotfl2: with me and not at me!:lmao: I must have been feeling pretty happy! Oops! Must be happy now!

Kara, yeah on getting the shopping done, and free earrings too! How is the new school?

Pam, Are you getting a new computer? We have had a few people say, "again?" when they hear we're going to Disney, but for the most part our family just expects it now. Yeah for the ticker!:woohoo:

Tessa, have you been watching "Redneck Wedding?" It takes place in Texas, but don't tell Pam! :rotfl2::rotfl2: No, really I think some episodes have been filmed here. I'm trying to picture an art project with Jimmy Carter and Idi Amin!

Tina, maybe you can pack at the neighbors!

Debbie, we know you're lurking out there - thanks for posting on FB!

Hi Lydia, Erin, Lorrie (come back!), Jillian (hope you're healing fast), everyone else -

I'm getting sleepy - good night all!

Tammie, did you figure out your Arbonne page link on FB? Also, what is your website?

I am totally exhausted by the camp I am running this week. Ten 3-5 year olds, two of whom are my own, is TIRING!

I'll e better about posting, I promise. Hope you all are well.

Pam - the only reason Ally is switching schools is that a new school was built. Our community is very new so they built a middle school first, with portables out back for the elementary kids. Last year an elementary opened up and 1/2 the kids went there, now this year the other elementary opens where Ally will go. So the middle school is now just a middle school. And our new high school will open next year. We're really hoping these schools get good teachers and do well so people will flock to this area to buy homes.

Yes, we get the same, "disney again?" from our friends. But most people understand. Its honestly those who can't go (like BSIL) that try to minimize the experience and make it sound silly. But we don't care. We love it and you're right Pam. It is the best way for our family to spend time together. It really IS the happiest place on earth!!!!

Now next year I have a dilemna. We are going to try for a Disney cruise in August or September, so that's one week of vacation. And I"m going on the DISmoms trip so that's another 2 1/2 days in May. Now the battle begins with Jeff's family.

A few months ago Jeff's aunt decided she wanted to try to get everyone together in WV for a week. Well, Jeff's dad and sister said they wouldn't go to WV but they would consider Gatlinburg. Everyone agreed (even though that is a lot further for Jeff's aunt and cousins who all live in MI). So I said that August worked best for us. Well, nephew is in year round school so he can only do July. That's when swim team is in full force for us,right? So I said we can do it the week of 4th of July so we A) only have to take 4 days of vacay and B) swim team won't be as active that week.

Well, Jeff's mom decided that it's too expensive that week (an extra $300/night for the house which breaks down to like $30/night for each couple) so she booked it in mid-July!!!! She only booked for 4 nights so I said do a Wed-Sun. No....... she booked MOnday to Friday cause it's cheaper. I'm so pissed!!!!

Every thing we suggested they completely blew off! So why should we even go? The only people I like to see are Jeff's aunt (his uncle is a jerk), and his cousins. I know this is going to end up a big battle and we are going to be guilted into going. I told Jeff maybe we join them all up there on Thursday and we stay til Sunday. I mean, we have the oldest child that is going, so we're the only ones that have stuff going on. I understand my nephew has that month off school, but c'mon!!! Everyone needs to give a little. Not just us.

Happy Thursday!

Yeah my work week is over! :cool1: I've been fighting a migrane all week and hope to have it kicked by today. So far so good. I'm hoping to take the girls to the beach tomorrow, but it will be a no go if Mr. Migrane comes around again.

Last night the girls tell us they don't want to go to GS camp they want to keep going to Abacus - yeah we're at the 2 week cusp, I don't know if I can get them in for that week now - why do they add this stress for us? Do they think we have magic??:wizard: Granted it will save us $200 if they stay at Abacus, but the time to make that decision was two weeks ago when they both begged us to go to GS camp again. I'm dizzy!:upsidedow

Ok just picked up some new fabric (I know I owe you a picture of the yellow skirt, can't get DD10 got get into it when I have my camera in hand) to make a Minnie shirt for both girls. Red and black polkadot fabric last night and I hope to whip them up this afternoon while the girls are at Water Wizz.

shoot I have to go to work --:scared1:

Lydia, No I can't figure it out. :confused3 Of course yesterday I was busy. But I followed the directions for setting up a fan page and started one, but I can't find a place anywhere for creating the link or the "become a fan" button. I'm wondering if you have to purchase a side ad?

Kara, I think since you're the only family that is busy, you should just go for the end of the week, like you said. Just tell them because of your schedule you'll be able to join them when you can. If you stick up for yourself without making excuses, they'll have to accept it.
