Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Happy Monday!

Well my morning started off with the girls fighting over DD7's new birthday present. Please! DD10 asked if she could bring her DS to Abacus today so she would have something to do, I said no - I didn't pay to have her sit on her butt and play DS all summer. So we get to Abacus and drop DD7 off at her group with hellos in all directions and she's happy. Then we go to DD10's group and no one even makes a move when she walks in. I look around - all the kids have DSs. She kisses me goodbye and then walks over to the game area looking for something to do. It really made me sad, I actually teared up on the ride to work. I prayed that someone would come and see how great of a kid she is and be her friend.

This age is so tough because girls are trying to be like everyone else in order to be accepted, but those who don't want to be like that are outsiders. Unfortunately they don't understand that by being true to themselves will make them stronger when they're older.

Oh tina my heart breaks for her, my DD is 10 aswell and you are right it is so so so hard, just keep praying and someone special will be there for her i am sure! Bi hugs to you, as a mum it is hard to watch your baby go through such pain

Cammie - very excited about the pictures - my only problem was WHY WAS YOUR DAUGHTER WEARING A YANKEES SHIRT!!!!!!! Just kidding! You guys must have been so excited!!

Tina - you must have missed the earlier conversation. When Lauren found out she was meeting them, she decided to wear her Yankees shirt because JB are HUGE Yankee fans themselves. She thought they could bond over being Yankee fans in Red Sox territory. It was the best decision she ever made! Nick gave her a huge smile and pointed out the shirt saying, "Good, good, good!" But Joe made a really big deal about it - pretty much kept his arm around her the whole time and said he was so happy to see a Yankee fan there!

LOVE IT!!!! What cuties! Lauren looks like she's wearing a tiara!

Uh, what comes around goes around? I would be mad, too!!! I was totally the opposite on the DISmoms trip - I was soooo afraid of partying too hard and ending up the same way - it was so comfortable that I could have done that, so I purposely paced myself. It's called being a grownup - tell your friend that!

I know, that was my biggest concern also. And always. I do like my alcoholic beverages but I know when to say when - now that I'm an adult. I don't know what happened with her.

Tell Lauren she looked great!!!! You didn't look half bad yourself! Ally will be so excited to see these pics when she gets home!!!! And I think I have a new appreciation for those boys, too, after seeing these pics!!! So so so jealous!!!!!

I thought Lauren looked really pretty too. She was so paranoid about not looking good in the picture. And she's so happy that everyone is smiling big! But good God - look at me! Could my smile be any cheesier? And I have no recollection of putting my arms around Nick and Kevin. LOL

Oh, and now my guilty secret - I'm going cougar on one of our lifeguards here. OK, not really, but y'all should see this boy!!!! And yes, I do say boy - don't know how old he is, maybe 17 or 18, but so pretty!!!! And he's one of the assistant swim team coaches so I get to see him in all his glory. Jeff just laughs at me! So pathetic - this mid life crisis stuff is so pathetic!

First rule of being a cougar: stop referring to the young man you're crushing on as "pretty". That's just creepy. (as if the situation isn't creepy enough. ) Cougars crush on young men because we find them either: hot, adorable; handsome; or sexy as hell. Got it?

Oh Tina - so sorry. I agree, it's such a tough age. And as moms, it sometimes really hard to figure out what to let them do or not do. Don't worry, I'm sure there is someone out there that she will bond with.

Hi girls crazy here back to work and now I have to take tomorrow off to go get more testing done because they screwed up today stuck me 4 times and then realized they forgot the most important test. I was this is the 2nd time in a month this hospital has screwed up. I'm just stressed big shock I know.

PAM! So good to see you! We were in Texas the beginning of July. I didn't think you were in that area, but we were a little scattered moving the kids. Next time we're out there, I'll figure out where you are and see if we can meet up!

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone!

Well the week is almost over - hooray! Thought I'd post my recent purchase from Joanne's for DD10. I'm going to make the red one on the bottom right but with the yellow fabric shown and with a black leather buckle.

Tina - that looks great! Was going to say I don't have the patience for needlework, when I know I'd happily spend a year and a half on a big cross stitch picture - just don't have the patience for clothes I guess..

Well, the kids are off school now - and feel ill of course!!!!! and have passed it to me too- the "tummy grumbles" or - as youngest says, "my tummy feels all squelchy" - and sore sometimes too. So, queasy with cramps..... great!!!! (not....) also since school is out - it is raining!! (also not)

And the kids have been playing up - so NO Nickelodeon based TV today!! I found a punishment that means something to them!!!!! No Spongebob/i Carly/Drake and Josh even though it's the holidays... they are contrite and apologetic - so I said they can watch tomorrow "if they behave....." so we will see!

Must go play Cluedo/Monopoly/Destination with them..... I did promise....
