Looking for Chicago recommendations

We are going to be spending a week in Chicago in April. DH will be attending a conference at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers and the girls and I will visit museums and play tourist. I'm looking for family friendly dining recommendations that won't break the bank. DD12 is a picky eater so while DH DD10 and I are more adventurous we need to feed DD12 too.

We would love suggestions near the hotel - we will have a car available but neither of us are familiar with navigating Chicago. When the girls and visited 5 years ago we stayed in the loop area and walked or took the bus everywhere.

Any other non dining suggestions are welcome too! Thanks

We were there less than 24h and had breakfast with our hotel, so not ~alot~ of help on food.

One thing I'll throw out on driving in the city though- my GPS went *nutso*- map was literally spinning. I don't know why that it, but someone had mentioned to me about it. (Thank goodness) We'd brought a map- though trying to get my 10 year old to navigate was its own challenge!
