Looking for BWV reviews

I saw the Boardwalk Inn thread, but nothing for Villas. Is there such a thing, and maybe I'm looking in the wrong place . Anyhow, I'm trying to decide if a studio would be sufficient or if I should go for the one bedroom. Any advice? From what I've read a studio is more like a regular hotel room with the kitchenette and you get more space in the one bedroom with separate living area. It would just be myself, DH and DS3, and possibly MIL.

Also, I believe the villas are being renovated so if anyone has pics of the new decor that would be appreciated. When will the renovations be complete? I'm not planning to go until after Thanksgiving.

What about the views...standard vs. preferred vs. boardwalk?

Thanks in advance for your input.

MIL? :scared1:

One Bedroom minimum, Boardwalk view. I you haven't booked yet, the Boardwalk views my be gone.

A studio has a queen bed and a double sofa-sleeper. It also has one bathroom and the kitchenette. With just your son, you could make that work to conserve points. With your MIL, I would want a 1-bedroom minimum. It has a King bed in the bedroom and a double? sleeper-sofa in the living area. It does have a full kitchen and a washer/dryer as well. The 1 BR would at least give you two rooms so you'd have a bit more privacy. Still only have one bathroom in the 1BR, but it is split so you could have one person showering while another person used the sink and/or tub.

Good luck deciding!

I don't think they're currently renovating the BW Villas are they? I thought just the Inn was renovated recently.

Post 227 has some pictures of a standard view and there's all sorts of information about BWV.

We had sv studio 2125 last week and it was in tip top shape and we had a view of the pond, grass and trees that hid the valey parking lot. To the right we had glimpses of the Friendship boats as they moved along the canal.
I liked that view as much as we enjoyed the BW view in November.

Someone along the way here mentioned that there would only be 1 chair in BWV studios, we did not find that to be the case. There were 2 nice chairs and the little table on both recent BWV studio balconies.

This site has lots of pics and info on all the DVC resorts. This link should get your right to the BWV. There is all reviews from people who have stayed etc.

With my MIL I would get two studios or a 2br!!!!!!! But I like my privacy.

As far as view I really don't care, I would go standard if it was available to save points.

I just looked at the pics again.....we are going in a few weeks, adults only! I can't wait.

:thumbsup2 on the 2br with MIL.

To the OP, I'm checking in Thursday at BWV. We have a 2br Boardwalk villa booked. I'll let you know the room condition.

It will be great, because it's supposed to be bitterly cold in NW Ohio next weekend.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will look at all the links posted. Hhhmmm two studios now there's a thought. MIL could have her own and we would have our own. Since the kitchen isn't really that important too me. I don't plan on cooking. We were able to have snacks and drinks in our room last year at CSR and we'll probably do the same this year. Although, just the extra space of a one bedroom would be nice, but I don't know if it's twice the money nice!

Bobbi your standard view sounds just fine, but I've been told that there are no longer standard views available for my dates. UGH!

Starr I'm in NW Ohio too! Are you enjoying the snow?!?

Oh, I'm lovin' it today. :rotfl2: Had to haul my 7 yr old to a birthday party(at a local day care center the parents rented out). They didn't even have the driveway plowed. :scared1: Luckily we wore boots and I have all wheel drive on my car.

About ready to venture out to pick him up! Wish me luck.

Boy those mid 60's at WDW sounds really good right now. Can't wait until Thursday!
