I have an HP all in one 2210xi and the largest that it will print boderless things is 4x6. I want to make some signs for our cabin door and would like to find an inexpensive printer that will print 81/2 x 11 borderless signs. Can you help?

unless you actually need the signs to be exac size I'd personally buy a good photo/paper cutter and trim the border off..

I do have a paper cutter but I haven't tried to see how well it cuts the magnetic paper. I don't have an extra right now to sacrifice! I thought there was a way that I could change the settings on my printer but I haven't had any luck.

It's about 5 years old but other than that it's doing just fine. I'll probably just cut off the excess like you said to. Thanks for the reply.

my photo printer has a setting for borderless, and they always have a border,

perhaps it actually prints an 8x10, on 8 1/2 x11 paper...once you trim it it is a borderless print..??

Okay, the squirrels are turning in their cages in my brain! Anyway, I trimmed out the one I had with the border and I used my paper trimmer to do it. It really worked smoothly. Good idea MICKEY88. And, after trimming, I measured the finished product and it measured at 10 5/8 X 8 5/8. So, The magnetic paper is about 1/2" larger all the way around.

ummm guys, you need to go to printer option, AFTER (not before) choosing the right type of paper, resolution, etc, go to the option "print mode" (at least that's available in Canon) and choose "borderless printing" (if you don't choose this, it will ALWAYS default to bordered printing). Then choose the level of bleed you're okay with for the borderless printing (because there is no such thing as real borderless printing, the printer will 'bleed' some of the picture outside the paper. how much bleed is depending on your choosing).

I learned the above the hard way... by reading the manual (I usually do, but for some reasons, I don't read certain types of manuals and printer-manual is one of them) it took me several weeks before realizing that there is "borderless print" option that I have to "check".

ummmmmmmmm I know that, that's why I stated "my printer has a borderless option"... :smooth:

have you tried going back to HP website and download the newest printer software/driver? Maybe there is a new solution there.

All I know for sure that (with Canon Printers) if I do not use photo paper, the borderless option will not show up (if I use high resolution papaer, regular paper, magnetic paper --photo or non-photo).
