Looking for an opinion

I am thinking of selling off my collection. Now here is my question. When I list them hould I list them as "SETS" where I have them or would you list them as seperates? For example I have all of the Small World Dangle Pins....Set or seperates?

Transportation...Set or Seperates

I could go on but am just wondering how some of you would do it. Alot of my "sets" are older ones year 2000 when I was really buying ALOT of pins. I have every Holiday for 2000 I just have other things going on now and don't have the time to keep up with the pins like I did before and thought maybe other people would be looking for some of them and I could get some of my $$ back from them.

Okay, this is just my opinion as a buyer, I think you should list them separately if you want to try to get a better price for some of them. I think people spend less per pin on sets because the total seems higher with a group. If you want them to go faster and easier and cost is not an issue, you could do it by set.

I vote for separately, too. So many people need a few pins to finish a set. I am looking all the time for about 10 pins from a few different sets. Some of theme rarely show up on e@#$. They are not easy to trade for, either. You could always list 10 or so and see how it goes.

I was trying to cut down my collection and listed some pins on ebay. I wanted to sell them as sets because some of them are harder to get than others and I felt I might be stuck with one or two from a series. I got no bids for the set, but when I listed them seperately I was right, I got rid of some but now have the easier ones in a bag of traders.
One example: I have the set of DL Princess dangles. A great set but I am not doing princesses anymore. I tried breaking up the set and got an ok but not great bid for Belle, but someone offered me $5 for Jasmine. I didn't get bids, just people sending me e-mail making offers to buy direct. I paid more than what was offered so I have them still. It might be better if you list a buy it now price, but I haven't sold enough to have that option yet.
There are a few of the Transportations series that are big, but others that no one wants. You might be stuck with parts of a set if you break them up. You have to decide.
I wish I knew then what I know now. I would have limited my collection way back then instead of the "buy everything" attitude I had in the beginning. Peggie

From what I have seen and experienced the days of getting cost for a pin on ebay is long gone and if you get 50% of cost you are doing well. This shows how much this hobby has declined.

I would do them separate. While you may not recover cost on alot you may be surprised by some. You should remember cost back in 2000 may be 6.50 so list them 4.99 or 5.99.

I listed alot or 2000 resort pins and most went over cost, maybe a couple dollars. Also if you let people know you will combine shipping you may get one person picking up multiples.

My rules I list twice singly then do groups of 4 or 5, again plaesantly surprised when I got multiple bidders.

The worse thing about Ebay is sellers need to sell them at least a few dollars over what price they really want just to break even.
