looking for advice on my booking for preopening DA

Hi guys..

We're a Disney family so I'm not as familiar with the Universal "way" of things and I'm hoping you can weigh in on my plans to see if I should make a change..

We're going the week of the 4th- so 6/29-7/6- just before Diagon Alley opens..

I am planning on getting annual passes so I booked a room at the Royal Pacific.. we've been once before and we really enjoyed that hotel and using the express passes.

I thought about getting the HP package but I didn't think it makes sense.. while we'd really like to see DA I'm traveling with 2 teens who are NOT in any way shape or form morning people so we wouldn't be trying to take advantage of an early admission to the parks... it just wouldn't be fun trying to get them up for that!..

BUT- I would hope we get to see DA- so I'd like to think we'll get to experience the atmosphere and soft openings..

but now from what I'm reading I'm not sure we'll get to see it... so I'm thinking maybe I should go back and get the HP package so I can be sure we get to see DA... but it is considerably more $...

what do you guys think the chances are that we'll get to participate in soft openings for DA?

I think the chances are pretty good but remember...soft openings are not announced so you'll have to be in the right place at the right time.
