Hi!

We are strongly considering purchasing at VGF but are nervous about availability at 11 months. We would be mostly staying in studios, but want the ability to book a 1-bedroom every 2-3 years. We are a fam of 5 so the VGF would be perfect since they have studios and 1-bd that sleep 5.

Looking at the wonderful availability charts here on the DIS I am a bit nervous that our room would be hard to book in October which is when we travel. I don't want to spend that much money and be upset when we can't book at our home resort.

For those of you who own at VGF and travel in October, do you find limited availability in studios at 11 months?

Thanks for your help!!

I haven’t had problems when booking immediately at 8 AM when the 11-month window opens during Fall Frenzy. But standard view studios get booked up quickly afterward and then the lake views begin to go. I’d say that by 10 months out, you will only find scattered nights during late September thru mid January.

I look at it this way, if you own at VGF you have a good chance of getting studios during high-demand periods. If you don’t own there, you have little to no chance.

Thank you so much! This is wonderful news! The Grand has my heart and I'm super excited.

Yes studios go fast at VGF in the fall, well all resort studios go fast then. We stayed in a 2 bedroom at VGF last October. We were able to get a week at 7 months, well we booked 4 days in a standard 2 bedroom and waitlisted the other 2. The waitlist came through for both. When we arrived we were upgraded to a lake view 2 bedroom, they said they were out of standard 2 bedrooms. We never expected this.

I have booked a standard studio over Easter break, which is allegedly hard to book - no problem, but I was online at 8am 11 months prior. More recently, I walked (yes I did) a std 1br over Christmas 2019. I probably didn't need to do it, but I did see regularly changing availability of studios and even the std 1-br during early-mid-December. It was like playing double dutch to get in there, which makes me think that there was some walking going on. As @Marionnette said, if you want standard studios with any regularity during Fall Frenzy, it is very very useful to own there.
