Hi!

Not sure if this is the correct board to post this on but thought I would start here...

We are taking my B/G twins to Disney in mid-sept to celebrate their 4th B'day and staying at GF for 5 nights. Our first trip to Disney for all of us (unheard of I know)!

I have CRT and some other raved about ADR's made(thanks to this wonderful board) and have reserved a Cabana for 1/2 day at GF...

BUT... I am looking to do something, surprise (the kids and DP) with that something that is really over the top.. the thing that makes everyone go WOW. I have heard about being able to open the park, or about leading the parade... But how do you go about being the one selected? Do I make a call send an e-mail, I am sure it is not that easy.

Suggestions ideas for something to make this really MAGICAL!

Thanks,

How bout a Wishes cruise?

Also, if you are planning to dine at Coral reef you could have a suba diver hold up a sign for your twins b-day!

Thank you for the suggestions, I am going to check out the cruise idea. Love the B'day sign idea, but we are not going to Epcot... this is exactly the kinda nifty thing I am looking for!

Any other ideas out there?

Thanks!

How do you get them to put up a sign for you in the tank! I would love to do something like that for my daughter! We aren't going for her birthday, but Christmas, but If they will hold up signs that say hi to her or something, I'd love to know how to get that done!
Thanks!

Thank you for the responses. I did find out that Narcossee's does a similiar personalized menu (not as nice as CR) but I am doing that as we already had an ADR there and am still searching...

TheMUDD... Actually we are not going to Epcot mainly due to time/mobility constraints. (we do not have park hopper) I have some back issues and with 2 little ones in tow we are trying to built in some leisure time(is that possible at WDW?), like pool time, some we had to sacrifice some things.. one was Epcot... and too this gives me a reason to drop hints about going back!

Thanks again... and if anyone else has any WOW suggestions would love to hear them!

We took our first trip with DD (4) and we made it special by having Tinkerbell leave her little gifts with a note and pixie dust each night / morning. After DD fell asleep, I would put the note & pixie dust (glitter) and gift on her nightstand. Every morning, DD would be soooo excited to see what Tinkerbell left her and to see what our agenda would be for the day. She would grab the note and gifts, turn her back so only she could see it first. Then show us. The note was on the Disney letterhead they sent me via email after we booked our trip. The gifts I left her were Disney jibbitz b/c she wore crocs the whole time. Also, the notes mentioned how she should be a good girl all week and maybe she would be invited to have lunch in Cinderella's castle, etc. Just an idea.........

Also, we kept the character meals as surprises so DD was very surprised and excited when Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore had dinner with us at Crystal Palace.

From what i understand being the family that opens the park and leading the parade is a random thing. They pick select guests from the crowds.
This policy ensures that all guests will have an equal opportunity to be
selected. I think we all wish to be "that" family!! :)

I love the ideas from the pp... a few things that come to mind for birthdays is getting a phone call from GOoFy (there might be other characters too)~(just ask any cm if they can call Goofy for the Birthday message), making sure they have a autograph book w/ them & a button so characters can write a special birthday message & if you take it to epcot's countries a cm can also write happy birthday in thier laungage; getting a customized cake for one of your resturant meals....

GOOD STUFF!

I like the idea about the agenda... I already bought some sale items at disney.com and was going to leae them out at night... Must do the pixie dust stuff too...

Oh, I did not know about the B'day phone call... Must do that to!

Thanks so much... and keep them coming!

BTW, I am having so much fun (ok and a couple of headaches) planning this... am I the only one who feels this way about planning their trip?

Best

I went for my daughter's 7th birthday this year... i went to Sci-Fi dine in for lunch and they saw her birthday button on her, the server was soooo nice, she brought my daughter a free ice cream with a candle and sang happy birthday a gave her a signed bday card.... a lot of fun...
We also got the Illumination cruise for her bday... the pontoon was decorated with balloons and had a banner on it... when we arrived under the bridge, the captain of the pontoon moved up just a little where the crowd on top could see and made the entire crowd sing happy birthday.

The fun thing is that you can celebrate all week long, and make it extra special... That's what I did, we were there for 14 days, went to Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins (that was our gift to her, she loves dolphins) and then for 3 days we made ADR's at different places and celebrated her birthday, it was fun...

Make sure you tell the front desk about your birthdays. We had to remind them, but our son got a birthday card from BUZZ and balloons delieved to our room. You can also request your birthday buttons at the front desk when you check in as well. They will probably tell you to let them wear them during the entire stay...they did our DS.
