Looking for a website on airlines

I tried doing a search to see if this had been asked before, but is there a website I can go to and check the ratings for different airlines? I am looking for things like safety records, following guidelines, things like that. I saw something on the DIS homepage that said some off brand airlines had higher standards than the brand names and it made me wonder how did they know that and where did they find that info?
