Looking for a Speech-to-Text APP

My daughter's school trip to California is in 5 days. Yesterday all the students were asked to put Whatsapp on their phone so the group could use it as the main communicator.

Currently when my daughter sends texts, she uses the iPhone's message; clicks on the microphone icon; speaks and it is converted to text automatically and she clicks send. When she receives a text, she usually puzzles it/reads it allowed to us or a friend to make sure she's reading it/understanding it correctly.

I just found out android phones have Google Text-to-Speech which would allow her to do the same thing and tell it to send the text through Whatsapp. I believe it also would read other people's texts aloud to her as well. I wish she had an android phone but she has an iPhone (8 I believe).

Would anyone know of an app for iOS that can do this using Whatsapp?

Or is there a way in Whatsapp to convert speech-to-text? I see Whatsapp lets you record and send an audio file. She will use that if it's the only way but she would prefer to send "text" like the other students so she is not so different from them.

You can voice record messages on Whatapp directly. I do not know of a way on Whatapp to send voice to text. Everyone here just uses voice messages anyway.

I did more googling and just discovered Whatsapp DOES have a speech to text option. I had to turn the phone sideways in order to locate it. (wry grin)

Now to see if there is an option for Whatsapp to READ incoming texts aloud to her.

There's so much out on the internet it gets hard to find the information you're looking for sometimes.
