my dh snores and then it wakes me up and then i can't get back to sleep:mad:

does anyone know of a sound machine that will run not just for 60 minutes and then turns off ? years ago my dad had a small air purifier that made almost a fan noise which was great too. I need some noise to go to sleep
between the dog and my dh snoring from time to time i am a very tired person:coffee:

I have a fountain one that goes all night. I mean the sounds go all night, of course the water does too. It has a volume control and 5 different sounds. There is also the fan. That goes all night!;)

Sleepmates run as long as the switch is on in several different volumes of white noise. They can be purchased at jcpenney.com for around $50. We even take them on vacation! We are addicted to them!

the sleep sound machine from Hammacher-Schlemmer. Mine has run continuously for about 17 years and is still keeping me asleep, just like when t was brand new. I don't need a masking noise to sound like the ocean or God forbit crickets chirping. This is ust a consant white noice. Even the variation in fan noises drove me nuts. This is a constant, unvarying white noise.

You can pick up a Homedics one at any Target or Walmart for about $13. I have 2 of them- one for each boy's room and they work great. There is a timer on it if you want it, but we don't use it. It runs all night long. We've had one of ours for 5 years now and it works great. I have a fan that runs next to my bed at night and we bring the noise machine with us on vacation so even I can sleep.

Yeah that! The one in my daughter's room hasa switch for "timer off" or "60minutes". However, I just use a loud air purifier in my own room!

I 2nd this machine--Nice size for travel--just don't forget it at the hotel like I did--I went thru withdrawal after that :thumbsup2

We have the same one that is in my babie's room. It's $20 and we bought it at Babies R Us....it has many sounds (water, rain, wind, ocean, birds, etc.) It's small and white and runs either continuously or on a timer...you choose.

It's called Sound Sleeper by Dex Baby Products....we love it and it's really not just for babies although it works for them too. I know they sell it online as well.

I agree with the folks above who recommended Hammacher-Schlemmer. I've got the same problem - my husband snores, I wake up and can't get back to sleep! I've tried lots of other machines but I found the various sounds --crickets??who can fall asleep listening to crickets?? --distracting. Even the white noise choice had a rhythmic quality to it that I didn't care for. Top vote is Hammacher-Schlemmer!!:thumbsup2

ANother vote for the Sleepmate. THe one we have is at least 20 years old and still works great. Nothing fancy just two levels of white noise. DH has to work 12 hour nights in the ER sometimes and this machine is the only thing that allows me any freedom in the house. It's been through two babies and now him and still works great.

IMHO.....Marsona products are the best of the best.

My parents bought one in 1971 and it still runs strong! They actually got 2 back in '71 and about 12 years ago gave me their extra one. I use it every night.

We do extensive overseas travel. Their unit has been overseas and back about 9 times (they are ex-pats) and has been dropped, kicked, beaten down, packed in suitcases over 100 times I would imagine.

It just won't stop working!

We use the sleep mate (JC Penney), and it's great. We even took it on our last trip to Disney. We received as a gift something from Brookstone that has different sounds - rain etc. but it just sits on a shelf. I prefer steady white noise.

we love the target / wal-mart cheap one. There is one in DD and DS room and we hear it though the baby monitors.

Homemedics! We all use one here and we even takes ours with us to Disney :goodvibes

sleep mate , and I believe they are from a company out of NC . I believe it is made in the USA :) they have their own website too, if you do a google.
