looking for a snappy comeback

My usual:
"Oh you poor thing, you just don't get it, I feel sorry for those who don't understand the magic!"

"Oh yeah? Well, the jerk store called. They're running out of YOU!!!"

Hat tip: George Costanza.

(Sorry, couldn't resist :teeth: :teeth: )

I would simply say to any comment: "You know, life marches by, before you know it- it's over...Being there makes me happy. I am truly sorry you can't be that happy...hey maybe you should try and go to WDW!"

"Better young at heart than an old fart."

I get comments about my kids not remembering it since they're so young. My responses:

1) They won't remember it, but I will never forget the look on their face the first time they saw the castle (Cinderella, Mickey, etc.)
2) They will have the pictures and know we wanted to take them.
3) They were free for God's sake!

Q. You're going to Disney again?
A. You say that like it's a bad thing.

I get this too, once from an eight year old neighbor girl who has never been. One more to add to the list regarding young kids. "They will be back, we go every couple years. If they don't remember this trip they will have many more to look back on."

yes yes yes

I also say why wait until my kids are older? I don't remember what I did in high school - yet alone yesterday. I don't do things just to have memories. For goodness sake people, Live in the Moment!

I also get this a lot. My hubby works all the time and I take my now 6 year old and 2 year old down with some of my other family. My response is always the same:
question: How can you keep going there? Don't you get bored?

answer: " When I go to Disney with my kids, they are my only care in the world. I don't have to worry who is calling at dinner time... because I am at Epcot eating by the water waiting for Illusions to start. I don't have to worry about our 3 dogs at home, because the only dog I see is Pluto. I don't have to worry about laundry and making the beds because I have already stuffed my Mousekeeping Envelopes to make sure there is help with that. I don[t have to hear from my kids "I'm bored, What are we doing today?" because by the time they know what hit them we are riding Dumbo. And my best answer of all, "Because when I am at home, life gets in the way..."
  :cloud9:

I loved the renting kids comment. I laughed out loud at that one! :rotfl2:

I always hear stuff at work about always going to WDW, that I'm never going to grow up. Most of the time I just say, Thank God for that!!

Another comeback that I like is...You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.

I never intend to stop playing....

7 more days and I'm off to see Mickey....again!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

KISS OUR BUTTS!!!!!!!!!!!
IT IS A MAGICAL THING! :rotfl:
MISERABLE PEOPLE NOT ALLOWED AT WDW :teeth:
I HATE NON DISNEY PEOPLE! :wave2:

I always say "Because its the happiest place on earth of course! Why would I want to go anywhere else??!!!"

Actually I think disneyLAND is the happiest place on earth but you get the idea

"If you don't like Disney, DON"T GO! Less lines for me!" :teeth:

And to all those who ask why we took our son at 4 times before he turned 2 -I answer "Why do you take your kids to Grandma's house? They won't even remember it. Shoot, why do you take your kids out of the house at all???"

I actually do have kids, but DH and I would go even if we didn't. We'd go without them if we wouldn't miss them so much.

I tell the people that I work with, when they ask me why I work so hard, that I work to take my kids to Disney as many times as I can until they absolutely won't go with me anymore.

Isn't that what life is all about?
It must be, because I'm leaving in 26 hours for The Mouse.

Another thought for "why do you go so often"...when we are children, we are pampered and waited upon...when at Disney, we feel the same!

"I rent some while I'm down there. Lots of people do it."
:rotfl2: CLASSIC! :rotfl2:

i almost wish i didn't have a kid so i could use this one!!:rotfl2:

Ok I am laughing out loud at my desk! Great responses! Can't wait to start using them!!! Thanks all!! :rotfl:

Here's just a few quick ones off the top of my head:

"Disney is for kids not for adults!" Response: "I agree with you. Did you see that great, big, new ball pit & swing set they added in the middle of Victoria & Albert's?"

"How can you go to Disney when you don't even have kids?" Response: "Yeah, you've got a point. It would be so much better if I could share my Cabernet at the Food & Wine Festival with my children."

"How can you go to Disney all the time?" Response: "Well, I keep checking my Dings & look for the $59 each way fares from SW. But my SIL & BIL drive. So I guess it's up to the individual."{wink}

My sister in law has made the following comments about our disney vacations..

"It's sooo middle class"
"It's sooo unsophisticated"
"how could you take children so young there? They won't have any fun or remember anything"
I'd like a snappy comeback too.... It can be mean. :rolleyes1

I love going to disney... i have gone other places, but I really like going to disney.

If someone was ever so rude as to actually say that to me, I hope that I would recover enough from the insult to say something like : "Well, the good news is, we are also middle class, so I guess that works out!"
