Looking for a Name for Join up Discount

I am going to be purchasing in to SSR. I was told to see if I could get a name of an existing member in order to receive a further discount is there anyone who would be willing to just give me their name. Another one, by brother won't budge for a few dollars on a contract. I usually have no problem telling them to go resale but I know any day he will change his mind again - he has before - so perhaps he should go through Disney now.

Right now the deal for a new member that is referred by an existing member is that they can get the SSR points at $83.30 per point (15% discount). Without a referral they'd pay $90 per point ($8 discount).

I just got back from Disney last night and visited SSR. Didn't realize about the deal till I read on board around 1 am this morning( was still excited about trip). We were going to join at the $8 discount but defin. with 15% .. Need a referal. Starting with around 210 points does that sound like a good starting point??

It just doesn't sound right to me. There is nothing about it on dvcmember.com.

Apparently it is a special promo for current DVC members and their friends/family that they refer to DVC. Is must be real because there are quite a few people posting that they are getting the deal. I would expect to hear about it from DVC pretty soon. Sales are probably slipping at SSR and/or they want to stimulate sales to move on to new projects....

Its 120 minimum at 15% off for an existing member into SSR, but if you refer a family or friend they also can take advantage of the 15% off but have to buy 150 minimum. My friends aunt referred me and I bought 180 points into SSR for 83.30 a point.

The promo just started and mailings have just gone out.

its true beca i just got 175 points at 83.30 a points with 2005 points also.
im not a disney cast member. this offer is for dvc members already who buy at least 120 points, or if you get a referal from a dvc member you must buy 150 points to become a new member through disney. yes there is nothing about it on the disney website. plus i could bank all my points i just got from 2005 which i just did, they were already in the system that fast. my guide told me they will be mailing all dvc members about this great deal soon. why they did it who knows maybe it wasnt selling as good as they want it to maybe they wanted to give us a christmas present, maybe they want to get crv or aklv who knows who care i just got a great deal. just got back fedex was here with my paperwork from my new purchase.

Maybe not selling so well because of the economy with gas prices and those devistated hurricane areas and it is the holiday season coming up which tends to slow down sales in this area.

Anyhow you shake it its a great deal to get all of 2005 points, only pay 2.5 months worth of dues and get in at a great price
