Well to make a long story short she has a leg problem with both of her legs, been in cast on both legs twice and then into leg braces for the last 4 years with casting inbetween. Today the Dr says things are getting worse again, so we have three options, one was to leg cast both legs again for 6 weeks and then leg casts at night and braces during the day if that doesn't work we will have to go to surgery in the fall. Second was toxic shots that are injected into the muscles, Dr is not a fan of this and after the word toxic I stopped listening, and the third was surgery. After the word surgery my 8 year old DD was under the exam table saying no sharp objects I don't want surgery, so we chose the leg casts for 6 weeks with nightime casts and braces during the day for the summer and if that doesn't work surgery, please send some pixie dust her way that this will work for her and surgery won't be necessary. Thanks.

Poor baby!

And Poor Mommy!!

What a time for a little girl! Prayers and PD for both of you....

God bless,

Robinrs

I hope that the casts and braces do their job this time. :)

Awww, I'm sorry she'll have to go through that and surgery. :( She'll be in my thoughts and prayers. What is her name, if you don't mind me asking? :)

Prayers, pixie dust, and a lot of {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} to you both!

Big {{{HUG}}} to you both! You will be in my thoughts. Sending lots of PD your way.

Thank You all for the pixie dust, Nicole is doing just fine she even figured out how to ride her bike with the cast on, however I did forget that she has to go to 40 hours tomorrow night in her full communion white dress and veil. She is going to be quite the sight in her beautiful white dress with one red cast and one pink cast.

Can I join you in your PD thread? My DS, Liam(5) has been casted, had surgery, braced(to try to avoid more surgery) since he was a baby. In July, we are taking him to find out what the next step is. I feel that surgery is inevitable, but he starts Kindergarten in Aug.:(

I will hope that you can get a break from all of this, but I can sympathize. PM me if you want.

edited for a silly spelling error...

Rexfan I hope you get good news about Liam in July and if he does need the surgery hopefully and god willing it will be the last.

Sending PD to both Shelby and Rexfan for your DD and DS. Sure hope your children won't need surgery!

Thanks, Shelby. Please feel free to get in touch with me if you want. This really keeps me up at night. One cute thing: Liam calls his braces his "space boots" and says he's like Buzz Lightyear.:smooth:

Prayers and PD for Nicole and Liam and their Mommies too.
