My DS loves lazy rivers. Are there any hotels other than the Ritz and JW that have a lazy river? I do not want to stay in a time share and the reviews of the Nick Family Suites scares me. What hotel off site of WDW has the best pool? TIA :sunny:

We are trying out Regal Palms in Davenport...a bit of a drive away but they seem to have a great looking lazy river! Ill report back when we return! Leaving Friday night! WhooHooo :cool1:

Onlyoneforme, I can't wait to hear about your stay. I've looked and looked at that property. It looks super nice. I just worry about it being away from all the action. Let me know how it was and have a great trip!

I will check out the Omni, Safetymom!
:earsboy:

We rented a pool home in Davenport. The drive from where we were was about 15 minutes. But it really went by fast-- so no complaints. We didn't mind the location.

I have not personally stayed at the following resort but have read about it on these boards..Apparently the Fairfield resort - Bonnet Creek has a lazy river. It is located within the Disney property but not officially a resort of Disney. So it is VERY close to all of the action.

I believe the Hyatt Grand Cypress has one. I haven't stayed there, but I recall Sam floating on it during Great Hotels.

Check out the raddison resort parkway in kissimmee. Great pools with a big slide. Nicely priced as well.

on property - BC/YC/BCV has a lazy river - Storm a long bay.

you can rent points from a DVC member and say some money - but still probably more expensive than staying off-site.

probably because the 2 hotels you mention plus the Hyatt Grand Cypress are all in the $200 to $300 per night.

A studio that sleeps 4 - should run you anywhere for $120 to $140 per night. this is a timeshare but you NEVER have to attend any sales pitch.

I agree with spiceycat, I would recommend renting from a dvc member and going for the BCV!!! SAB is awesome!!

I know you are looking for hotels other than JW Marriott but did you know it is listed on Priceline. As well, it is the only "resort" category in it's zone so if you bid "resort"only in that zone only you are likely to get it!I tried but the hotel was booked solid for the times I was going.

Bad advice, according BFT the Renaissance Resort is back to being rated a resort. It dropped to 4* during renovations.

You should never use PL if you're looking for a specific hotel.

I have been keeping an eye on this thread because my DH likes lazy river pools.
Anyway, you also mention that your DS likes "cool pools" too. The Marriott Horizons has a fun pirate ship pool and a water park for its guests.
Our kids ejoyed both a lot.

If you look under "specials" on the website, you can get 3 nights and 2 adult WDW tix (1 day 1 park) for $ 363. if you use a visa card, and a little more $$ if you don't.

Hi Denise,

I was checking out this "special" on Marriot's website. It wasn't clear to me if this package is refundable or prepaid. Do you have any personal experience with this deal? TIA if you can answer my questions before I email/call Marriot with them.

p.s Sorry for "hijacking" your thread. Hope you don't mind.

f-LORI-da, I have searched high and low for the special that I was referring to. I swear it was there yesterday and I was thinking about booking it.
Now I can't find it!
It had promo codes, one for the 3 night package and one for the 5 night one. Rats!! :guilty:

I may go with http://www.bahamabay.com/
or Regal Palms this trip. It will be after our WDW part of the trip so the distance won't matter. We will do day trips and just relax. I love having more than a hotel room. :wave2:

The website is:
http://www.vacationtimesharerentals...sort=Fairfield Orlando at Bonnet Creek Resort

The pictures are GREAT! If you are are Buena Vista Drive, coming from World Dr (main entrance) head toward Downtown Disney. Right after you pass Caribbean Beach Resort take a right and follow it to the end. That is where this new resort is. It is actually a time share and according to the site, the rates are as low as $950 a week and some sleep up to 8. Sounds like a good deal and you never have to hit 192, 535 or I-4 the whole time you are at WDW!
