I've been trying to get a grip on how many calories I'm eating a day. I've gone to Fitday and I find it a total pain in the butt. For instance, most of the foods I eat are not in their (Barbara's Puffins Cereal, Kashi Go-Lean waffles, for example). If I try to add them as a "custom food" by using the nutritional information on the box, I end up getting error messages from Fitday that the calorie counts are wrong. Basically, I'm finding Fitday to be too cumbersome. Is there anything better out there?

Oh, Christine.......I don't know what could be wrong...

I use fitday.com all of the time and I have literally put in over 100 custom foods and never had a problem.

Are you inputing the info exactly like on the label including serving size?? For example:

Apple Juice:

8 oz.
Calories: 120
Total Fat: 0
Cholesterol: 0
Sodium: 0mg
Potassium: 240 mg
Total carb: 29
Protein: 0
Alchohol: 0

Then press "save custom food".

There might be a better site to use, I don't know. but I love fitday. It really helps me keep track.

Hope this helps. Let me know.

Weight Watchers has a great one but it cost $14.95 a month(or atleast it did 4 years ago) it had most everything I ate in it. :)

Well, I *played* with it some more. I think what messed me up is that my Puffins cereal is for a 3/4 cup serving. When I put the 3/4 in, it took it as 3 cups. When I put .75 in, I got some error message. I tried the .75 again last night and it worked. I added a few other things in and they worked fine. I guess I'll keep working with it.

Oh, good! Yeah, if anything is going to mess it up, it will be something with the serving size. Once I was inputting something, some liquid, I can't remember, and I wanted a tablespoon. Well, it didn't give tablespoon as an option. The smallest option was a cup. So I had to figure.......16 tablespoons to a cup (I think that is what it is)...so 1 divided by 16 is .0625 of a cup. :earboy2:  just about drove me nuts, but it worked.

The good news is, once you've got it in there, it's there to stay.
