We currently have a three year old Fridgedaire dehumidier in our basement that just runs and runs, but does nothing. We checked out the reviews on a couple of sites, but I really trust the Dis members' opinions more.

What make/model do you have? Would you get it again? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

This is the dehumidifier that we use in our basement

We have had is just over 2 yrs and very pleased with it. We live in CT and leave it on all year long. We can regulate the temperature setting. During the summer months we have to empty it almost daily. In the winter it is a few days before it has to be emptied. You can also have it drain directly in to a drain but we dont' have it set up like that.

Cleaning it is fairly easy-- remove a few screws and wash it out.

The water container has a built in handle which makes it soo easy to carry and empty w/o spilling most of it over the floor or myself.

this one collects soo much more water than our old one did.

We are please with it. good luck w/ your search!

We had the Lowe's Fridgedaire 70 pint set up to drain directly into sump pump. But the thing leaked like a sieve, didn't drain out the hose and we still had to empty the bucket 4 times a day. We returned it and still need a second one for next spring.
