We don't have a ticket so it can't be in a park but would like to do a buffet breakfast on property at a resort. Kids are teen so characters not necessary. I know of Chef Mickey's and Boma - are there any other buffets??

I like Cape May Cafe also.

There is also one at the Grand Floridian - 1900 Park Fare.

We really like the one at the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club resort.

I was just the opposite; I did not like the breakfast at Cape May. Sure the character dining was fun, but I found it to be on par if not lower than a breakfast buffet at a Golden Corral. When I made my ADR the menu stated it had omelets and eggs to order; for our visit there was no omelet station, and no eggs to order. All the eggs were premade and were either scrambled or a few varieties of premade omelets on the steam table. Perhaps things are different now, or there was some problem. For us, I was expecting a bit more for $18.99 than what we received.

But then again, everyone is different and I will admit I am not a big breakfast fan. We did this ADR to use up our last ts and to kill some time before our flight back home.

Trail's End at Fort Wilderness is supposed to be a great value - like $14.

Hmmm -- In addition the character meals mentioned, I think there are non-character buffets at Maya Grill (Coronado Springs) and Trails End (Fort Wilderness campground)

My family has two favorite resort restaurants that offer buffets that are not charachter breakfasts: Boma at AKL and Fresh at the Dolphin. Both are great options.

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge has a breakfast skillet, all you can eat for $15, or you can order off the menu. Warning, there will be antics.

We just ate here when we went and ordered the breakfast skillet and it was pretty good. We asked for ketchup and ended up with 19 bottles on our table:lmao:. We didn't order a soft drink with our breakfast, but someone at another table did and they made a big deal about it and brought it out in a HUGE jar. We had a pretty good time.

I have heard wonderful reviews of Boma. There is also the buffet at the Poly and Grand Floridian. They both have characters present. We really enjoyed breakfast at the Grand Floridian the time we went.

There is also the breakfast at the Polynesian Resort at 'Ohana. This meal does have characters though (Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch). It is served family style with eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, mickey waffles, fruit. It was pretty good last time we ate their in May 2009 (my husband and I went without any kids :goodvibes). You have a lot of good options to choose from.

Word of warning for Boma - I have stomach issues and take acid-reducing medicine and am generally okay. Boma beat me up for the day, I was in a lot of pain. I think it was the omelette with corned beef, peppers and onions coupled with the press pot coffee.

It was a lovely buffet but I just wanted to throw in a caution if you have any stomach issues, then Boma will be the most challenging for you.

Boma at AKL gets my vote !

Great suggestions everyone! Thanks. So now I am trying to find the price - this morning the reservation system was dfown so they couldn't tell me. We've narrowed it down to BOMA or 1900 PARK FARE. Online, the rate says $15-$35 but on this board it is listed at $22.95 or something like that. I'll pay $22 but not $35. Anyone know where to get real pricing for March 15th.

Off-topic...but I had heartburn issues with the Boma dinner, as did DH. We were considering it for breakfast but maybe not. It's a shame though...we enjoyed the food so much while we were eating it, and the service was so good as well. We liked it, but it didn't like us! But we also have stomach issues regularly so it was not a total shock that we had issues that night.

Back to the topic......

Captain's Grille is a good consideration since it has an a la carte menu as well as a buffet. No characters there.

We're trying the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian (characters). A friend of mine went there on the last morning of her trip (with her DH and 3 kids...they stayed at the Grand Floridian), and her husband said that if he knew the food was so good there they would have eaten breakfast there EVERY morning of the trip! They went so the kids could see the characters, but the food ended up being excellent. We're going both for the food and the characters (both my sons love the Winnie the Pooh characters, DH loves Alice in Wonderland...I love all character meals!).

We did love Chef Mickey's breakfast on our last trip! We would go there even if we didn't have kids, but I love Mickey!
