I searching for a book that is the visual history of the magic kingdom. Something that shows photos or illustrations of the various attractions, styles, etc that have evolved over the years.
Does anyone know of a book like that?
I know that there is a website along those lines, but I would really like a book to be able to hold, browse, show people when I'm referring to something.
Thanks guys!

Hi and :welcome:

These two have always been my favorites!!

Nikki, both of the big Imagination books are beautiful! Two of my favorites!

To slightly high-jack this tread... what are yous' guys' favorite Disney books? Those two Imagination books, The Disney Mountains: Imagination at Its Peak, Since the World Began, and Walt Disney's Imagineering Legends are probably my favorite.

I still need to read some of the Imagineering books, but some Disney related books that I like a lot include:

Dream It, Do It - by Marty Sklar

Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow: Walt Disney and Technology by Christian Moran and Bob McLain

and a bunch of Disney Fiction, such as the Kingdom Keepers, Deadliest Cast Member, Key to the Kingdom, and The Disneyland Quest

Ohhh this is a great thread. I'm in the mood for Disney literature as I get ready for the Mega Meet. I'll have to see what's available for the Kindle.

A favorite piece of Disney fiction, which isn't for everybody, is Cory Doctorow's "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom." It's a future dystopia set at Disney World and as the author really loves the parks, that level of detail folds in. It's also available for free on his site as he does everything via Creative Commons.

http://themeparkpress.com/ is an amazing resource for theme park related publications especially if your looking for history and engineering/how they operate...... not sure if you'll find what your looking for but I would start here..

"Theme Park Press is the world's leading independent publisher of books about the Disney company, its history, its films and animation, and its theme parks. We make the happiest books on earth!"

Love Cory Doctorow!

If you have Amazon Prime and a Kindle, you can borrow this one for free as part of your access to the Kindle Lending Library.

What I really want is something that is almost a side by side comparison of say tomorrowland every decade or so that details what changed. This ride was replaced by this ride. The decor went from this to that, etc.
I have the field guides as well as the Imagineering book.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I need to add just a Disney book wish list to Amazon now!
