What do i need to know? Do different floors affect how much noise you get?
What about getting a theme park view - any chance of this at 5 months out?
How easy is transortation to the other parks besides MK?
Thanks for any information you can give us.

The only noise in the Tower that could effect you is that song which is played every half hour when Chef Mickey's open, if you happen to get a room over it. So if you think that will be a problem request a room away from there.

Unless there is a major convention going on then you should be able to get a Tower - Theme Park View 5 months in advance.

When going to Epcot you take the Resort Monorail 1 stop to the TTC, then switch to the Epcot Monorail. As for Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom the Contemporary is the 1st stop no matter which other Magic Kingdom Resorts they are sharing Bus service with, so that's a major plus for getting seats. That also means when returning from the parks the Contemporary is also the 1st stop.

thanks for the heads up on Chef Mickeys.

sounds like it will be super easy to get around, like that aspect!

The Garden Wing is a seperate building with it's own room categories and it's a 5 minute walk from there to their Tower building. Their room sizes and design are exactly the same as the Tower rooms, the only difference is the Garden Wing rooms are less expensive.

What is Garden Wing - do i want to stay there or not?

The Garden Wing is a great chance to get a monorail deluxe at a reduced price. Depending on where you're room is, it's a 2-5 minute walk from the main building. (Go out the main building and past the pool, and you're at the Garden Wing).

Some people also prefer the Garden Wing because it's quieter than the main building.
The main down side is that you are 2-5 minutes further away from the action. But overall, you're getting the convenience of being on the monorail, in a large deluxe room (the rooms are identical to the main building), for the price of a non-monorail resort.

We stayed in a theme park room the last trip and while we LOVED it, we did not spend as much time as I thought we would looking out. This time we decided to save money and we are going with a Garden Wing room. I am sure when we come back from the parks the extra couple minutes might matter but the price makes it worth it to us! Overall, getting everywhere was super simple and being so close to MK is amazing. We walked almost every time!

thanks, I was worried it was not the same amenities as the tower.
Glad to hear it is a short walk.
Good point about the Theme Park View, don't plan on spending much time in the room...

If you book Garden Wing request the first floor so you get a patio. We loved the Garden Wing and we had stayed in the Tower Park View too. The walk is no big deal and takes no time at all :thumbsup2

i love love love the contemporary.. noise has never really bothered me, if you get a magic kingdom view in the tower request an odd numbered room so your beds will face the castle, its cool to lay in bed and watch the castle change colors..
I have stayed on the 8th floor and up and never had any problems with noise, although i love disney so much i welcome any of the noise it has.... I love hearing the mk train from my hotel room (and so you know you cant really hear it unless you open your blacony ).. also sometimes getting ready in the am you can hear the monorail going by, but its not bothersome..

I think I'm the only lone dissentor on the Garden Wing...we did not care for it, but that was just our experience (at least I'm the only vocal one enough to say I didn't care for it). I think we would have liked the tower~ we've stayed at BLT before, so we love the Contemporary's ammenities, just not the Garden Wing itself. If you have the money to spend, go for the TPV! Even if you don't spend a lot of time there, the time you do spend will be smiling. :) Just my 2 cents. :flower3:

there's always good and bad, I'm just glad to hear more positive notes about it.

Contemporary is DH favorite hotel. He has probably stayed there 15 times (all in MK view room). I have only stayed there once and was not impressed. It is gorgeous, dont get me wrong. The decor is very attractive, but so not "disney." My husband and I travel a lot and honestly I felt like I was in Manhattan or Vegas or in any expensive hotel. They didnt even give us one towel animal over our 10 night stay (I love the towel animals! :))

I will say there are two redeeming factors
1) the walk- you cant beat walking to MK!
2) the view- we stayed there in September and we got to watch them put up the Christmas lights on the castle from our balcony late at night.

Just for comparison, we have stayed at WL the last three trips and are heading to Poly this month. WL is very "disney" and our favorite.

I love WL myself too, but the inlaws are setting up this trip and they wanted something on the monorail and easy. Didn't think that getting around the Poly would be easy, so that led to the CR.
We are booking this weekend. Looks like we will be garden wingers.

Just got back today. Was on a bus with a family staying there. We had been to Chef Mickeys that morning and she mentioned that they got a lot of noise from there in the mornings. I did not get which floor they were on so I cannot speak to that aspect of it. Just something to note.

We were early risers so that wouldn't have bothered us.

We just got back yesterday from a 6 night stay MK view. We were put on the 10th floor, even number (4632), not far from Chef Mickey's. The view is amazing, sans the crane working on the new Fantasyland.

The CR holds a special place for me. As a child, I was in awe that the monorail went right through the middle. Amazing :wizard: The room is what you would expect from a Deluxe and was very spacious. We had zero complaints with mousekeeping desk staff, or the room itself. The noise as mentioned might bother you. Even though we were on the 10th floor, we practically could sing along given we could hear it so well. The last show starts at 10:15PM and the first is around 7:15 AM give or take. It didn't bother us, just part of it. However, if you want a quiet room as mentioned request to be far away from it, otherwise just plan on signing along :thumbsup2

I think everyone else covered the highlights, we did walk every time to the MK but rode the rail back given CR is the first stop (and we were always exhausted).

Well, if you want easy, then I'd definitely book in the Tower. If MKView doesn't work for you, then what about the Bay Lake View? The ease of being able to go down the elevator and hop on the monorail cannot be beat!! Or, being able to go down the elevator, walk out the door and be on your way to the MK cannot be beat!! Or, being able to take the elevator to the CS or other restaurants cannot be beat! Yes, the garden wing is a short walk, but for absolute ease, staying in the Tower is the way to go.

No matter what, staying at CR is pure magic!! You will LOVE it!! So happy for you!!
