My wedding shoes! I had to get platforms for my dress b/c its too long. I know that when I show my pics to my kids years from now that they're going to ask why on earth I wore "moon walkers" for my wedding :lmao:

I had platform mules, too, because my dress was too long. They were pink Skechers!

They look great! Congratulations!

I don't think so, they were very comfortable.

But the whole day went by so fast, I just don't remember, to tell you the truth.

You'll be fine, your shoes look very comfortable, too. :Pinkbounc

is it just too much work or money to alter it?

both...actually its impossible to alter it. It was custom made for me in Canada. I took the dress to 3 different seamstresses and they wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Its covered from head to toe with beads, embroidery, and silk. I was told that if it was altered in any way that the design in the embroidery would no longer match up and would be very noticeable in the close up pics.

for those who are wondering...its too long b/c I never saw the person who made it since she's out of the country and I took my own measurements and obviously got the length wrong. I know, I should have had someone do it for me :rolleyes2

Those look comfy! Unlike my beautiful but wholly uncomfortable shoes- that no one even saw. Very cool!

I like them. If you are worried about the possibility of falling, practice walking in them before the wedding.

Those will look gorgeous with your dress.

For those that didn't see the picture, her dress has the most beautiful embroidery and design around the hem. It is a very important part of the design of the dress and to hem the dress would take away the whole look.

If my Mom had those back when she got married, she would have strutted her stuff in them! My Mom is the flip-flip Queen :thumbsup2

I love your shoes!!!! They look so comfy, but elegant at the same time!!! You'll make a beautiful bride! You'll also be a much more comfortable, one, too. ;)

Love your shoes. I have two pairs very similar to that, not as fancy though. Im the MOH for my best friend's wedding and she is going to be wearing platform flip flops also. Plus, the shoes she is having the wedding party wear will be wedge flip flops. Thank goodness. Please make sure you practice walking in them, as well as sitting, getting up and off a chair, doing stairs and dancing. You dont want to have any accidents.

The shoes are cute! But, question.... if the gown was custom made for you, why is it too long?

Love the shoes.....but I cannot wear shoes like that, it would be my luck with my weak ankles that I would fall off of them. But I love the looks of them, and they do look comfortable.

Very good question...It was made in Canada. I had no contact with the dress maker. I took my own measurements and sent them in. Obviously, I made a mistake when I said what length it should be :rolleyes2

I think they are very pretty....... if you can walk in them I wouldn't worry about what others say. Your shoes are not what people look at on your wedding day. I bet the dress is beautiful......
