I told you I'm running out of things to do! Anyway...last time we went to Disney I was terribly worried about the kids getting lost so I made some tags for them to wear with info in case they got lost. They were just simple hand made labels but the CM's went crazy for them and parents were constantly stopping us and telling us what a great idea it was. Here's a picture of tigger looking at William's tag.

So...this time I decided to print a page of labels for all the kids. Here's my first attempt...everyone will have a different graphic. I think they will go over well.

What a great idea! I saw several "parents" lost when we were there and it was really sad and stressful.

That is a great idea. Wish we would have had those when my nephew wondered off on the last trip.

Yeah...two trips ago my son wandered off. I freaked out!!!! I was screaming and crying and running around like a mad woman...I even went into the mens bathroom! :scared1: The people there were so nice...other Guests were even trying to help my look for him. It was madness! Turns out...his father (who wasn't with me and the kids at the time) took him on a ride and never told me. I was so relieved but angry as heck! I NEVER want to feel like that again!

Ok....I want one for Isa....she totally wanders off & I am an overprotective parent......That is a GREAT idea..not just for WDW, but for any family trip or day of fun!!

Im stealing your idea...did you just attach them to their shirts or are you putting them on a badge pin or lanyard??

I'm just going to print them on name tag labels since the kids will only be there two days but turning them into pins or lanyards is a great idea! :thumbsup2 I'll probaly do that next time! The problem with sticker type labels is you have to reapply once or twice during the day due to sweat and water rides...that's why I'm printing a sheets worth for each child.

Oh...and don't forget to show Isa what a CM name tag looks like. Let her know that they are Mickey's helpers and will help her find her mom and dad...also remind her to only talk to someone that is wearing one....

Those name tags are a great idea!

My daughter just turned 6 last week, and now she is "too old" to hold hands and has a fit about it. She also gets easily distracted, I can only imagine how much more so at Disney.

Almost reminds me of the field trip tags they'd have us wear back in elementary school.
I'll have to print some of those for her.

Great idea!

HAHA...can you tell I'm an over-protective mother? I get so nervous about those nut jobs out there that prey on children...ugh!

oh Ms Diane, as usual, what a brilliant mind!!!

seriously, what a fantastic idea - as a Mom, I understand that feeling of sheer panic when you don't see them - can't find them. it's a heart stopping horrible roller coaster of emotions. I think you should definitely consider upgrading your idea to lanyards so they will have them as a keepsake. also they will be weather proofed in a sense against those sudden Florida showers!

and I think it's a great reminder to teach your children what to look for as far as a CM :thumbsup2

I'm totally gonna steal that! I'm thinking about getting those round pins, that parents use for pictures of their "Star Athletes" - and making them for all the kids coming to my wedding! Super cute! My son is a definite wanderer! He always sees things and stops...what are going to do with the kid - he's like a kid in a candy store at WDW :rotfl:

I am always nervous about my daughter wandering off...although she is not a wanderer I worry. I put this on her shoe: http://www.whosshoesid.com/

I tell her that if MOMMY is ever lost to show her shoe to a CM. That way she won't worry that she is lost (she is not a wanderer but a WORRIER haha). Every CM who has seen it has complimented us.

I like it because it is out of the way plus her name and my cell phone number is not out in the open.

this is such a great idea. I was already thinking of adding pin trading lanyards to our DD ( 4 ) and nephew ( 4 ) 's welcome bags, but I'm now sure I will add a similar card that will slip into the lanyard pocket. Thank you, thank you Diane! Maddie can be very "independant" when shes on her own, I dread to think what it will be like when she gets together with her cousin - I can already see them deciding to "explore"!

That's a great idea, and cute to boot Diane! I don't have any kids, but I have a Fneice who may be comming w/us, and I might have to make her one of those.:thumbsup2

I saw a few parents yelling for children and wandering children when we went to the world, and felt so bad for them. There were actually a few people that DF, DBF at the time, and I helped find each other.

Diane, I have been meaning to tell you, your children are absolutely precious! And you're such a good mom for coming up with those tags...as if I didn't totally respect you before now!! :woohoo:

Alright Michelle...you win...I'm looking at some lanyards now (on ebay of course, lol  )! I think I'm also going to give the kids some pins with them so they can start pin trading too! :cool1:
