Okay so first you have to realize that I'm the type that was always dead set against tattoos. I just never would have one- and didn't want to be married to someone with one either... so I always talked DH out of it.. so to speak. LOL Everytime the topic was brought up with friends, online, etc. I'd think IF I ever got a tattoo I'd get a butterfly on my ankle or something small like that- but never thought I'd do it... that was just an "if" type answer -yanno?

So 2 nights ago I went in to get my naval pierced... another thing I didn't think I'd ever do but I had a tummy tuck so now I have a normal looking belly button again (after many years of it being a freak show because of my pregnancies LOL) and we're going to Jamaica in a few weeks... so I thought I'd get it done... but I couldn't. My PS gave the okay and so did the piercer.. but when he went to clamp above the belly button it started bleeding like through the skin- like a blood blister or something. It's still kind of hard around - I guess scar tissue inside there still. So we decided to wait- cause that was freaking me out...

Soo....... I decided I was there- go ahead and get a tattoo! LOL So I got a little butterfly on my left outer ankle (and yes, DH finally got to get a tattoo also)--- but I guess I got the bug because even though it HURT (atleast the outlining did...) I was already thinking about putting something Disney or MM related somewhere... I finally came up with a little tiny Mickey icon on one of my right toes. I was going to make it like the flag-like the pin... but it was too tiny for all that detail. So I settled for red/white/blue only. The picture isn't so good since the tattoo was done this evening and so it's fresh and the pic quality isn't so great either... can't even tell that's a blue ear... but here it is!

I still can't believe I got the first tattoo- let alone TWO! This one on my toe really hurt- but it's so worth it. Now I'm wearing Mickey even when I'm not wearing anything with Mickey on it! :) When DH came home from work- I made him find the "hidden Mickey".
HAHA

LOL! Congratulations on your hidden mickey!:earsboy:

Congrats!! I said I'd never get one either and ended up at age 50 getting a Mickey on my right shoulder!! I love it too, it's like he's trying to hug me!

Aww, how sweet! What a great idea to have him like hugging you!

Well, I am almost 35 (in July)- so I'm no youngster getting a tattoo- that's for sure. LOL (DH is 37)

Here's my butterfly on my ankle btw:

That's adorable! My DD (17 and heading to college) wants a butterfly..but I told her she'd have to wait till she is 21!! Hopefully she'll forget that she wants one by then....if she listens to me!

Thanks!
LOL She may forget- but don't be surprised if when she's 35 or 50 or anywhere between or above those ages... she decides to go ahead and get it. LOL

They both look very good!!!! The butterfly looks very well done and the Mickey is sooo cute :)

Thank you! They are actually both a lot better than the pictures show... I just can't get good pictures of them. The ankle butterfly is just hard to get a pic at that angle on my leg and the Mickey icon just looks uneven I think because the white ear looks bigger than the blue one... but it's really not bigger! The pic makes it look worse. But atleast the pics give an idea of what they look like! LOL
The butterfly is my favorite color- purple... darker near the center fading out to lighter purple. My next fav color is pink- so he put a little pink on the outer edge and then the white- right there at the black outlining of the wings. He also put purple and pink shading to the antennaes- but you can't see that in the pic either. The pics don't do them justice at all.

I totally understand about the pics of tattoos... I still don't have a very good one of mine that was done in November. It has a cute little hidden Mickey in the center of the rose. It really looks like they did great on the shading in the butterfly... like true art work :)

thanks for understanding! It's so frustrating me that I can't get a good pic of the tattoos. Even my husband's... the pics are coming out awful and not really showing them well! The butterfly is really beautiful, I'm glad you noticed even though the pics are awful.

I'd love to see a pic of yours! That sounds really need to have the hidden Mickey in a rose. :)

I wish I'd had the Mickey icon tattoo done first- then I could say my first tattoo was the Mickey icon.
Ohwell- it was only one day later! I guess that's good enough. :)

I can't believe I have tattoos now. I'm still kinda in shock that I did it. I actually did it TWICE. LOL
I can't believe I actually have a Mickey icon tattoo'd on my toe! LOL

Helenabear- I wanna see your "not so good picture" of your tattoo! :)

Jeff has a gorgeous dragon on his shoulder/upper arm.. I'll see if I can take a pic and post it... I just love it since he seems to straight laced you would never suspect this big fancy dragon lurking under his shirt!!

Cool! I'd love to see it. I know what you mean though... there are some people that are pretty shocked, to say the least, that I have a tattoo now. (well not one- but two!) Not surprised about husband's, but definitely surprised about mine.

I never thought of having a tattoo done on your toe. That's pretty cool. Even I'd consider that one. And of Mickey, yet! Hmm...

congrats on both the ink and the metal!!
AT one time I had 14 earrings, my eyebrow pierced and my navel done - so yes, I TOTALLY understand the addiction!

I took out my eybrow ring years ago and a few earrings...just left with the navel and 12 earrings.

Just got my first ink done last year - an abstract martini on my lower back - i LOVE it! My maid of honor took me to get it 3 weeks before my wedding in leiu of the bacherlorette party I didn't want. (we have matching ones now. heheh)

I plan on getting an abstract mickey head done as well...yep - addiction!

both look great! enjoy them for many many years!
