Look out world...the Princesses are taking over!

And if you had had a girl, what then? Your world would have come to an end? And if you do have a girl who loves the princesses, what then?

No,my world would not have come to an end, but I'm much happier with a boy than a girl. I've always been more able to relate to the guys than I have the girls my age. Girls can just get way too caught up in shopping, shoe obsessions and all the drama they seem to create. Boys are much simpler to deal with. Give 'em a pizza, some beer and a sports something or other to watch and they're pretty happy. ;) :p

If one day I end up having a girl who is very princessy and into all that fluff, well, god help me. I wouldn't know what to do with her.

she CAN have it all!

I wish I could share that attitude, but I just don't believe that is true. You can't work and have a family, too. It's very, very difficult (as I am finding out)and I HATE not being able to be a SAHM. I really wish I could be because I feel like that by working, even though I am providing for my family by bring home $$$ I am missing a lot. I missed the very first time DS ever rolled from front to back and back again. :( He did it in front of his DGrandmother and I only got to see it two days later when I had a day off and was playing with him on the floor.

I also find it wierd yet amusing that the 'non-princesses' are grouped in with the 'real princesses'. I guess the folks at Disney think a woman is a woman and all of their animated girl stars should be one brand. Thus all the women from Cindy to Meg and Mulan are stuck in together.

I disagree - I think you can work and have a family. Plenty of women do it every day. Sure, it's hard - but that's life. For me, a priority is to be a SAHM, so we waited to start a family and saved big time in order to afford it. I couldn't have what I had wanted if we didn't wait - that's life and a choice we made.

You can't work and have a family too? Millions of women do it everyday! My mom did it and she did a great job at it!

I have two daughters. both are princesses. (gee, what a surprise!) both are ALSO strong, independent girls, not afraid to speak their minds.

to be honest, my younger daughter Becca and I share more interests than I share with my older daughter. Jen is very different from what I was at her age. half the fun of being her mom is exploring this "alien" in my house. I wouldn't change a thing about her.

TOV, when you have a child, you don't get to pick and choose their personality and their likes and dislikes. you have some influence, of course, but they go their own way. boys, too.
