Look out Fort here we come...February is booked.

So last night was the BIG night, we hit our sixty day mark at midnight. Tonight on Christmas Eve with no kids, we can head to bed early after our visitors leave. Got our fastpasses, online check in done. Installed the DW's Christmas present (a toolbox) in the bed of the truck. So now it will be trailer prep, trailer projects and counting down the days. Will start a pre-TR in a couple weeks and we will rock on from there. Looks like a stop at KSC before Disney.

Everyone have a safe holiday if you are traveling. :drive:

Have a Merry Christmas and wish everyone on this board the Best in 2016. :smickey:

Hope you had a great holiday. I can say mine was great once I go to NC, getting down there was the bigger issue. My truck once again decided it does not like my trailer and started to act up. I was able to get off 95 and get some help, thanks to good friends I was able to borrow someone's truck to finish the drive down and back. My truck was taken to the shop and after 3 days of not being able to reproduce the problem they started to check fuel pressure and other stuff. Turns out my pressure regulator locked up at a very high pressure (enough to break a 125psi meter) and in the process may have caused damage to some injectors (which are only a year old.) Still waiting on the final dianosis, but it sounds expensive already. I think I am going to see what they can do to get her running and start looking for something newer in the 6.7L flavors if I have enough cash left once its repaired.

We have had a great holiday so far. Our nephews come to visit on the 1st for Christmas day with us. Surprised the wife with a toolbox for the truck, now we have the backseat again. Taking the truck today for state inspection, car going in for steering pump recall.

Sorry to hear about your truck. Glad you were able to complete your trip and had a good holiday. Hopefully it is not too bad, will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks, it was very odd to find debris in the FPR housing and spring. I have an Airdog plus the factory filters, so thats 3 filters and 2 water separators before you get to the FPR. The only thought was the debris was from the previous owners. The diesel expert is going to dig some more, if I just blew out the seals then thats a cheap fix. If it actually broke the spools im looking at 2 new injectors at the least. None of which I am looking forward to paying. In the end it is a good chance I would trade her in for something newer if I can find a good deal.

Being the year end I have a few new and used dealers pushing to get a deal done. None are where I want them price wise anyway, but patience might get me there.

That is an odd problem on a 6.0. Did he say what the debris was? I had a filter actually breakdown one time that caused issues. It was a while back when they first started adding more biofuel to the diesel mixes. Something in the bio additive and the filter material didn't get along. Made a mess of my HPOP on my 7.3. That also wasn't cheap.

Good luck. And don't to shy on the new 6.7. This is the first diesel I've owned I haven't felt the need to mod after the first 1000 miles.

I have driven the new 6.7 Ford and Cummins, both have lots of power out of the box. Even my 6.0 has good power and the only reason I run a tuner on it is because of the EGR delete. I run the tow tune +75hp, nothing crazy on it by any chance. She actually gets better mileage on that tune then it does on stock.

Still waiting for the final say on the injectors, but update was they are still digging to make sure that was the only issue and if the injectors can be revived or not. I also have a dealer willing to deal this week on a 2016, but still not sure we can get where I need to be as that's a big payment for a long time.

Well hope the news on the injectors is good, and yes it is a big payment for a long time.

But the DW came to me and said, book a trip for 2017 !!:cool1:

Is it too early to start a 2017 Pre-TR and TR ??popcorn::

Well with two trips planned for 2016, having a 550-600 a month truck payment would hurt for a while till the budget could adjust. I think its possible, if I go preowned it would be less, but some of the new deals are pretty close to the same and I know I will have little to no maintenance for a few years.

The dealer made us some good offers on new trucks, but gas engines. We ended up going pre owned and it is still a big chunk. The biggest thing is my motorcycle will be paid off shortly and my car will not be too far behind. So that makes the 2017 trip a very real goal. Actually she said figure out when we want to go and book it, of course would need to be in the window for reservations first.

You know +75 still puts you under the stock HP on a 6.7? And my 7.3 also got better mileage on the "Tow +75" mode. I think it managed fuel injection much tighter than the factory tune.

I'm leaning your way, Chris. DS graduates from HS in 2017. I was considering a Disney Cruise in September when the rates go down. It looks very likely I'll have a new camper this spring, so now I'm thinking a Fort trip will be in order to christen the trailer.

Chris I had one dealer get pretty close, 2016 Lariat DRW, 58500 out the door, includes LineX but no 5th wheel prep or rails. They where trying to low ball me on trade, and I am 2 months away from paying it off so I am not negative equity by any means. So tonight I am going to talk to another local dealer and see what we can swing for a deal.

Also considering the Ram dealers, but after talking to one, not sure they will move much and the sales guy I spoke to immediately started talking down the 6.0 and guessing 9-10k for trade which at that point ill sell her on the open market for 15-17k and then go truck hunting with a bigger down payment.

We had one dealership that wouldn't even talk to us about the truck we wanted, Chevy 3500 Crew Cab DRW, they low balled our trade, and then kept insisting on a New model truck. Yea they wanted to make more of a profit or get a bigger kick back from Chevy. Joke was on them, found the one we purchased, paid what we wanted, and to this day that truck is still on their lot. They have had it now for over a year.
The one we got was a year newer, fewer miles, line x coated bed, and has fifth wheel rails and plug in, so it didn't have Nav or a moon roof, not like they were on my list of must have anyway.
Best of luck and hope it works out for you. I know it did for us.

This will eventually replace the vinyl over the door in our trailer. Need to sand, stain and poly it. Have less than 2 months to have it done.

Love the wood work! That is awesome. I am working on my mickey clock for the RV. His minute arm came loose, so some time in front of the electronics magnifier while I work on the tiny nuts that hold the assembly together should have him good as new.

Truck hunt continues, new sounded great but could not get the price where I wanted to be for the payment. Now looking at 2013-2014 used, found out worth looking out about 1.5 hours away, and another just 20 miles away. Good news is the shop serviced my truck and I posted it for sale locally. I figure worse case the truck will sell and I won't have to play the trade game.

Well I did it, found my replacement truck. 2012 with 20k miles on it. Price was 46200, under kbb dealer range, got an ok price on my trade, but wish they had come up another grand. did talk in the ford ESP for it to cover her to 95k miles or 5 years. I hope for her to give me a good 200k miles of service.
