We just returned from a worderful stay at BWV!!. We rented points from a dvc owner. First of all let me say this is the way to go and quite a bargain. I was hesitant to try this way of renting but it turned out perfectly. Our room keys even had dvc member printed on them, and cms frequently said "welcome home" to us. We even got a 10% discount at Artist Point restaurant--we weren't aware at the time, but since the meal was charged to our room, we received the discount.

We arrived at 8 am. Check in was so smooth. Our villa was ready!!. Everyone was so nice and efficient. We had rented a standard view villa, but the view was not "standard" in my book! We had a small lake to gaze at from the balcony and even a hint of illuminations.

The decor was so whimsical. I really loved having a washer and dryer available. The bathrooms are laid out in a way to accomodate two couples i.e. vanities in separate rooms. The whirpool tub was huge and so relaxing!
I also loved the shower--tightly enclosed for good steam build-up!

Having a kitchen made all the difference, even though I did not cook. Just having a large fridge for drinks and plenty of storage for snacks and breakfast foods was so convenient.

The pool was simply awesome!! My DH couldn't get enough of the clown slide, and the water was nice and warm.

Location, Location, Location!!
There was always something to do at the Boardwalk. One night my DH was "volunteered" to help a jugglling act. What fun ( He loves that kind of thing). Our rooms were extremely quiet, even though the boardwalk is alive at night.

The community "hall" was great with popcorn, movies, games, etc. My DH and SIL GOT IN THEIR PING PONG FIX!!

Check out was a breeze. We didn't even go to the lobby! Our bill was delivered to the room and our luggage was transferred to Pop Century. All we had to do was pack and leave the rest to the Boardwalk cms while we made an early morning entry to the parks!

I've stayed at the CR, FW, PORS, CBR and visited Poly, and Yacht and Beach Club, but my favorite has to be the BWV!!

You said it all!!!

we love BWV...and also have rented last 3x there

we are going again in few weeks
have std view as well..and never had a bad view
my kids actually prefer the quite pool...
great great place
location is fabulous
personally, I feel this is the hidden treasure of disney.
top of the line resort and most people don't even realize how great it really is
cheaper than BC and ooooh so much better in my opinion

glad you enjoyed so much

can't wait for our trip

So are you now tempted to buy DVC? Your review makes me really want to stay there sometime, especially interested to hear the standard view you had wasn't standard. Glad you had a great time!

My DH is not into timeshare ownership, but that's ok as long as some nice dvc members are willing to share for such a decent price!

I haven't stayed at BWI yet but I haved visited and liked it VERY much. We have rented a villa from members and stayed at OKW. I love love loved it. So peaceful and we were able to park right out front our door. I loved the jacuzzi tub too!!!

Glad you had a great time!!

Glad that you had a good time! We are not DVC memebers but we still stay at the Boardwalk quite a bit as it is our current favorite resort. We will be back there in August!! :)

Thank you for the great review! We are staying there in Jan., and can't wait!

I'm a DVC owner...with BWV being my home resort and the only one I've stayed at.....I love everything about BWV....glad you did too..

We're DVC owners also and BW is our home. We ususally go back and forth between the BW & BC (Our 5 year old DD loves Stormalong bay).

Renting points is the way to go if you don't own DVC. If you figure out what you would have paid for the room instead of renting, the difference is amazing.

When were you there? I also just returned (May 13th-May 22nd) from staying at the BWV. I also rented points, but for a preferred water/courtyard view, studio. I wound up in room 5061, which is an asolutely perfect boardwalk view. It was on the top floor, only three doors down from the elevator, and was over the archway between Muscles and Buscles and the Wyland Gallery. Standing on the balcony I could look to the right and see the back door of the Boardwalk and gazing to the left I saw the boat dock with the Beach Club across the lake and in the distance Spaceship Earth. It was a studio, but had an extra daybed, as well at the queen size bed and sleeper couch. It was perfect. Like you I absolutely loved the Boardwalk. Everytime I saw one of the DVC sales booths, I wanted to stop and inquire, but was afraid if I did I would be unable to keep from buying in.

Thanks for the great review. We are renting points from a dvc owner in October. She got us a boardwalk view and we are excited beyond belief. I am so glad you had such a good time there.

How do you rent the points? We were looking into buying DVC, but we just can't afford it right now. I did visit the DVC board and saw the points for sale...is that how it's done?

Go to the DVC rent/trade board and you'll find all the info. If you want to buy into(without the minimum 150 points you have to buy with DVC directly) the DVC you can buy a small point contract by resale at the timeshare store. That link is at the top of the DVC boards.

We had rented twice from a DVC owner here on these boards and stayed at the BWV. Great experience renting and BW is our favorite resort. We are now owners and love our DVC. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. It really is a great resort. We have a hard time staying anywhere else! But we are giving SSR(our home resort)a try next month!

The Boardwalk is our favorite resort too. We just returned from a terrific stay at SSR - it's beautiful, new and has great access to DTD - but the Boardwalk is still my #1.

We rented DVC points last Oct. and had a one bedroom villa at BW. (Standard view) We loved it! It was sooo great having the washer and dryer in there as well as the full kitchen. Good way to save money and not rush out first thing in the am. (Our son was 2yrs. old at the time!) We had a big breakfast in the room everyday which was great becasue sitting down somehwere with the 2 yr. old...impossible!

We loved the time we had so much, we rented points again for this October! OKW here we come!
