My DBro was Battalion Commander of Ft Carson for a while and we used to fly to visit him and his family AND one MAY (2007) we flew into Denver and was driving down to CS and it was SNOWING!!

The Farmer's Almanac is predicting a very cold, snowy winter for the Midwest and a warmer than normal winter for the southeast. It looks like both may be coming true.

what is it predicting for the Northeast? I hope we're not in for snow from November-March.

Yep, the snow on the ground compelled me to dig out the winter coats and snow boots this morning. The good thing is that the cold weather puts me in the mood to bake and cook, so I made a double batch of Toll House cookies this afternoon! Should be good for establishing that winter layer of insulation on my waist and hips!

I'm up in Littleton. It's 5:00 now and it's 25 out. The kids wanted to go out so I bundled them up and out they went. Younger DS lasted a whole 30 seconds before he came back in. Older DS lasted about a half hour but he had a lot of fun.

I think they're calling for 60's tomorrow which will be nice.

Okay, no more avoiding it!! I spent the afternoon cleaning out my closet and armiore. All the shorts, tanks and flipflops are packed away until Mayish. In their place heavy sweaters, T-necks, socks and jeans. It feels good to have that done. I made a big pot of soup and am baking brownies too. Kind of like the start of winter.

I can't believe we woke up to snow this morning!! It's only early October - man, what's in store? I'm not a believer in global warming, especially after this "summer" where I sat at ball games in 3 layers of long sleeved shirts, hat and mittens.

The roads are fine. They said that some of the ramps and overpasses are slippery. It is only 28° here right now. The sun is starting to poke out too so this will be gone in an hour or so. Hopefully your ride up is easy. What are you coming up to the cities for?

We went to Ikea. The roads were fine.

That is enough snow to call off school and work and shut down the city. No I am not kidding. I live in the South all it takes is threat of snow we is shutting down the city.

The roads were actually kind of slippery this morning...We headed up to Mora for dd16 volleyball tournament early (around 7 am.) and passed several accidents and cars off the road ..apparently one we passed ( on 35E) had a fatality so it actually was messy this morning.
